This was our second stay at Sweetwater Branch. Beautiful grounds. Reserved parking spaces. The Julia room was perfect. Large bathroom, sitting area, king sized bed. Breakfast was great with several hot choices (my favorite is the frittata), fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee and juices. Always nice to sit on the veranda. Close to many restaurants. Our favorite, Harry's is just a short drive away. Don't get me started on their crawfish etouffee. YUM!
No more happy hour. But, apparently this is due to lower room rates.

We were in one of the older buildings on the property. It was decorated beautifully to the approximate time period. Seating inside and out. Fountains and plants outside to help you relax and enjoy. Inside soft music was piped in, and seating was period, but also comfy. The rooms, although a bit small, were very nice. Everything was clean, and ready to go. Breakfast every day offered plenty to eat. There was also a wine hour, when you can pick up a drink, and cheese/cracker tray to go. The whole experience was geared toward just relaxing. Also only about 3-4 blocks from center of town.
Signs at the entrances were not visible, if they are there at all. Had to go around more than once to figure out where exactly we go to check in. Only property issue I had was, you need to be ready for mosquitos. They are viscous, and hungry.

What's not to like about Sweetwater Branch? Wonderful Victorian architecture and well appointed rooms. Tasty hot breakfast in the morning on the veranda. Wine and cheese in the afternoon; we sat by the pool to enjoy ours. Beautiful grounds. Close to many great restaurants.
My complaint isn't about the hotel, more the booking. We stayed for four nights in the smallest room. Many of the other rooms were rented for 1-2 nights. I would book the smallest room for the single nights and schedule longer stays in the larger rooms.

The property is beautiful and we went on a day when it was pretty quiet. It was comfortable. I look forward to returning.
I didn't like that the Linens were heavily fragranced. I did talk to them about it and was pleased that they were concerned about this and hadn't thought about it being a problem. They let me know that we could fix it going forward and I could request Linens that are unscented and they may even do away with the scented Linens going forward.

The 1895 home/Inn in which I stayed was absolutely gorgeous and was lovingly restored to its old world charm with all necessary modern amenities. The Inns and cottages as well as the beautiful gardens, ponds and saltwater pool on the property are well maintained and the accommodating staff went above and beyond to make my stay VERY enjoyable.

Sarah's cottage was lovely and quaint, everything you would need was provided, along with a lovely porch and rocking chairs to enjoy sitting in the evening. Was so much nicer than a hotel room.
Breakfast was not what we expected, no cereal, no white or brown bread for toast, a few sweet cake like items, and the cooked breakfast was strange.

Sweetwater Branch is a beautiful B&B! Location is great, lost to downtown and the campus. Check-in was a breeze, the room and bathroom were very comfortable and clean! Nice rocking chairs on the front porch and lovely landscaping everywhere. I would absolutely stay here again!

It was very convenient to the University of Florida where our granddaughter was attending swim camp. The staff was wonderful, and the setting was amazing. It was like taking a step back into time.

This is a lovely place. Our room was small (we knew that ahead of time) but the shared living room and outdoor patio were nice quiet places for reading. The morning breakfast was exceptional. The location is close enough to walk to restaurants.
TV screen was on the small side. It would be nice if WiFi reached to the outdoor patio.

This was an absolutely gorgeous bed and breakfast. It’s the nicest one I have ever been in and the customer service was 5 starts. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the Gainesville area. My son goes to UF and I will be back to Sweetwater many times in the future.
