Ocean Five Hotel

Good location. Liked to see nature, trees, out of windows. Spacious and private. People very nice. Will return. Miami SOBE excellent - friendly, relaxed, safe atmosphere. Met people from the UK, Europe, everywhere who said they visited to find 'normal', 'freedom' and 'a place where good clinical evidence is followed' and Florida ticks those boxes. Everyone supported the governor's decisions to protect children and the public. We are doctors, we certainly agree with his decisions.

Kitchen a bit small, tricky as coffee maker takes a lot of space when in use. Hob took a very long time to heat for pasta to get water boiling 20-30min. All in all if the kitchen was more user friendly we would have used it more, but it was good enough. People were so friendly though, so we mostly snacked whilst socialising outside. Parking 25 dollars, but sometimes the parking attendant asks less. Will return though, but likely not at these high prices.

The rooms were exceptionally larger than others I’ve stayed at in South Beach. The staff was very attentive and made our stay amazing (Thank you Andy and Oscar). We hit a snafu with one of the rooms, the electronic lock deactivated after hotel hours. We were offered another room but could not get our things in the morning. Luckily, Oscar was able to find the master metal key to get us back in our room that night. The manager Andy, let us stay in our room passed check out until our shuttle came to pick us up late in the evening. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Ocean Five.

The location was perfect! Right off the corner of the main strip and near the beach. The gentleman who checked us in was really friendly and remembered who I was when we saw him getting coffee at one of the local cafe's. We had no problems and when we did need something extra, they were quick about getting it for us. The place itself was not the highest quality hotel but we felt very safe none the less. The only negative I can say is that the rooms aren't the best when it comes to noise cancelling so it did get pretty loud outside at times. But other than that we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back to this hotel in the future!

The Ocean Five Hotel is a good quality tourist class hotel located in the quieter end of 'South of 5th' district of Ocean Drive, convenient for all amenities. As an older style 'art deco' hotel the rooms are large and comfortable with good a/c. Very clean and tidy. Joshua, Jorge and the other reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Good car parking facility aside the hotel. Nice quiet area, and an attached excellent cafe/restaurant for breakfast. David Baird - Scotland

The location cannot be beat! So many dining & nightlife options are in close range, and the beach is a short walk away (if you arrive during Art Basel week in early December you can check out the nearby SCOPE Exhibit as well). The free beach towels offered at the front desk came in handy. The receptionists were very friendly and both check-in/check-out went very smoothly.

The section of the hotel I stayed in was undergoing reservations during my visit, so the common space in that area was in disarray and banging from construction could be heard in my room each day. I’m a heavy sleeper and was out and about most days, but it still would have been helpful to know in advance.

This hotel has an excellent location. It is walking distance to the beach, restaurants and other stores for shopping. It also has a nice restaurant located in the hotel. The room was a nice size and included a full kitchen and a sitting area with a couch. For single travelers, this hotel has safety features that I found helpful and also helped me to feel safe during my stay. The staff was helpful and my room was clean. I enjoyed my stay and will most definitely return.

I truly had no MAJOR issues, but this hotel didn't have a ice machine available.

great location, so close to the beach. wonderful staff, very attentive and super kind and nice. Overall beds were comfortable, it was clean and parking was only $25. There is a breakfast cafe downstairs with cute decor and nice space to relax. Beach towels were provided. To access the building you need a room key, I felt very safe.

the hotel is dated. AC in my room didn’t work correctly, I had to set it at 64 to get some cold air out. also it had funny smell. No view but that’s ok, since we only came back to the room to sleep.

property was close to the beach, just minutes to the ocean. Walgreens was just around the corner and there is an amazing coffe/gelato place.. Italian owned just next door. most importantly Andy. Andy is a staff member and truly is amazing. He is polite, friendly, more than helpful and in all honestly the real reason I would still go back. we had to move our trip ahead a few weeks last minute as there was a blizzard that canceled our flights and he was just so accommodating.

there is black mold in the shower area, and no air conditioning anywhere other than the main office and the rooms. so the hallways and elevator are very humid. if they put some of those retained earnings back into renovating the shower areas and doing the tile correctly with the membrane behind the tiles, and somehow getting the cold air to the hallways.. the place could really be just top notch.

amazing location on South Beach. friendly staff, clean.

Very basic room. Miami was experiencing a rare cold front and at night it was in the lower 50s/upper 40s and windy- so I tried to use heat as only thin sheets were provided on the bed. The coils immediately smelled burnt to a crisp and set the smoke alarm off. The smoke alarm then continued to chirp evey few seconds, loudly, all night until I stood on something and got it to stop.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The value was excellent, especially since we were in town for an event that weekend and the price for other hotels was extremely elevated. Parking was also very convenient and affordable as well.

Air conditioning in the room was temperamental occasionally. It had difficulty maintaining a temperature, it would get either very cold or very hot in the room.
