Holiday Inn Express Washington DC Silver Spring, an IHG Hotel

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Room was spacious - no complaints. Reasonable rate for DC. Reception staff ok with one exception. I thought quite a reasonable breakfast.

I asked a late afternoon receptionist whether they offered luggage storage. Her reaction was very strange and quite hostile. She said the building manager was unavailable at the moment so couldn't answer and seemed to view my request as a very odd one I thought most hotels would have a policy which would be familiar to their staff. Anyway I moved on as she was getting agitated at my incomprehension that she didn't know this. Next day I went again to reception and got an instant answer - yes they did offer luggage storage but the hours were limited and would not suit me. Perhaps all reception staff could be bought up to speed.

The staff was extremely friendly, especially the continental breakfast staff...always smiling and making guests comfortable

The parking is awful! No one should spend $20 for the limited, narrow parking spaces, ot be forced to park outside of the hotel they're paying to stay in.

Comfortable bed, good desk space, coffee in room and a very good and extensive complimentary breakfast downstairs

The entrance is a little bit basic and the elevators smelled of cannabis; the outside did make my friends worry when they dropped me off. But it was fine inside. My keys also demagnitized twice which meant a long journey back downstairs as the elevator was slow. Morning traffic could be heard on the fifth floor ...this did not bother me but might bother others. There are higher floors

Everything except the cafeteria lady Because one family left their used cups and plates on the table, she went off, made a scene and '""said I don't care where they from I'm not gonna keep doing this ""and more bad language. She was clearly referring to the large group of guests that came to attend a week long soccer game.Then later on at 10:00 am she shouted how long you'll gonna be here l gotta clean the room . I thought that was very rude and unprofessional. From day one I didn't like her body language

Great place. People were friendly. Breakfast was excellent. People looked at me funny for being in my jammies, but thass fine. The slope of the shower caused the curtain to sink to the middle and the water to go around the bathroom.

Only a couple little minor quibbles. There was some kind of faint weird smell coming out of the elevator. Not terrible. There was some fussy busines with getting the wifi to work. Had to ask and they gave me a special code.

The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and efficient, and the free breakfast was above average. We paid for the parking, which was reasonably priced at $20. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the DC area.

A larger TV would be nice. Especially one that includes some sort of streaming ability. Additionally the remote for the TV was finicky. However, none of these issues detracted from the overall value and experience.

Breakfast and dining room service was good. Check in was easy. Microwave in the room was nice. TV was easy to watch from bed. Parking felt secure.

Wasn't expecting to have to pay extra for parking. There are only 2 slow/contested elevators used by both guests and staff, and no access to the parking lot from the stair tower (went all the way down the stairs to the parking lot from the 4th floor only to find a door with an alarm, so had to go back up to the 2nd floor and take the slow/busy elevators down).

Location, complimentary breakfast and cleaniness of room.

Amount of the parking fee, seems to be high. Understand the limit parking but fee should be in line with other parking garages. Also, the window wall behind the curtains over the AC/Heating unit needs to be cleaned periodically, the wall paper was peeling and appeared to be mold on the wall from the condensation.

Room space and bathroom were great. Breakfast also, very good.

It was raining and we couldn’t get from parking to hotel without getting wet. Entrance and lobby aspect doesn’t match with rooms and services. Is a potty. The impression you get when you arrive at the lobby is that of a hotel of five categories less (at least).

This location is wonderful. I booked it for my mom and daughter and she called me so happy. They’ve stayed in so many hotels all over the US this week and this one is the best so far. #1 - the parking garage was full and the manager gave up her parking spot for my mom ! #2 - the continental breakfast .. amazing! #3 - hotel was clean and staff was amazing oh! and you can do your laundry! it was sooo nice to know they were safe and taken care of!
