Days Inn by Wyndham Petoskey

While my two night stay was as good as any other hotel stay that I’ve had, it was the Customer Service that made this one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. In the early evening of my second night, it became apparent that a blizzard forecast for the area was probably going to force me into staying an additional day or two if I did not get out of town as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I had rented skis and since the ski shop was closed until the next day, I was looking at the possibility of having to miss my window for a safe, drive home. Lucky for me, Grant was working behind the desk. He offered to drop off my skis the next morning, allowing me to get on the road at 2am and get home just ahead of the ice storm. Without his help, I would have been stuck there for at least an additional day or two. Thank you, Grant!!!

The staff was bright, friendly and welcoming. It was close to a lot of amenities I needed access to. Plenty of provisions to make the stay comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was perfection.

It looked like housekeeping had rushed the cleaning from previous guests. There were handprints on the bath room walls and none of the mirrors had been cleaned. The parking lot desperately needs resurfacing and I bottomed out my vehicle more than once just pulling in. My second night there, I went down to soak in the hot tub as I had the night before, but it was ice cold. No indication or signage saying it was under maintenance or shut down for any reason. Just dipped my foot in and was met with ice. Conveniently, there was no staff around to ask about it.

Room was comfortable, first floor, comfortable beds, cable tv, heat worked well. We reserved the room for a convenient location to the hospital as we had a very early appointment. Unfortunately the appointment was so early that we missed the breakfast served at the inn.

The outside doors had locks that required key cards to enter the hallways leading to the rooms, however, both doors did not shut properly so they remained unlocked creating a safety issue for guests. It was clear that housekeeping did a great job of cleaning the room, however, the shower stall had black stains from mold. It appeared to be permanent stains that didn't wash off. I would suggest the inn update the shower stall.

Great fire place in the room. Bed was comfy, shower was good and the location was good.

The elevator was a European style. You could put in your luggage cart in, close the curtain then the door then run up the stairs to your floor to get your cart out when it arrived. It was that small. You could probably squeeze a person in too but not a big person. Oh and our slider and screen to the patio was next to impossible to open.

Location is great and bed was comfortable. Breakfast is alright and has the usual items of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and waffles, yogurt and bread items, cereal.

Shower really needs doors to block overspray because the back of door on bathroom was peeling from water/basic use. The curtain doesn’t reach floor well and isn’t heavy.

The night host Jeff was great. The morning girl was good. The staff was great all round. Especially said since I had very rude and loud neighbors. Their kids were running in the room late at night. I said something in the morning the girl upgraded me and we switched rooms. Jeff handled a another rude , running, slamming the door to rooms. The staff was very good. Love the limousine awesome bonus

That guests don’t have hotel etiquette and that it’s you know it’s quiet time is quiet time

Fresh/Clean smelling room and no moldy odor. Beautiful room with a fireplace. Refrigerator, microwave and kitchen sink was helpful. Bed comfortable! Loved the pool and hot tub. Breakfast was available & good like advertised.

They salted the eggs everyday and kinda ruined them. Other clients agreed that they were salty. Maybe a bad brand? I booked online with Booking.com and they advertised one price which I booked for but then increased the price Without disclosing the individual days rates. Apparently Friday and Saturday are 50.00 higher. When I enter a range of days that I need, I expect to be given an exact rate for each day! That is Not being honest the way they handled it.

The price was good and the man who checked us in was nice. They also had a good breakfast which helps with the costs of traveling

The beds were needing to be replaced. I woke up sore. They are also not super sound proof. We heard the dryer from the laundry room until 3am and people walking up and down the hall ways. Noise wasn’t an issue for me, city dweller, but that isn’t always the case for others.

The room was very clean and the breakfast was an excellent variety, very tasty as well. Days Inn also has a limousine that can drop guests off and pick them up within a 3 mile range. We used the limo twice during one of our evening stays.

We originally booked a room with a balcony. When we arrived and settled into the room we discovered the room had no balcony. Being very disappointed, we told the front desk about it. We were told we would have to talk to Sarah on Wednesday even though we were going to be checking out on Tuesday. I called Days Inn on Wednesday and talked to Sarah who explained to me that the price of the room had already been adjusted. I then told her it would have been nice during check-in if we would have been told all of this.

The bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was good and coffee excellent.

The parking was inadequate on Saturday night. And the elevator was something we’d never seen before. Basically just a small utility elevator with regular wooden doors. And no fire sprinklers in room.
