Ray's Bucktown Bed and Breakfast

Like going back to the university hostel of long forgotten days. People could be staying there for a night, but it looks like they stayed there longer. The kitchen is always open, so it is a big plus for hungry and thirsty travelers. Anyone can just grab something there and make yourself at home like you did in your own kitchen, excellent. The location is a real plus and sunset walk nearby give you a good feel of American lives seeing couples young and old taking their dogs for a walk. Somewhat, the building around reminds me of Boston or Montreal.

Ray's was exceptional service. We had never stayed at a BnB before, so we weren't sure what to expect. But the first words they told us were "make yourself at home." It was very comfortable, I felt free to use the social areas, they provided free snacks (this was huge for us, taking 2 toddlers with us), and had coffee and tea available for mornings and evenings. Traveling with children can be a hassle and nerve wracking. You never know how your children are going to respond to new places or people, but Ray's made it comfortable even for the kids. They have a play area perfect for littles to enjoy so we're not confined to a room. They adjusted breakfast portions that were manageable for the kid to eat, and best of all they treated our kids like a friendly relative would. Also, breakfast was absolutely phenomenal. Fantastic location, close to downtown.

Incredible staff first and foremost who made my stay welcoming from the beginning. There was community space and yet complete privacy and autonomy. There were tiny touches all around, such as a selection of curated treats up front, bottled water as you needed, and a back porch that offered beautiful mornings with coffee. Enjoyed most the good feelings of walking in and coming to my room. I want to visit Chicago again simply to bring my daughter to this location- thank you all again.

Ray's was amazing! Ashlee took such good care of us and even offered us a free upgrade. Upon arrival we saw all the charm that the BnB had to offer. You'll just have to see it to believe. There are a lot of nick knacks, art and collections in the common space, but our room was a sanctuary. The shower/jacuzzi tub was excellent, and the bathroom had a heated floor. They set up a pack n play for our baby and we all slept very well. In the morning there was coffee ready and amazing breakfast made to order by an excellent cook! We'll definitely stay here again if life brings us back to bucktown.

There were a few dust bunnies in the common area, but i only mention that because i can't think of a legitimate complaint. It was all so great!

I loved the breakfast made right there in the open kitchen. The ingredients were fresh and the toasted English muffin was to die for. The collectibles used for decoration were amazingly fun to examine. The closed garage was comforting as we had stuff in the car that couldn't easily be taken out of the car. The washer/dryer was super handy too.

Not much.. The hard wood floor in our room could have used a some sweeping/vacuuming but it wasn't bad and slippers were available to use.

Easy check in process, Ashlee was very responsive. Location was great for walking around Logan Square. The room was perfect for what I needed, and more comfortable than most hotels that I stay at. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and filling. I even hung around after check-out to work from the common area which was nice. I will be back again.

I had some issues getting hot water in the shower, but I got in late and didnt mind it. No complaints otherwise.

I traveled with my daughter and we stayed for one night. The place is awesome with fabulous collection of paintings, beautiful stuff including the antiques. The room was very clean and comfortable. Ashlee is a great host and provided us with superb breakfast. The location is great and with a free parking!!! 10/10

Actually, everything was great. We could not figure out the heating control for a while but then a person from Ray's helped us. It was perfect!

amazing stay, Ashlee and Ray are really friendly and giving excellent service. they really are going for the extra mile to help. great breakfast and location close by the subway to get to the center in 20 min, Ashlee even gave us a public transport card so we could just upload money on it. beds were comfortabel and towels for the shower :) it also gave me a sort of hostel feeling since you can easily meet other people who are staying here and eat with each other in the shared living room. would recommend!

Breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of food. Staff (especially manager Ashlee) was exceptionally helpful. Bed very comfortable, shower very nice. Easy access to Kennedy Expwy was nice.

Room was pretty small, but quite comfortable. Garage was hard to get into but we were glad to have it. I think street parking was available nearby.

There are too many things to list! I really loved the hospitality from Ray and the staff. We got an in-depth tour of the B&B as well as a thorough explanation of the area and nearby public transportation. The location is great, with lots to offer, but is also quiet. The breakfast is absolutely amazing, so many options that are all so delicious. My friend and I ran the Chicago Marathon, so Ray & his staff made us little "to-go" breakfast bags since we couldn't be there for breakfast. I could spend hours just looking around at all the art on the walls, it's such a fun little building.

Nothing I didn't like. Everything was great!
