Spruce Moose Lodge

The lodge is well-appointed. The common areas are cozy for chatting with other guests and hosts or just enjoying a glass of wine. Our room was small (knew this when booked) but had what we needed and was nicely decorated. The shower had good pressure and there was a mirror in the bedroom to help with 2 people getting ready in a small space. Breakfast was delicious!! Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We walked to several good restaurants and the shopping area, but we were far enough from the main street to avoid any issues with traffic or noise. Hope to come back to experience another season at the Spruce Moose Lodge!

Hosts were fantastic - including Jed & Avery! Breakfast was excellent! Shared spaces were lovely - the gardens, everything. Has everything we needed.

My bed and pillows weren’t that comfortable. And the door next to ours squeaked everytime it opened. Lastly, whenever someone was entering their room, it sounded like they were trying to come into my room - I jumped a couple of times! That said, everything else was perfect - I would absolutely stay again, just not in that room with the twin beds. But if I’m traveling with a friend, again, I’m not sure what other options we’d have.

The home, yes "home" because there is nothing about the Spruce Moose that makes you think it's a business. Yes I mean that as the biggest compliment I can give anyone in the Bed & Breakfast/Hospitality field. I was lucky enough to find this gem as a weekend getaway destination for the love of my lifes 50th birthday. ( she thoroughly enjoyed herself).Leon and Nellie welcomed us as if we were long lost relatives in need of shelter, genuine warmth and caring. Beautiful, charming, comforting (feel free to insert any adjective that leaves you with a warm feeling inside). Breakfast was delicious but the warmth and genuine caring they show is priceless. They go above and beyond as guides to the area that they truly love as well. It's an odd feeling being away from home, exploring a new environment but feeling like you're going home every night. Avery and Jed are 2 charming pups and exude the love they've been given by both Leon and Nellie.

I wish we could've stayed longer.

Traditional Bed & Breakfast with brilliant welcoming hosts Nellie and Leon and a feeling of being completely welcome. Homely feel and really comfortable room (we were in The Radcliffe room). Interesting memorabilia throughout and outstanding breakfasts. Only minor issue in North Conway was the availability of local restaurants, completely out of the control of Spruce Moose and, apparently, attributed to staff shortages. I cannot recommend this accommodation more highly.

Availability of local restaurants in the evening

Nellie and Leon are wonderful, friendly, and kind. They, along with their two dogs, are the ultimate B&B hosts not to mention that Leon cooks a mean breakfast. The offerings at the lodge were well thought out and included a television in the common living room, games to play, travel literature, a community refrigerator for those leftovers from dinner, wine, or tomorrow's snacks, and coffee and tea available self-service 24 hours. The room was comfortable, well appointed, and included a/c which was a pleasant surprise. Toiletries in the bathroom were on point. So happy with my stay and pleased I happened upon their establishment which was listed as normally fully booked. If available again, I will not hesitate to book again and check in on them.

Everything was perfect!

Such a warm and lovely place to stay. Perfect base for exploring the White Mountains and reaching lots of trails, plus exploring North Conway. We loved the tasty home cooked breakfasts and little, homely details, and Leon and Nellie are so attentive and welcoming. Highly recommend!

We rated the motel highly rated even though after one night we considered leaving. The reasons for the high rating - The owners of the place are very charming and helpful. Breakfast is very good and so is the location. But the room was a disappointment.

The room was small by any standard, but worse was the bed. The website advertises a standard double bed, in practice you get a "bed and a half" not really a standard double bed. Also, the room is located on the second floor without an elevator. This too was not mentioned on the website. For us as a not young couple this is very significant. TV, coffee maker, microwave, etc., are located on the first floor in the common space for all the rooms, which is actually the living room of the homeowners. So you have no choice between privacy in your room and a "social meeting" with the other guests, because in your room there is nothing.

We enjoyed our stay at this traditional BnB. A nice breakfast was cooked for us each morning by our hosts, who were welcoming and helpful too. Lovely area, close to restaurants just a short distance to trails.

The hosts are great and their dogs are as well. All very lovely. The breakfast was very tasty both days we stayed. The hosts are knowledgeable about the area and can help with information about activities and such.

Great location for hiking, very friendly and helpful owners, delicious blueberry pancakes, conversing with other vacationers over breakfast, and 2 friendly dogs. Room small but clean, comfortable.

No TV but too tired to enjoy it anyway.
