Best Western Plus Sandusky Hotel & Suites

Clean and spacious Excellent location to restaurants stores and anything else you could need.

The noise from our floor in the evening was very irritating The couple across from us was playing loud music after 10 pm and then woke me up at 1:30 am because they were having an argument in the hallway. The following night someone was smoking marijuana near our room and the whole entire floor smelled horrible and I had to keep my kids out of the hallways due to the change overwhelming stench of it. Thought this was a family hotel.

I’m usually a Hilton customer and let our American Express travel Concierge handle our travel needs. However I was referred to stay at this Best Western after we watched fireworks at Cedar Point. We checked in close to midnight and Rochelle at the front desk was almost over with her shift, however she was still so amazingly friendly, helpful an did an amazing job accommodating us. The facility is very clean, with great showers, beds and upgrades. As a business owner as well, it’s hard to find great staff. However this Best Western Plus in Sandusky had phenomenal staff, including housekeeping. Ironically we had already stayed at Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point for 3 days, but had checked out and headed home until all 3 of our kids heard about the fireworks and wanted to stay to watch. We live in New Albany, OH and decided to stay and watch. We thought we would then drive home, but last minute decided to stay one more night. Hence how we ended up at Best Western. Actually it was our server at Perkins at Hotel Breakers that actually was the one that recommended the Best Western because she used to be in housekeeping at that hotel. She was an amazing server, so I trusted her judgment on the ambiance and cleanliness of the hotel at Best Western. Thank you again to the Best Western Staff- ESPECIALLY Rochelle- who went above and beyond!!! I wish there were more employees like Rochelle at Best Western Plus. The staff was nice and accommodating to the needs of my family and I. Also, the breakfast was good, just wish there was an option for those of us that don't eat pork.

The pool had entirely too much chlorine in it. Being in the pool made it hard to breath and it made my eyes burn. One of the other people that was just sitting in the room watching her children said that it was making her eyes burn and her stomach nauseous.

The property felt clean, modern and welcoming. I checked-in pretty late due to being at Cedar Point during the day. The process was easy and fast and I liked having the option of an express check out the next day by just leaving the key cards in the room. The king bed with the spa bath was really nice and made for a relaxing romantic night. The set-up for the spa bath was a little odd because there was a dial you had to turn on the wall every time you wanted to use the jets or turn on the water. Regardless it worked really well. The space in the room felt nice and big and I thought the beds were pretty comfortable. My fiancé said he loved the pillows.

The only thing I’d say we didn’t like was when we went to open the window in our room, there was a struggle to open and shut it, the levers that push the window open seemed broken.

Liked that they had a suite available with additional room for our family. Liked breakfast area.

Additional towels would be great. Pool was meh- it was like kind of a pool kind of a hot tub but not hot enough- our kids had fun in it anyways! Would have been better if separate room in suite also had bathroom access rather than having to walk through everyone sleeping.

We had the 2 bedroom private suite and that worked out perfectly. The free breakfast was very good and the front desk employee made check in quick and simple.

We only stayed one night and our room key didn’t work both times that we came back to the room. The front desk employee said that they were getting new locks.

Our room was large and comfortable. My evaluation of any stay is the bed - Excellent! The staff was great - cordial at check in and friendly especially as the found me willing to assist when the close washing machine went wrong and we needed to clean up. As we arrived at our next destination, a call was received from Sherrie who in cleaning our room discovered that we had left our IPAD. She handed this off to Krystal who made certain we got the IPAD back as soon as possible.

We are all living with Covid 19 restrictions and precautions. The hotel has a sizable breakfast area which they cut down to limit contact and thus guests eat in their rooms. I think a limited number could be permitted to eat in the space. Additionally the menu, which was expanded a bit could have been more traditional and the room guests were allowed to access ended up not allowing any social distancing. An open doorway and line up in the hall could have been used to permit distance maintained.

Room was very quiet, clean, staff very friendly . Location perfect.

I didn't like the dark colors on outside of building. Carpet inside needs updated. Breakfast was just ok. Rooms little pricey .

Nice large room. Comfortable beds. Very clean except for a couple of stains on the carpet, but sometimes those cannot be removed. Decent location if you are ok with it being a bit far from the park and attractions compared to others hotels in the area, but just a little far depending on what you need it for. The room was very quiet. The place has a nice staff. No real complaints, book without hesitation it it's the right hotel.

These are nitpicky: It was a bit expensive, but I am comparing it similar rooms across the country. For a summer weekend in this area it was ok. A bit far if you want to go to Cedar Point

It was close to cedar point, great price, pretty clean

Breakfast was skimpy and cold, my bathroom definitely could have been clean better there was a lot of hair on the floor in the corner and after we took a shower when the mirror was off all you can see people head wrote in it so obviously the mirror hadn't been cleaned
