The genuine courtesy and historical importance of staying at a place such as the Black Mountain Inn is something that every one should do. It is reinvigorating as well as humbling. To be part of such a historic an emotionally rejuvenating opportunity Is that American dream that is so far distorted nowadays? I not only like that the first night I ended up staying a second night. Was the best sleep I've had in years? Thank you June and Dwain. -Joe Siddens

I got a lot of work done on a book that I'm writing and I wish. I could have stayed longer and because I was getting a lot done. That is the only downside as the my schedule. Forced me to have to leave but I will be back for sure soon.

The time period of the house uniqueness and the grounds were beautiful. It was what I was expecting for an inn that was 200 years old. The Black Mountain town was great, shopping & food. I'd go again to go to Goldfinch & Bush Farmhouse restaurant. We went to a concert at a local venue. The Inn was perfectly in the middle from the venue & town.

the address booking.com sent to me google sent me in the opposite direction. If I didn't know the area I would have been lost.

exactly how I imagined from the pictures and details. it was quiet and a great place for some alone time (mother of 5). The property is far but not too far from restaurants which would be great for anyone who wants to get out into the woods but not too far incase you get hungry. I have never stayed at a B+B before but I will never go back to a hotel again if they are like this one. The one thing I will note is Breakfast consists of coffee, hot tea, and fruit. I had no problem with that and June informed me of exactly that when I got there. I saw comments about expecting more from previous guests but there is no misinformation of what to expect, at least during my stay.

I enjoyed it all, no complaints

The enormous claw foot tub in the room was definitely the crowning glory to my stay. The whole place was filled with history and charm. The grounds and gardens are absolutely lovely, as are the inn keepers. Black Mountain downtown was only a short drive away.

The floors and stairs creaked something awful. I know it’s an old house, but maybe some area rugs would’ve softened it a little. As it was a bed and breakfast breakfast could’ve been a little more thought out. No creamer was offered, nor other hot beverage additives till I asked for them the second day. I understand not wanting to waste food, but maybe inquiring with the guest ahead of time to do that it would be a little more tailored. Just so one is aware, there isn’t anything within walking distance.

It was a wonderful choice. The history was palpable in this place. We loved our visit in this historical spot. We loved the old white oak tree.

We felt a bit unsettled when we arrived to find no one else in the house and no idea about whether there was coffee for breakfast or what to expect. It was a bit disquieting, but we put it behind us and embraced the experience. We found muffins and yogurt and coffee and fresh fruit for breakfast and an apology from the ??hostess??. Overall, we are happy to have experienced this place. It would have been a bit better if we had not felt the eerie silence of an empty unfamiliar place upon arrival.

A truly historic place, with old-time charm in spades. The decor is unique and the setting is lovely. Yes, if you are looking for all the modern amenities and calorie-laden breakfast, look somewhere else. I personally prefer selfmade apple muffins which were delicious. The innkeepers and staff were super friendly and very interesting to talk to. They went out of their way to make us comfortable- even cooking a tasty vegetable soup for lunch when we were snowed in - way beyond expectations!

The heat in our room was a bit hard to regulate but we certainly weren’t cold in spite of a winter storm.

The shade on the bathroom window did not stay down. There seemed to be the slight smell of cigarette smoke throughout the house, but I saw no ash trays or any signs of cigarettes, so perhaps this was just the smell of a house “of a certain age”? Anyway, I was fascinated by the house!

A fresher smell. (It might be better in the summer?)

The property was beautiful and very aesthetically pleasing. They have room options to fit multiple price points and space requirements. You have a nice view of the mountains on this quiet, peaceful location. The inn keepers were very kind and did a great job of making you feel at home there. The morning muffins and coffee were to die for. DOG FRIENDLY+++. It’s located within a few minutes of the town where the popular restaurants are and minutes from ‘lookout point’ where you can overlook the mountains. I don’t see myself staying anywhere else when visiting Black Mountain in the future. Thank you for a great stay.

I was thrilled to find that my room did not have any air fresheners or scented candles in there. I was happy to see that the sheets were not scented as well. I have allergies to fragrance and would have headaches. I dread going to hotels and the like because of the scents. This is the first place I have stayed at that didn’t have scents. Grateful
