I think this place is the best equipped in Chicago for a true hostel experience. Be prepared to interact with people here because there are many great, small, common spaces that will have you chatting with others. It's loaded with character and the vibe is right. There are colorful painted walls and murals that give the place a personal touch compared to corporate hostels with meaningless signage. Cold filtered water on tap is great, with complimentary tea and coffee. Large clean bathrooms throughout the hostel with showers. Towels are provided, and staff was excellent. Loved the common room and outdoor back patio. Met a lot of great people.

The hostel needed some maintenance here and there. Oddly there are 2 kitchens on each floor but signs request guests only use the one by the back patio. It was difficult to find outlets in the room that aren't worn out, and none are up by the top bunks- so I wasn't able to charge devices overnight. Complimentary breakfast is only on weekend mornings.

Great location, fun design and great atmosphere. People that were staying there were very nice. Plenty of community area to hang out with others.

Parking. Female personal told me I had to reserve parking 48 hours in advance. I had to pay $22 for overnight parking while in fact the hostel had few extra parking permits on that day. Female receptionist refused to give it to me but willingly gave it to a dufferent guest. The next day the other receptionist gave me the sticker with no problem. No questions asked. That situation makes me believe that the personal at the hostel gives parking permits as they please. They like you - you get free parking, if they don't like you add $20-60 on the top of your lodging (depends where you find an available spot). Quet hours from 11.30 pm are not so quite. The personal finishes its shift at 8 pm and nobody monitors how guests behave.

Particularly the bed, noisy, edge lacked support, felt as one would roll out if laying too close.. We were there to sleep only, and it felt like the room was over priced for a facility w/o bathroom in room.

For the cost, that could sleep 4, being 1/2 block from Wrigley Stadium, you can't beat it. It's not a luxurious place but it's well kept and the people that work there are very kind and courteous and it was an overall wonderful experience.

The entryway made you wonder what kind of place it was but after entering, it was fine.

really clean and safe hostel near the baseball stadium. The staff is really friendly and willing to help where they can! Very good organisation with the personnel boxes in the kitchen! They have different lounges and common rooms and everyone finds a spot to hang around. Awesome hostel near the metro station. Recommendation: not to come with the own car, finding a parking spot could be challenging! If you have one, the hostel will give free 24h tickets for parking, but first you need to find one spot! Nevertheless, I can strongly recommend the hostel!

Booking.com could announce that there is a possibility for a late check in (code for the key will sent by the reception)! I hurried up and drove too fast to arrive within the reception service hours!

Staff were great and helpful, room was clean and comfortable, bathrooms and shower were clean and really nice weekend breakfast. Found easy parking on the street, (I drove in from Wisconsin) and staff provided me with a free parking sticker. The price was great, especially in downtown Chicago. Near everything you could need. Very lively part of town. As a solo female traveler I wouldn't recommend running around in the area after dark alone, gets a little boistrous with all the bars and clubs around but I would say that about most of Chicago anyway. Good security in the building though.

Full length mirror somewhere would have been nice. I was getting dressed up to go to a show and had some trouble with good mirror.

Genuinely nice hostel, good location! Staff was very good, earnest in their desire to accommodate. Kitchen was decent. The weekend staff personality cooked up an good breakfast. The outdoor terrace was an alright spot to sit in. The local neighborhood a nice location to live in for awhile. A relaxing atmosphere.

The only downside was a lack of bathrooms. One has to feel out the bathroom usage to use one if one is in an immediate need. While the bathrooms are spread out within the hostel there might be a delay in accessing an empty bathroom. I can see there could be a "wait period" between 9 and 10:30 am while people are washing before the 11 am check out time. There isn't a bona-fide computer area with plug outlets nor a comfortable seating area one could use with conveniently located electrical outlets. One has to make do with the existing setup.

LOVED the location and the value. If you are a solo traveler, this is a great experience practically perfect for what it is.Wrigleyville, Boystown, the red line, theaters, Do Rite, Dunkin, CVS and 7-11 - all within a block Already re-booked for a trip in September. Save money and experience more.

Only drawback was that I was in an eight bed dorm that only had 5 lockers. Not a huge deal, there were other lockers elsewhere, just not ideal.

Met some amazing people here including the staff. The area is great, close to many bars, restaurants and the train lines. The area also feels very safe and the hostel has great facilities for meeting and hanging out with other guests. I could leave my bags after check out for free all day, and check out rules seemed very relaxed. All in all a comfortable and easy stay

Unlucky to be here during Lollapalooza and paying way too much for a bed with 9 others in the room for just 2 nights. Also not a lot of showers and had to wait every morning. Sink in 1 bathroom didn't work or drain properly. I managed to get a locker in my room (but you have to have your own lock) but seemed to be the only big one with a door

Came for the marathon and met loads of other runners and staff put out a free breakfast earlier for us all. Great facilities in terms of towels, cooking, fridges, tv, games room etc. Staff really friendly and helpful. Only issues were waiting for communal bathrooms at times and Wi-Fi could be slow. 3 mins walk to Addison station and lots of bars, cafes etc around Wrigley

Slow Wi-Fi and showers
