The Waldport Inn

The staff make this hotel! Friendly, helpful, communicative and accommodating to our requests. We got called to come to Newport at the last minute, on 4th of July weekend - Yikes! The staff here not only set us up with a room at an extremely affordable rate but they were kind enough to accommodate our pet, too! The price was a fraction of nearby hotels so we weren't sure what to expect but we couldn't have been more impressed with this hotel, the location and the kindness we received. We cannot wait to visit again!!

We could hear our neighbors at times. Not anyone's fault, just an older hotel and a small price to pay for all the good things !

We always stay at the Waldport Inn when we visit my mother-in-law. The employees are always friendly and the rooms are always cleaner than those in any other hotel i've ever been to. We love the fact that it is a small Inn. It has always been a very quiet and relaxing place to stay. I also have to mention that the Waldport Inn has got the most amazing pillows that I have ever slept on. I would love to have one for home. But I always forget to ask where they get them.

Comfortable bed, linens, etc. Also appreciated that there was a mini fridge in the room and a coffee maker.

There was no clear message given about the inability to have the room cleaned daily during my stay until I called the desk at the end of my first day and asked why my room hadn’t been made up/cleaned that day. There were signs in the bathroom about towels on the floor meaning you wanted them replaced and towels on the rack meaning you would use them again which would indicate someone was going to be coming in daily. I totally understood after calling the front desk about Covid and the state regulation regarding that issue but I do think something should be left in the rooms upon arrival to indicate there would be no daily cleaning with instructions on when/how to get clean linens, etc.

I had arranged a pet friendly room... they had a special basket with dog supplies to make ours and Cooper's stay a easefilled time. Their pet agreement page was very cleverly written and fun to sign and comply with We loved the dimmer switch on the nightstand lamp too. The room was compact, yet had everything we wanted or needed even some smart, thoughtful things we've not seen elsewhere.

We would love to have our "first of the morning" room coffee have some flavor... even doubling the packs made no difference. The blackout window shade was nice, but ours just had a rolling-up issue. These are small issues that in no way diminished our enjoyable experience.

The room was spotless and comfortable. They were thoughtful about the furniture. My room had a fold-down table, which is an excellent use of space. Additionally, the bed was very comfortable, and I got a great night's sleep. As a side bonus, they offered plenty of pillows.

The walls are a bit thin and I could hear the people move around in the other room. The hotel did have ear plugs in the room. So, the hotel has addressed this issue. I also thought the parking lot and spaces were a bit on the small size. I drive a minivan and it felt a bit snug. I would not want to park an SUV or full-sized truck there.

The room was very clean and well stocked. There was even a towel & blanket for our dog. The staff was exceptionally polite and helpful. We will definitely stay there again if we are in Waldport. However, because of lack of insulation between the floors, we would only stay in a 2nd floor room.

We were in a bottom floor room and the guests that were in the 2nd floor arrived around 1:30am and it sounded like a foot race, They were very noisy. The next morning they started walking around about 6:30a back and forth again lasting over an hour.

The decor was very nice, sharp ~ liked the curtains, painting, furniture and we appreciate the cleanliness! Also, Thank you for the doggie treasures, Maggie liked em’ too. Even tho we’re not smokers, we did like the designated smoking area, it’s a nice area to sit outside to drink some wine or coffee and just chat for a bit. The desk clerk was especially helpful and nice!

Unfortunately, Waldport Inn cannot make a better pet area, it’s all concrete. No grass area ;(. Why isn’t there a microwave in the room? Definitely need TWO(2) chairs in the room.

There was an awesome young lady at the front desk who greeted me with a warm smile and was super friendly! She upgraded our room on short notice due to availability and I was stoked! It was close to shops and far away from a lot of tourist junk! So happy! Will definitely come back! Rooms were clean, and well stocked!

Loved everything. Just wish there was ac. And maybe a snack/ drink machine, but nothing major. Noticed several guests smoking out side the non smoking hotel. That was my only major bummer as an asthmatic.

Was clean and bed was comfortable. Was close to places to get something to eat. I liked that it had a ceiling fan as am finding most motels do not have A/C on the coast. Could hear neighbors through the walls.

I was expecting a microwave which it did not have. I have not been to a motel without a microwave for years. Was kind of a shock it did not have one. No A/C. Price was a little high for just a normal room. Took a walk along the river and the sand was like mud and sunk the whole way to the bridge.

Where do I start? This little INN blew me away! We just happened to book it because there was no availability in Newport with EV charging stations and booking.com suggested this as an alternative. So we booked it knowing nothing about Waldport or the INN. They have a covered garage charging station with 4 Tesla chargers providing up to 16 kW (80A 240V) and a J1772 charger providing up to 7.2 KW. Clearly the owners made the effort to do things right. The chargers are free if you are a hotel guest. We were then greeted with the warmest of welcomes by Ne Ne. She is a ray of sunshine and we instantly loved her! After almost two weeks of being on the road from southern California she was the most refreshing, kind, accommodating, friendly, informative, and efficient front desk employee we had encountered. No one else on our trip gave us the welcome she did. She also gave us some suggestions on where to have a great meal. We stayed in a ground floor king room which felt like an oasis when we opened the door. It was quiet, aesthetically extremely pleasing, with lovely vinyl flooring and everything in perfect condition. It was exceptionally clean, and the bed, linens, duvet, and pillows were heavenly. Lots of very thoughtful touches such as a heating lamp in the bathroom, shower curtain with a detachable liner, small in wall night light by the bathroom door, hooks to hang personal clothing, real hangers, soap dish for the bar soap on the vanity, fabulous sink/vanity, coffee/tea station, lamps with electrical outlets, huge beautiful tv with great channels, a very quiet effective GE ceiling fan, and Hunter Douglas black out roll blind for the main window. The beach is a 3 minute walk away and the wifi was strong and fast. The owners of this establishment care and they care a lot about their property, it is very clear to see. I would support that again and again.
