Look and feel of an English country home. My Delux room has an electric built-in fireplace and hot tub. Small patio with river rock walls. Very relaxing. And no TV in the room. Only a couple of shelves of books! Just what I needed to unwind from my week!

Prices for dinner were a bit high. Appetizer, main course, and dessert with a glass of wine was abiut $70, but there was also live piano music in the dining room. So, I did not mind the expensense. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was outstanding! A number of choices that were freshly prepared. The service was great from taking the orders to presenting the food. Great location and beautiful settings that allowed for conversations with other guests.

The mattress was a little uncomfortable. The bathroom was very small. The room smelled like old books that were on shelves everywhere in the room.

The location is lovely and the owner and staff are fabulous! The included breakfast was exceptional and we enjoyed coffee, fresh squeezed OJ, fruit plate and omelettes. I was especially impressed with the omelettes as I think they are tricky to get right. The dinners were off the charts. My husband had a filet mignon which was maybe the best I have ever had (we share plates) and my trout was perfect. The next night we both had the duck and it did not disappoint. Drinks from the bar on the front porch was fun as we met lots of interesting and nice people. The wait staff is professional and friendly. We loved our room and have already made reservations for a return stay.

River House Inn was amazing! The food was excellent and after the first night it felt like family. Everyone was so friendly and you felt like they were friends. Even the quest were very friendly and became friends. In the beginning being unplugged was strange but after the first night I loved it. We will definitely be back and recommend it to others!

My husband Joe and I stayed in the wee cabin and it was so enjoyable and relaxing. This was for my birthday and everyone was so accommodating. Even though we came when the restaurant at the inn was not open they made an exception and served a fabulous dinner and dessert. It was such a treat! Everyone from the chef, reception and the owner treated you like family.

All of it was great! The ceiling fans in the different locations could have been cleaned, dust/down Ty on all of them! It’s important to me because I have allergies. I wasn’t able to put mine n in my bedroom because of this. I also noticed the dining room ones where I ate were the same

Everything. Staying at the River House Inn was a random choice. After a long, snowy weekend of hiking/camping in Grayson Highlands, we wanted somewhere to warm up, clean up, and relax before returning home to reality. We were warmly received at the entrance by the innkeeper, Gayle. She is a gem! So warm, friendly, and engaging. We chose the Carriage House room, a large, open unit with a full wall of books and a gas fireplace, king bed, huge garden tub, as well as two powder rooms, and a separate shower. Decor is somewhat antiquated, but suitable, somehow calming, taking you back a few years, making it feel like a simpler time. The main house is beautiful. A variety of art adorns the walls throughout the home, an eclectic collection. Small, but well-stocked bar area, cozy, a perfect place for conversation. Everyone was SO friendly and interesting. The main dining area was in the front of the house. A nice view of the New River. We enjoyed filet mignon and roasted Brussels sprouts - excellent! The next morning we returned to the restaurant for breakfast (included in the room fee). Best omelet I've ever had. Fresh squeezed OJ. Buttered, toasted English muffins with local jam. Yum! Our stay was brief, we hated to leave. We will definitely return. The location is prime for exploring the outdoors. Grayson Highlands is less than 30 minutes away. The park is near the highest peak in Virginia, Mt. Rogers, and multiple access points to the Appalachian Trail. In warmer weather, we hope to return to also do kayaking or tubing on the New River. We are so appreciative of Gayle and inn staff, they are wonderful!

The shower door was bit difficult to close. Otherwise, no complaints!

Quaint little cottages located on the grounds of a beautiful old farm house. The grounds were beautiful and guests were free to explore, or just sit and rock on the porch. Food was amazing, and service was outstanding.

We had a flat tire and not able to make it and the hotel was very kind and canceled our room for a refund. I would recommend this hotel and next time we are in the area we will be staying here.

Communication prior to arrival. Hard to reach a person and when I did it was a server from the restaurant who could not really answer my questions.
