Altoona Grand Hotel

I was not able to actually stay in the room.....long story....due to a delayed flight in Pitts I was unable to make the stay here....BUT something to be said about staff they did allow me to utilize the showers 4 hours after the actual check out AFTER i was able to attend the meetings that required my travel....so at least I could return to airport clean and shaven.....My experience with travels and prepaid reservations is that this WAS really a bit unexpected yet very much appreciated have had similar circumstances in the past that hotel management would have charged another day just to do so. I am grateful.

the indoor court is so pretty and the pool area is very nice. great food at the restaurant and staff is very nice

the water in the shower never got more then warm our whole stay… my daughter was lucky if she could get a full shower before it got cold. I cousin t even get a shower after her because there was not enough hot water at all actually the water was never what I would even call hot. breakfast wasn’t worth it by the time we went down the second day there was like nothing

It was a really nice hotel in a great location with a lot of restaurants and stores nearby, and the price was good for 3 nights especially on a holiday weekend. The rooms were clean and the staff was very nice and helpful! The pool is super nice and it’s heated. The breakfast was really good as well as was the food at the restaurant inside the hotel. I highly recommend booking this hotel, it’s worth it. We would definitely stay here again.

if I had to say anything bad it’d just be that the one lamp didn’t work and the bathroom door wouldn’t latch but that wasn’t really a big deal to us.

I love the hotel and the amenities it had. The pool and restaurant/bar was a nice amenity to have. Food in the restaurant was excellent.

The continental breakfast was not all that great. Some donuts, toast, bagels, and cold cereal. Breakfast options could have been better. Also the toaster burnt the toast. The beds were firm but not all that comfortable. I don't like having smaller than standard pillows. But that seems to be the norm over the last 2 hotels we have stayed at.

nice atrium pool area, more than adequate onsite restaurant & grouse nest bar decent prices, room was large enough for 2 queens. close to shopping & restaurants Outback in the parkin lot, 1/2 mile from highway good location.

They should keep the kitchen & Grouse Nest open later & have shortened late night bar & room service menu.

Location was great. Housekeepers were so friendly and room was very clean.

breakfast was a disaster. Constantly out of food, milk, utensils, etc. (we stayed 4 nights in last month) there was one gentleman one morning who kept it stocked and clean. Other 3 mornings smaller guy who seemed to not care. Breakfast area never cleaned between guests.

Plenty of food for breakfast including homemade pancakes. I got into the pool to relax after our long drive from North Carolina, I was able to get extra blankets for our beds along with pillows. Thanks to the staff for their service.

The weather was cold in 60 degrees so extra blankets was requested.

the lobby was very pretty. the room was spacious and had some updated details. the staff was very friendly. the room and amenities were clean.

while the place is renovated, there are a lot of cracks and old details left behind that just make the place look sad/drab. some attention to the small details would be very good.

The property was super close to everything love the location . Mike at the front desk very awesome guy very informative knew everything about the place and area deserves a raise

Needs more options at breakfast but the restaurant menu was awesome and very reasonable but over all stay was solid

Beautiful facility. You could tell that some things were dated, but overall beautiful. The heated indoor pool was amazing and a great size. The staff was very welcoming and extremely friendly and helpful.

There really wasn't anything we didn't like other than getting lost trying to find the washer and dryer. Every hallway has the exact same carpeting in at times you feel like you're in a maze.
