Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Charlotte - South End, an IHG Hotel

Big room, comfortable bathroom, multiple electrical sockets and USB sockets. High speed free internet. Breakfast quite good as for USA typical conditions (but - of course - plastic knife and fork, paper plate...).

WiFi does not work at the exit main hotel door (which is needed when booking i.e. UBER and no internet plan on the mobile phone). There are no comfortable stairs close to the elevator. Strange.

Breakfast was good. Clean facility and tasty food.

When I checked in, after being stranded at the airport, the man gave me the wrong room. He then called my room after I had been there for 30 minutes and told me that he gave me the wrong room. Since it was the same price, he said that he would switch it around. When I went to check out, he had not changed it and it took the lady about 20 minutes to fix the problem. Good thing I wasn't running late.

The people at the front desk were polite and curious. The room was spacious and everything seemed clean. The breakfast was warm and tasty as well. Although we came near the end, there were still many items to select from.

I had to request more towels as there were only enough in the room for two and our booking stated we would have 5 people with us. There also weren't any covers for the pullout sofa bed. We had to request that as well and they still only gave us sheets, not additional covers. That was the reason for the larger room.

All the members of staff were lovely and bent over backwards to help with anything. The room was clean, quiet and felt safe.

Overall, the breakfast was poor, and it isn’t a budget hotel so this should have been better. There was nothing vegan (apart from a banana or an apple) to eat for breakfast, and no non dairy milk.

we were on the fifth floor and the room was very spacious and had high ceilings. the black out curtains were great, bed was comfortable and we felt secure with the keycard only access to the room floors.

didn’t love the valet requirement however staff was nice and service was quick. there were hairs on the towels in the bathroom and some odd substance on the wall.

Very clean, nice hotel. Good room design with a nice big bathroom. It's also in the South End, which is by far the best part of Charlotte to stay in. Highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Charlotte.

Hard to find much. They may be short staffed so when I asked for something brought to my room, they told me I'd have to go down to get it. I did, it wasn't any issue, but that was the only real negative. And this website made me write something, so there it is.

Hotel was reasonably priced for the quality of stay. Staff where friendly and very helpful. The area seemed super safe and very could easily access the entire city. The rooms were super nice and clean

Nothing could have been better but the price

Booking.com overcharged me for the normal price of the room. I am logging complaint with booking.com Regular price at hotel was $189. including taxes and booking.com charged me $265. including taxes. As I understand there may be a slight difference, $152. more for my two night stay is unacceptable. I will never use booking.com unless I receive a refund for this overcharge.

The property was well kept and nicely furnished. Staff was professional. The breakfast buffet was a pleasant surprise. Much better than most other than, perhaps, Embassy Suites.

The only negative I have would be the lack of common room accessories such as a city guide, a TV channel guide and an extra set of towels. One set for two people doesn't quite cut it.

Location was perfect for south end. Everything was walkable. Staff was amazing and so nice. The hotel itself was very clean.

Breakfast was average, nothing too special. Would’ve loved more hot options. Due to covid, They said room cleaning would be every five days and it wasn’t. I had to request cleaning on the 6-7th day. You need quarters to use the laundry machines, which was kinda inconvenient.
