Holiday Inn Miami International Airport, an IHG Hotel

Everything went well.

The ride from the airport to the hotel kept passing us up, we waited almost 2 hour. Had to call a uber.

The breakfast was on time and delicious. The room cleaning team was good.

My floor misses some room service like an ice delivery machine.

The staff was amazing especially the restaurant staff, Supervisor Maria and Bartender Jay made sure to make my god brothers birthday Amazingggg. We patronize the restaurant and bar every night when we’re there. Yet, the Saturday night was the night to remember they bought out a piece of cake to help us celebrate his birthday. I could never thank them for helping myself and his sister capture his 29th birthday with a close.

Yet, I did not understand as an IHG member the possible exposure of COVID I could have been put into risk. Since the third into me staying at hotel, walking into lobby COVID testing was being administered in the lobby. Not, in a room for safety yet in the lobby. Although I was sure to follow the hotel, and CDC policy. How am I certain that the amount of people that were waiting was not already exposed which can be an alarming situation for myself.

Nice large room, very comfortable bed. Restaurant on the top floor has amazing views and good menu.

We had to wait nearly an hour for the shuttle to the hotel, and the return shuttle to the airport was packed, leaving a few people behind.

The location was very near the airport with a convenient shuttle to pick up and drop off. My room was huge with a nice view of the pool, a canal and some palm trees. The restaurant on the top floor served tasty dinners - typical American staples but decent quality. After having previously stayed at the dire Holiday Inn near Port of Miami, I had low expectations but actually I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the airport Holiday Inn was. If I was doing another cruise I would choose this one every time since they also offer a shuttle from the hotel to the cruise terminal

The breakfast was like in most US hotels very average and well below the standard of dinner. Improving their breakfast buffet could be a big win

I asked the guy looking after the airport shuttle at the hotel to book me a taxi to go to the cruise terminal at Fort lauderdale. He said a taxi would be too expensive and he said he would get me an Uber, it would be cheaper. I was delighted. Not for long though. The car that turned up was part of a limousine service and I only found this out as we were travelling. I think he was a buddy of the guy at the hotel. I did ask the driver a few times about the cost of the trip and he was very evasive. I eventually got a price of 110 to 125 depending on traffic. I was charged €154. The traffic was ok, the trip took 35 mins. I feel I was rightly set up.

Room was comfortable and the beds slept well, the airport was nice, smooth arrival and departure, the shuttle was a smooth rode from the hotel to the airport. Only thing is he dropped me off at arrivals instead of departing. The food for breakfast was good, not a huge selection on the buffet but did have other options on the menu to choose from. The staff was so professional and friendly whenever I needed assistance.

bathroom was really small, and the door was definitely too close to the toilet. The TV didn't have a good selection of channels to watch when I was in the room. The food in the cafe' area by the front desk was kind of pricey for not a huge selection to choose from at all. I paid 50.00 for 3 small pizzas.

the room 708 has a window looking to a wall. No direct ligth. No view. Just a grey wall 10 feet away. Not a good room. The price seems to high for this kind of room.

easy and quick to reach by shuttle bus from the airport

Breakfast was included in our room rate, but as we needed to leave the hotel around 5.45am, breakfast had not started yet, and there was no option for an early-bird takeaway breakfast, which I find very strange in an airport hotel!! Surely many customers need to leave early to the airport. Even a simple takeaway like a coffee and a bread roll would be nice to have if you cannot make it to the actual breakfast. At least we should have gotten a discount on the room rate if not having brekkie!

- Quite a basic but clean and quiet room. - Location near to the Airport with a free shuttle bus. - Hotel restaurant with hot dishes and a good breakfast buffet - very friendly staff when we checked in - we got our deposit back relatively quickly after the stay

- Not all of the electrical outlets worked. - It is not possible to reach the city center spontaneously, cheaply and in a short time. - We booked this hotel mainly because of the free airport shuttle and the offered paid transfer to the cruise port. The phone number for the airport shuttle was unfortunately busy all afternoon. If we had been told instead that the bus leaves every 30 minutes during the day, we would have saved ourselves a lot of stress. - Whether there will be a bus to the cruise port at the usual time on our departure day was unclear until the morning. The bus drove, but was more expensive than indicated and we had problems because we were mistakenly told at the reception that we can pay it by card. Actually, an Uber would have been cheaper and more flexible.
