The Hotel at the University of Maryland

The area was perfect for my purpose in Maryland. The hotel was very elegant clean and professionally run. The premises appeared to be secure and my wife and I love the fact that you have to have an activated room key card to use the elevator and enter the pool. The room was very clean and modern. The parking garage is also accessed by an electronic card for guests staying for more than a day.

Several features in our room didn't work. The bathroom mirror didn't light up all the way and one of the lamps didn't work at all. Also, there were no fan-driven vents in the bathroom. The refrigerator didn't keep drinks very cold and there was no microwave in the room.

Very clean and modern rooms and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The building was all very nice and the restaurants on site were great. Staff were friendly.

The location was great for the College Park and UMD area and there was a lot to do nearby, but it was not as close to the Metro Station as I thought it would be so that was a bit inconvenient. The shuttle was great to use on our way into the city in the morning, but it stops running at 3:00, so not really practical for coming back from the station. The bus system there was also difficult to navigate and only stopped at the metro every 30 minutes. The wiring in our room was messed up and not all the lights worked, but most did so it was ok.

Reasonable prices for room and parking

1. The touch pads that control all lights are ANNOYING! Instead of simple buttons/switches you need to FIND the right menu and make selection. These displays are not lit which makes them even more annoying to operate 2. No exhaust fan in small toilet room 3. Vinyl wallpaper in toilet room is a ridiculous option. All dirt from toilet stays on it and it is not cleaned. 3. There was a frequent striking noise (from AC ?) coming from a duct along the window all day and night.

Ambiance.

The hotel advertises free breakfast. Please stop. I had a few meetings to attend, but there was no office space. However, I did sit in a back quiet area of the bar until a mean man asked me rudely to move. I didn’t. After paying over $1200 for a room, I deserved and desperately needed a quiet place to work. He saw a young black female with braids and commenced to being rude. I own my company. I’m a professional. I kept on working.

The staff was fantastic and the room was clean and comfortable. The robes were super comfy to lounge by the pool in. We stayed here instead of in DC and the value was great. Bagels and Grinds being located downstairs was a great perk. Delicious coffee and good bagels.

We stayed here to go to DC. The website states there is a shuttle to the Metro, but we were there on a Monday and Tuesday when there was no shuttle driver. Big bummer as I had my 8 year old and 75 year old father with me. This was a disappointment.

Hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable. Good area to stay in. I was worried about it being crowded due to the location of it being so close to a college campus but that was not a problem. Room was very spacious and bathroom was very elegant with a lovely shower. Indoor pool was a plus.

The only minor complaint I had is that the tv is very standard and doesn’t have Bluetooth connection, but that’s only if your interested in watching anything other than standard cable with only a few channels. I live in DC so I just went back home and grabbed my fire stick, but other than that everything else was perfect.

Good location

Room did not have a tv remote had to ask 3 times to receive one. Also requested extra pillows and blankets before stay none were provided, had to request again upon arrival. Front desk and housekeeping seem to not communicate very well. Also older gentleman that was bartending was rude and around 9 pm every night that we stayed would start saying “last call” which would cause people to just leave even though bar was opened till 10 pm. Front desk staff was nice and accommodating.

The hotel was nice, everything in nice design with quality materials. EV charging in the parking garage was easy. During check in, received a pass for the garage, well organized

A couple things didn't work, ice maker, some light buttons, coffeemaker issues. The only breakfast option is a bagel shop with a very long line. Seems like quality of management is a step below the high quality of the design of the hotel.

It was my first time here, and I absolutely love it here. Had a few glitches, but nothing too crazy to interrupt our stay would definitely visit again. The hotel is very clean and the staff is helpful and friendly.love the location is great, just 30 minutes from Washington and Virginia.

The pool water was cold, and the keys to the room and garage malfunction at times. Would love if they had a hot tub or Suna.

Was in the area to bury my great aunt. The hotel was extremely clean and welcoming. Restaurant staff at the grill was amazing (waitress had long blond hair, worked the evening of 5/17). We laughed about me wanting sweet tea, then I remembered I was up north. She laughed and understood. Front desk staff (guy with dreads) was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Loved the technology and security of the hotel.
