Wingate by Wyndham Altoona Downtown/Medical Center

All the staff was WONDERFUL, Especially the 3 ladies 2 started with names starting in J I'm pretty sure 1 lady named Pam & one gentleman who helped me in the late afternoon/ evening all who work at Reception! They were considerate, thoughtful, and most helpful! Also, the gentleman who brought me towels & an extra sheet, was SO POLITE and thoughtful. The room we were in was very pretty and exactly what we requested. Price was reasonable. Bed was VERY comfortable

2 nights, Our neighbors we pretty noisy at night.( 2nd floor). But not all night. It didn't get so bad. We didnt complain

Breakfast was usual scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, bagels with cream cheese, tea, coffee, milk, juice, jogurt, etc. It was good, we filled up well. There was planty of room to sit down and eat in the modern eating area. There was a bar for those who wanted to drink at night. Lots of free parking space. The area is not so inviting, but it seemed safe. The view from the hill is quite nice. We visited the famous Horseshoe Curve, well that was something! The view from the hill top and the trains were awesome!

The area where the hotel was built (brand new hotel) is not the best part of the city, but it seemed that some sort of renovation was going on in the area. We took a walk to the cathedral up the hill, encountered some weird people, but nothing happened.

The room was exceptionally clean. The beds were comfortable; the pool was awesome and heated for nighttime swimming. Conveniently located to the beach, shopping, and many different types of restaurants. The staff was welcoming and accommodating.

There was some inconsistency with the elevator working properly, and the water in the shower could have been warmer. It would be nice to have a couple of chairs outside the rooms for early morning/nighttime sitting.

Staff accommodation was wonderful. We were staying because of a family crisis. Because our loved one was critically (and, eventually, terminal) ill, we had to request extension of our stay daily. The front office staff was incredible- they did everything they could to keep us in the same room. Ginger searched everywhere for some extra pillows and worked so hard to keep us in our room during a very busy week.

It would be nice to have more variety with breakfast items- we had the exact same options every morning X 3 days. We also stayed at a Hampton Inn in Indiana and they offered different things every day without breaking the bank.

Good location, clean rooms, breakfast was pretty good with a wide selection to choose from

Room service never came back:( on Day 3 when they were to give fresh sheets and towels we asked them to come back in 10 minutes after we had left so us and our service dogs were out of the way, that night when we got back they hadn't come at all! We also had to deal with loud banging above our heads at all hours of the night but we're too tired to do anything about it

Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good.

Did not like that the room was only attended to every third day and we were only staying three days. We had to contact the front desk when we ran out of items. They were quick to response. We are used to the kind of service that we received prior to Covid. There is no reson to give up good service because of that.

The Breakfast was excellent, as was the room and cleanliness. The step in shower was better than perfect. Just what we wanted

We wanted to walk to a restaurant and was given directions to a couple of places but theses were not to our taste[Pizza and a wine type eatery). Next time we will definitely drive to a better area for food This was the only downside of our stay at your hotel

we asked for extra towels in the evening and was told there were none (how does a hotel run out of towels)? we had 3 people in our room, only 2 towels, 1 conditioner and no shampoo. my sister had 3 adults and 2 kids with 2 towels. the front desk did bring up pool towels which are very small, but they worked.

Pleasant and helpful staff upon arrival. The bed was comfy and that shower......HUGE!. His name escapes but the breakfast guy...cool NJ dude! Did his job very well and happy. Our last night there we sat at the bar. Had some drinks and bar food. Great bartender. Knew her stuff and pleasant to talk to .

The shower did leak water on the floor in the bathroom.

this is an excellent hotel. very well situated, clean, safe, comfortable with great amenities. this is where I will always stay when in Altoona and it’s sad times when I have to stay elsewhere if not available.

Nothing not to really though staffing levels meant the on site bar wasn’t open on this trip. the bar food here on previous visits has been good and mega convenient after a long day.
