Cardinal Inn

I love this little piece of heaven! There’s only a few rooms so it never felt crowded. The rooms are super clean. The shower is huge and a walk in, you normally don’t get that in a small motel. There’s an amazing outdoor space under some beautiful shade trees with picnic tables, hammocks and a fire ring. The view of the mountains just outside your door is incredible!! The owners are so friendly and welcoming, and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is peaceful and comfortable. I highly, highly recommend!!

There is no con staying here, it’s amazing!!

I loved everything about this place. I did my research before booking and chose this location based on the reviews. They were not wrong. This place is nice. Super clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, nice decor and the best water pressure of any place I've ever stayed. The little extras make this place a gem. Engraved cups for you to purchase.. The Christmas decor was perfect. Loved the night light bubble ornament. Abundant supply of pillows. The location is close to shopping and eating establishments. Walking distance to most. I will be back.

The heater was a little noisy

You can tell the owners really care about this property and their guests. While it is clearly a motel, they try their best to make it feel like home. Towels were good quality, like you might have at home, not typical motel quality. Tiling in the bathroom was modern. Hot cocoa and popcorn was a nice touch. Overall, very comfortable.

The bathroom is a bit small, so you have to kind of slide in. This is no fault of the property, but the other reviews made it sound like the owners would give us a grand welcome and light up the fire pit for guests. Not sure if this is the case generally or if it wasn't for us because the owners were away, but that was a bit disappointing as it was the main reason we decided to stay here on New Year's Eve.

As small business owners Paula & Charlie are very attentive, large chains can’t even compete with them ! Everything you need is in your room for your stay! If they don’t have it they will try to help you out ! Walking distance to restaurants, fire pit, hammocks, grills, nice rocking chairs right outside your room, they offer breakfast delivered to your room as well as an added touch which helps out other small business owners in the community Communication is awesome utilizing text messaging and an immediate response I was here 3 years ago, and made sure on my motorcycle route I could get back again ! Thank you ladies 😊 See you again in the future for sure 👍

we stayed in the suite. it was well appointed and everything was quite clean other than the unfortunate issue that the room had been smoked in. the property is attractive and includes a nice outdoor space. it has cheery decorative lighting outdoors. the proprietor was extremely helpful in doing all she could to mitigate the odor

The location was beautiful. They have a nice little yard with tables, chairs, and a fire pit. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. It’s right off the main road in Maggie Valley, but I didn’t notice any road noise in the room. We had our two dogs with us, so we appreciated the yard and dog-friendly accommodations. We’ll definitely stay here again.

The Cardinal Inn is a really nice boutique motel in Maggie Valley. The owners welcomed us and our puppy super friendly. The room is big, everything you need in it, clean like a 4- or 5-star hotel, the beds comfy, coffee for the morning, fresh towels ...For us, just the perfect 1st stay together with your pup. Great to sit outside the room on your own little patio or together with others at the fireplace to make new friends. Restaurants in walking distance and for endless hiking – the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Great Smoky Mountains just around the corner.

some restaurants were closed on Sunday and Monday and you have to drive 15 minutes to Waynesville, because the restaurants that were open were completely crowded and unable to cope with all the people on Memorial Day. But that has absolutely nothing to do with the nice motel!

the place was cute and comfortable. the room was clean and had a great coffee maker with plenty of complimentary coffee. they even had little bottles of water. they gave extra flat sheets in case our dogs had dirty paws and poop bags in case we didn’t have any. the staff was super friendly and they had a seem less check out.

Everything about our stay. Great thick towels, very clean, all kitchen utensils you need was available, very accommodating, everything you need for the fire is available, great location, loved the heat lights in the bathroom, great size room, wonderful decor in & out of the room, & very home feeling which is what i wanted.

Boutique motel owned by two sisters who are always exceptionally nice and accommodating. We travel to Maggie Valley once per year for the Slingshot Rally. We’ve stayed at Cardinal Inn each time except for the first year. Stayed there on our second trip, and it’s been our go-to spot ever since.
