Nestled in mountains of North Carolina, this was a wonderful get-away. With the history associated with this venue, it made the get-away also educational. The rooms were attractive; the food was outstanding; the stay was quite relaxing.

I can't really think of anything, in particular. Maybe the fact that being the old historical building that it is, the a/c was hard to regulate, but even then, all that was needed was an extra blanket... and the temperature during our stay outside was the high 90's, so this was actually kind of neat.

Center of town. Very Inn cozy. Very cute and clean rooms.

I absolutely loved the location, the food, and the service. The rave reviews were on point with everything. We had a great breakfast every morning with homemade options. The vanilla syrup was delicious with our oatmeal cookie pancakes! The beds were very comfortable with lots of sheets, a few blankets, and pillows. It felt like staying at grandma's house, lol. The bear foot claw tub was the best part as we don't have many of those in the modern homes today. The location was phenomenal. Lots of options for eating, shopping, and just walking the town square was just around the corner.

There was parking in the back, but when the hotel is at capacity (on weekends), it can be a little cramped for parking. You have to be careful pulling in, and it can take a few turns to wiggle your way through the exit.

perfect location for enjoying downtown Black Mountain. easy walk of a couple of blocks. Located in a beautiful neighborhood worth walking through. Owners ands staff were very friendly and helpful, despite the staffing challenges presented by Covid. front porch was comfortable and very pleasant for sitting in rockers. plenty of comfy indoor seating areas as well. very pleasant old world decor. breakfast was hearty, simple, well prepared, and plenty to eat, very nice dining area. bed was comfortable, and we are picky sleepers. communal fridge to keep your leftovers was nice since no fridges in rooms. it's also stocked with free waters and sodas, 24/7 access. no TV in rooms was nice for us, encouraged TV avoidance. attached bakery has delicious goods. owners were extremely helpful when we left something behind to help us retrieve it.

we only got one room key, seemed a little odd for two adults. we made do, minor inconvenience. i'm sure we could have asked for another key, but if they wanted to give us two, i think they could have assumed that makes more sense. and since outside doors require a key for entry after 9 or 10 pm, it could have been somewhat inconvenient if we had different evening plans. it was never an issue for us. hallways were somewhat noisy in the early evening, but quiet enough after 9 pm. walls, floors, ceilings were thin, could hear water running in adjoining rooms, people walking above us. it's an old building, so probably not much can be done about it.

Breakfast was excellent, and the innkeeper was willing to make the eggs to order. The restaurant was excellent : e servers were polite and efficient. We tried several different things on the menu, and they all exceeded out expectations. I would highly recommend both the inn and the restaurant.

Nothing! We would return to the Red Rocker Inn.

The owners and hosts were inviting, warm, and very friendly towards guests. They made a considerable effort to make guests feel welcomed and well taken care of. They fulfilled my request of having ready in my room a vase of roses and a edible arrangement.

I personally thought that the room was a little crowded and smaller than what I was expecting. My wife, contrary, thought that the room was a good size for just two of us.

The weather was perfect. A great summer escape, Nearby Blue Ridge Parkway trails, Delicious inexpensive dinner and free breakfast buffet with southern taste, Quiet and charming room, Red Rockers on the porch, and many more.

The room we stayed in does not have a shower, only a jacuzzi bath. It wasn't a problem with me. But some other guests may prefer a room with a shower. I did not pay much attention to this detail when I booked.

The breakfast was excellent! Blueberry pancakes, cheesy grits, quiche, and more. I loved the charm of the inn and its hosts! The linens were smooth and lovely, towels nice and thick. Plenty of parking, and convenient to shopping and dining in Black Mountain. Nice extra touches, like a refrigerator available for guest use, stocked with water and sodas, coffee and tea on hand, and cookies!

The ONLY downside for my husband and me was the mattress on the bed. We rolled to the middle as soon as we got in. (But since we were in the Anniversary Room, perhaps this was by design!)

Everything was very clean and pleasant. Quiet and peaceful bedroom, comfortable bed and linens, nicely appointed. The owner clearly tries to keep everything at its best. The enclosed porch tablecloth dining area was bright and inviting. Doug (the owner) was graciously accommodating when we were late making dinner reservations... assuring we got a table at the last seating. Breakfast was a better than average buffet. Thank you Doug!

My boys and I stayed at Red Rocker Inn on a Thursday and Friday night in the Azalea room. We were there to do a college visit at Montreat College. The front porch full of red rocking chairs and a swing is an instant draw. There are no TVs in the room, which helps you to take time to read and enjoy the company of family and new friends. Breakfast is buffet style and all you can eat. The beds were very comfortable and we slept almost 8-9 hrs each night. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Plan your next stay here.

The people that run the facility are like family. Prayer is said before breakfast is served. Such a relaxing place to stay.
