Hotel Sheldon

The hotel is right in front of the beach and the ocean. The hotel provides a free umbrella (one umbrella is issued for one room), beach chairs (two beach chairs are issued for one room), and you can also take beach towels on the ground floor. Also on the ground floor there is a special table where you can get free coffee, tea, cold and hot water, sugar. There are a lot of cafes, restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, suitcase shops, grocery stores, shops with everything you need for swimming and relaxing near the hotel. There is also a summer theater next to the hotel, there are very interesting free concerts. Right in front of the hotel there is a shower, a lifeguard station, a walking path. Ford Lauderdale Airport is closer to the hotel than Miami International Airport. Very good service at the reception: always polite and helpful staff. When we were leaving and the elevator was broken, all our suitcases were lowered down by the hotel staff. The room has a coffee maker, tea and coffee making facilities, also a hairdryer, refrigerator, TV, iron and ironing board, safe, hangers and a small room (dressing room), mirror, two queen size beds, table, chair

There is no daily cleaning of rooms in the hotel. The air conditioner makes such loud and varied sounds, as if it is going somewhere on a steam locomotive Beach towels are NOT provided early in the morning (06:00-08:00). The hotel has old rooms and old furniture. The elevator was broken, we were worried about the broken elevator and our suitcases.

The hotel is located directly next to Margaritaville and less than a 5 minute walk to the Bandshell. it also located amidst many dining venues. Rooms had a safe, hairdryer, coffee maker, beach chairs and umbrella (resort fee charge I assume) which is very convenient. Having the oceanfront room with an unobstructed view of the ocean was great. Parking directly behind hotel for $20/day (make sure receipt provided at check in is clearly visible on the dash otherwise the car will be towed).

The property has a $30 resort fee (for 2 night stay) that we were unaware of. The hotel was clean but there are some signs of wear and tear in the public areas and rooms. Housekeeping is every other day only (another unknown but was not an issue especially for a short stay).

You can not beat the location. Right in the heart of Hollywood Beach! Walking distance to anything and everything you need. The steps from the ocean and the staff were amazing. The lady at the front desk treated us like we were family and even the housekeeper was so friendly and nice to talk to.

The only thing I didn't like was that we did not get a room with a balcony. However, that was my fault because I did not book early enough. There are only 2 rooms with balconies so be sure to book early.

Location is fantastic. Outside of hotel there's a taco joint (get the 🦞 taco), and many other shops and restaurants. Margaritaville is literally next door. Live music outside. The beach is amazing, hotel provides towels, umbrella and chairs. Parking is available (rent a car) all 6 casinos are 10-20 minutes near the area. Guitar casino looks great to see, but my favorite to play was at the Big Easy Casino. Try the Mofongo at El Bayu de Wela Sara (shrimp or chicken). Overall great stay, many places to go (Las olas blvd) its great to drive and sight see the mansions, luxury yachts and shops. Most likely I'll comeback. ❤

Small bathroom, very thin walls (could hear neighbors and staffers talking in the lobby from the 2nd floor), small tv, no pool (which i knew about going in) the beach is 5 steps away from the hotel, so no biggie. 💙

The location was great and ALL the staff were very kind. In addition it's staffed 24hrs...wonderful. makes you feel secure. The Location, has elevator, good AC. Everything worked. Get 2 chairs for beach with the room and umbrella. REAL OCEAN VIEW..LOVED IT..they only charge $20 resort fee. WONDERFUL..its literally 6 steps from the beach..in the middle of good restaurants and entertainment.

Was told room will be cleaned after 2days since we stayed 3 or 4 but if we needed towels or anything we could ask. After 2days we had to ask and a nice lady came but didnt change the beds or leave extra toilet paper. She said someone else would do it but they never came but it was still clean but we had fresh towels. We still LOVED IT

This hotel is in an EXCELLENT location!! They also have a supply closet of beach chairs / umbrellas and coolers for guests to borrow, which is a tremendous help if you fly to Hollywood Beach!!

The AC didn’t cool our room enough, unless we kept the bathroom door closed.

You can’t ask for more in terms of location. The hotel is located directly on the beach. When a stray shower passes through the area, a frequent occurrence in Florida, you can wait it out in the lobby and then return to the beach. Having beach chairs and an umbrella in the room is great for those who like to enjoy a sunrise on the beach.

The hotel is showing its age. The hotel was very clean, but the architectural features need some attention. There is no pool (and no place to put one) so visitors should be aware if they prefer a pool to the ocean.

The hotel provided two beach chairs, an umbrella, and towels for the beach that was right outside the front door. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was incredibly helpful. The hotel had Old Florida charm with a freshly painted, very clean room. I would have scored it an 8.5 if that was an option.

Old Florida charm came with a very small King City room (200 sq. feet is not a lot of space). With a king size bed, desk, and walk-in closet, it was a tight fit. In fact, I couldn’t open the refrigerator door fully because it hit the bed. In fairness, there are larger rooms available. The hotel would benefit from better signage as you enter through the rear of the hotel that looks like an alley.

I really liked the hotel. Location is excellent, just at the heart of Hollywood Beach with direct access to the beach. Everything was too convenient, beach chairs and beach umbrellas were ready in the room, towels were available at the lobby. Safebox was big enough to store laptops. My room’s view was amazing at the oceanside.

Hotel was in a perfect location. We stepped out right onto the boardwalk. Very clean, room was exactly as pictured on website. Upon entering beautiful decor, fresh and clean

I liked everything. Only thing I would suggest is add long mirror in the room. Only mirror was the bathroom vanity. There was however a full length mirror by the stairs
