Crooked River Lodge

Staff so helpful, place is clean, has a warmth to the lobby I don't see in most places. Peaceful & quiet...except for the small elephant in the room directly above us. Note to self, ask for 3rd floor next visit! Pool & hot tub felt perfect temperature.

Not happy about the extra 20% that was held with our booking, because it caught us by surprise. I didn't plan for that and had withdrawn cash from my account prior to coming, to use while out. That cut us really close and eliminated me being able to use what I did keep in the account because it locked it up. This needs to be stated upfront when booking and I've looked, see it nowhere.

Very clean hotel with beautiful main lodge room--loved reading by the fireplace and also sitting outside at the firepit at night. Don't miss a relaxing swing by the river nor the delicious, ample breakfast every morning. There are lots of choices at breakfast, including hot, freshly made items. Also, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and iced tea are freely offered downstairs 24/7, plus there are taps with artesian well water near the side entrances that you can use to refill water bottles. We loved our room and found the beds super comfortable and the balcony a lovely place to relax. They also have a game room/library on the 2nd floor that had a lot of great options, but we didn't have time to enjoy them on this trip. We can't wait for our next stay at the lodge--fingers crossed for next summer!

The room carpet looked like it perhaps needed a good steam cleaning

The room was great but what makes this place stand out is the common spaces: the outdoor patio, fire ring with adirondack chairs, the pool, and the staff. They have cold water, ice tea, hot tea, coffee and hot chocolate 24 hrs in the super comfy lodge-like lobby. Its right on the river and they have a few paddle boats you can use to get out on the water. The pool is larger than average and they have a great loft area above the lobby with reading chairs, a pool table and a computer and printer you can use. The grounds all around the property feel like a garden (we visited in August). Overall, a lovely place for us to hang out and have our local family come and meet us for a visit and not have to hang out in the room. Would come here again. Staff is very helpful.

Everything was great.

We loved it all! Very clean room & facility, the lodge itself is beautiful! I enjoyed a book by the fire while my kids played in the lodge under the stairs, the upstairs game space is a fun bonus, breakfast was great, plenty of options, plus homemade bread, pool & hot tub were clean & warm, staff was kind & very friendly. We've stayed here twice before and will definitely come back! There are pet friendly rooms as well which is appreciated when you like to travel and have a fur-baby! We all appreciated the 24 hour fresh water, iced tea, hot cocoa, coffee, & tea stations!

After our 3rd visit here, none of us can think of one single thing we did not like or enjoy at this property, we WILL be back!

Everything!! We will be back to stay in the 3 bedroom unit next year. The kids enjoyed the free popcorn and hot chocolate around the fire pit and the fishing is great. Catch and release for us but super fun to pull them in!! The staff certainly made us feel at home. ❤️

The late teen boys were disappointed they couldn’t use the exercise room or billiards at all and the free kayaks without parents. They will be 18 next year and appreciate the milestone. Perhaps lower the age to 16 or 17 with a parent waiver for liability purposes?

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Nice selection, but not overly so. Rooms were larger than most hotels, not huge, but big enough to be comfortable. The hotel had fun activities available, and a spacious game room and a swimming pool and got tub. We really enjoyed the game room and pool area, both of which we took advantage of on our "down day".

Not the hotel's fault, but the neighboring room didn't seem to understand quiet hours or that other people might be wanting to get up early the next day.

This was the best hotel we have ever stayed in as a family. Everything was gorgeous, and the setting was so peaceful and beautiful. Stafford's had gone above and beyond to think of every detail to make our stay comfortable and provide extra fun - yard games, hot cocoa and coffee and water in the lobby, the hidden play area for littles, the incredible fire going all the time, the games upstairs, popcorn, and an INCREDIBLE continental breakfast.

They included lots of little extras that made it so welcoming. The lobby was always stocked with coffee, iced tea and hot chocolate. They had complimentary bags of microwave popcorn. The room was stocked with extra towels, pillows and blankets. The room was cleaned daily. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The pool and hot tub were great. We also enjoyed kayaking on the property.

It felt like home away from home, only more fun, and with a pool & hot tub. We had a 2 bedroom suite, and it was huge, felt like a whole apartment. It was very clean and comfy. The staff was unfailingly friendly. It was very quiet with the one exception of a family in the room above us that felt the need to stomp or race across the room, frequently. Can't be helped if you choose a first floor room. Plenty of variety in the breakfast. We can't wait to come again.

Only thing I'd change is getting the bowed shower rod installed so the shower curtain doesnt stick to you. .

Literally everything. The staff were so nice and helpful. The rooms were huge and clean. The beds and pillows were perfect. Their breakfast was so good every day (we loved the waffles!). The fire pit and loft area were nice spaces to relax when not in the room. I wish we could’ve stayed longer!

I don’t have one bad thing to say. Honestly it was the best place we’ve stayed in a while.
