Clarketon Motel - Maggie Valley

Basic accommodations...no frills, what I expected from descriptions/reviews I had read. No problem with this. Staff pleasant and helpful; coffee provided in the morning. Easy check-out...just leave when you get ready. I never rate anything as "awesome" (just me), but this property is highly rated.

NOwhere in the booking or at the desk on check-in was I informed of a "convenience fee" when paying with a card. I could easily have paid with cash had I know of this extra charge - Booking.com should have had this information when beginning the booking process. Not a gamed-changer, but it would have been nice to know up front.

Everyone knows it's a Motorcycle destination, so thats how I arrived on my SGS ! Love the quiet, beautiful sights and location to lots of rides in a days time. Clarketon is the Best! Go see Wheels Thru Time!!! Make new friends along the way!

Couldn't stay longer to enjoy more sights and rides in the mountains!

We absolutely love this place!

The only bad thing about this place is the parking lot. We travel on motorcycles and since the parking lot is on a slope, we have to back in and it is kinda tough to do because of the little ruts (not pot holes) in the pavement. If your front tire lands in one is jerks your tire and you can easily drop your bike.

It was clean and quiet. Reminded me of going to motels when I was traveling with the family. It felt like I had come home. I brought my husband to celebrate his birthday! He enjoyed it all.

If the rooms could be bigger it would be nice but then the ambience would be off, so don't go changing that! But if possible, the website could stand a better detailed location. Like "We are located between such and such if coming from Cherokee.

Everything about our stay was amazing. Will be back in Sept. clean comfortably room coffee was strong. Clean stain free towels. Everything was great

Everything was great nothing to complain about at all

The room was very clean and comfortable. The office and the parking lot were very clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The water pressure and shower was great.

It was very cozy and comfortable. Tammy one of the owners was very nice and accommodating!

The only thing we would change would be the bed frame. My husband kept stumping his feet on the legs.

It's a no smoking Motel and my husband & I don't smoke, but for some reason every time when returned to our room it smelled like cigarette smoke.

Tammy was beyond wonderful! We weren’t going to make it in time for check in and she unlocked the door and left the light on for us. We took care of the paperwork the next morning. The rooms were very clean and everything was stocked everyday. The water pressure was excellent! Will definitely be back to stay more!!

That we had to come home.

The room was nice and the owners were very friendly.

Some of the guests decided to have a drinking party outside their room and woke me up at 2:30 am. Owners took care of problem which I was thankful for.
