Water's Edge Resort & Spa

The View, The service, (the older gentleman who takes your bags is amazing), one of the younger ones is nice, but does not take initiative to pick up/ handle bags unless you ask, or maybe he just forgot with us. The pool was very nice, the Hot Tub. Fior was amazing, hot tub with TV in the suites was luxurious. Again, the view!

Manners of the young girl/staff at the Coffee shop, restaurant, bags. They never look at you in the eyes, barely mumble a word. Not rude outright, but no manners either. The only negative anyone in my party had was that. I do hope it’s not a generational curse, as being in the service industry should require good customer service skills.

The food was great! We had some trouble with waitstaff but it was because several people called out. Can't help that! The grounds were beautiful - the beach is private to the hotel - not many people there as it was chilly. Turns out the property is a vacation club as well. We didn't expect how nice it was.

What a great discovery The Water's Edge is! I grew up in Stamford, CT and have lived in CT for most of my life and didn't even know it was here! It's a beautiful resort with beach, indoor and outdoor pools, indoor hot tub, beautiful grounds, 3 restaurants, and clean, comfy and spacious rooms. Leanne was very friendly at Check-In, and got us a great room. Donna, the hostess at the Italian restaurant said "The Water's Edge is the Happiest Place in CT." I might have to agree. We had a great visit and we will be back!

Rooms nicely updated. Nice little beach area. Bathrooms need a brightening up though Complimentary upgrade to a water view room. Beautiful grounds and views. Friendly staff. Food was pretty good.

The pool area was very dreary and needed a refresh. Even just a fresh coat of paint. Random clumps hair on floor. No pool towels at the pool. Had to hunt for them. Were at Starbucks. Like that makes any sense. Should’ve been a sign or some notification in advance. Phone to front desk was not working so couldn’t call about no towels. Were already soaking wet in pool.

The check-in process was quick and easy. Lovely, knowledgeable young lady assisted me. The room was spotless and smelled freshly cleaned. All mechanicals worked fine, A/C and heat. The view was, as always, wonderful..

The service at the bar was horrendous. I had to ask for a menu and silverware after waiting quite a long time to even order a glass of wine. The bar wasn't full, yet the bartender was absolutely overwhelmed and inefficient. I ordered a salad , since I thought that would be a quick and easy choice, but I wasn't offered a choice of protein, which were clearly available. This is not the service I have come to know and expect at Water's Edge. Other diners remarked that their food came out ice cold and their request for bread and extra sauce for the entree was ignored or forgotten. They were disappointed also.

Water’s Edge was a great resort to stay at. The staff were all amazing from the valet, front desk staff, waitstaff and bartenders! I was concerned about the resort being too big as I have a tough time getting around but they were able to give me a ride to and from the beach when I needed it. I ate at the sunset grille, the main restaurant and the bistro. All were excellent! I never had a bad meal while I was there!

We were first assigned a room on the 3rd floor #311 which was very dark and overlooked rooftops. I asked if there were any water views and was assigned room 209 which was so much brighter and we could see the water. We sat down to eat in the Seaview Bistro at 5pm and were told that selective drinks and 'little bites' were half price until 6pm..nice surprise.

I would have liked a Kurig machine in our room..I always bring my own decaf pods. Also asking $5.00 for a bottle of water is way too much. A couple of regular sized bottles should be gratis and then have more available to buy somewhere in the hotel. I used tap water but the coffee did not taste very good.

Room was very nice

Valet driver never there when you needed him. Was on break and I stood outside waiting with no one telling me. Pool and beach didn't have seats or couldn't move umbrella where we did find a seat. Couldn't enjoy the facilities we came for. Food was powdered eggs which were gross and not told ahead of time and very expensive. Stayed here so we didn't have to go looking for beach.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. The complimentary room upgrade was a nice surprise; upgraded from a queen to a king room with balcony and partial ocean view. Drink vouchers (up to $12 value) given at check in. Dinning rooms are spacious and have gorgeous ocean views. Courteous and professional wait staff. Great food, from $12 nightly specials, $39 prix fixe three course dinners to fine Italian meals. Great variety! The lemon-cello cake was the bomb! A Starbucks kiosk on premises open each morning until 11:00 am. Hot/cold beverages and tasty treats at very reasonable prices. Original art work, that can be purchased, is displayed throughout the hall just past the lobby, giving interesting eye candy on the way back to the rooms. The pool was a tad too cold. The hot tub was perfect! I was not overly impressed with the woman’s locker room, which contained three shower stalls (equipped with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel), sauna, steam room and two hair dryers located by the sink area. PACK SANDALS as the floor gets wet. No attendant is on duty. Towels are only offered as you check into the pool via the gift shop. Decent sized workout room adjacent to the pool area. The spa offers a variety of treatments. Lockers, sandals and robes are available to use ONLY while having your treatment. A relaxation room with tea/coffee is also available to spa guests ONLY. The deep cleansing facial, which I had, included a head, neck and shoulder message; tax and 18 percent gratuity were added to the cost of the service. The king room is spacious, providing a coffee pot, small refrigerator, stand up shower (no tub), and hair dryer. No robes are offered, either in room, at the pool or to purchase in the gift shop; so be sure to pack one if that’s important to you on your spa get away. Overall, a great stay. The fabulous staff, delicious food, amazing ocean views and spa time more than made up for my dislikes. I can not wait to return for another get away!

Water’s Edge has a beautiful, relaxed resort vibe. A few steps to the beach, indoor pool for kids, great food options on-site. We ate dinner in the fine dining restaurant and it was excellent, the food/service/view. There was a caveat I’ll share below. There are a ton of unique stores, as well as general shopping in close driving proximity to this hotel. This hotel wasn’t advertised as a kid-friendly hotel but it truly is, there were staff who went above and beyond to make our kids feel welcome. There were other families we got to know, it was very relaxing AND fun. The perfect place to stay for each member of our family.

The staff was either amazing, totally unengaged, or watching YouTube videos on their phone while riding the elevator with us. I LOVED the amazing staff, truly made our stay. The others made me wonder who was hiring/managing the staff, it was so inconsistent. We had the best seat in the restaurant (center window) but there were ants and termites crawling on the window sill next to us. I discreetly told the waiter who didn’t seem surprised and did nothing to remedy the situation. The food and was great but I was so grossed out by this it made a tainted memory. The bistro staff for lunch seemed overwhelmed/overworked and unhappy. This could be a result of hiring shortages from Covid but again, the staff attitudes were very inconsistent.
