Candlewood Suites - Lancaster West, an IHG Hotel

There was no breakfast

The staff at our check-in was not welcoming or friendly or professional. We asked about local eateries for recommendations and we were told to "just google it." There were no smiles, no extra chatting, just very bland. The staff at check out was very nice though.

WE NEVER STAYED AT A IHG HOTEL BEFORE. SO WE WERE SO SHOCKED TO SEE A FULL KITCHEN IN THE ROOM, THE ROOM WAS PERFECT FOR 3 ADULT PEOPLE. THE TABLE WAS PERFECT FOR EATING AT, THERE WAS EVEN A RECLINER IN THE ROOM. THAT WAS PERFECT FOR ME BECAUSE HALF THE NIGHT I SLEEP SITTING UP AND THE RECLINER WAS PERFECT PERFECT FOR ME. THE STAFF WAS SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL IN EVEN BOOKING OUR FUTURE STAYS FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR AND WE JOINED IHG REWARDS AS WELL.

YOU NEED MORE HANDICAP SPACES FOR PARKING. THERE WERE ONLY A COUPLE IN FRONT AND 2 IN BACK AND EVERY TIME WE CAME THEY WERE TAKEN.

The staff I encountered was pleasant and welcoming. The little store inside the lobby was well stocked and very convenient and it was quiet. Having a kitchen is a plus and the room itself was a nice size and unlike many other hotels I've been to, we could actually open our bedroom windows for fresh air. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would go again.

The hallways and elevator had a unidentifiable strong odor that wasn't pleasant (hopefully that's not the norm). The door to our room wasn't set properly and made a loud grinding/nails on a chalk board sound everything we opolened it. Lastly, the wall of kitchen appliances shown in the advertisement was all but empty and disappointing. All things that could easily be remedied and not a huge deal at all.

Not a big breakfast eater, it tends to make me sick. He liked it a lot though. Room was big. Had lots of room in the bathroom. Has an exhaust fan, one of my pet peeves. All bathes must have them.

Some juice. I really wanted juice Friday a.m. and there was none of any kind. We bought hamburger for Saturday evening decided we would make Manwiches. didn't think about not having can opener. Maybe a small under the cabinet light in kitchen.

Clean. Good location.

We had 2 couples that went. We asked to be put beside eachother. We booked in plenty of time to accommodate this yet it was not. We were on separate floors the1st and 4th. Made it hard as we shared coolers. Booking failed to keep our rooms together as asked. Also on booking it said they has limited breakfast food. It neglected to say you had to buy them nothing is included in your room.

Size of the Queen Studio was spacious. Standard room is similar to the Queen studio accept it's smaller. The staff were very accommodating and very helpful. They helped us with our dog since she got out the room...lol.

I had a different view of my room, which sadden me when I arrived. One person did not like the mattress, not comfortable. The Queen Studio looked just like the standard room, but longer and spacious. Stove only works when the timer is on...smh. I thought my food was cooking at one moment and I realized the timer stopped...

I really enjoyed the chain clean and also the use of washer and dryer free of charge that was the best experience.

On Saturday around 2 PM going on to about midnight the hotel allowed a group of people to have a gathering right outside the hotel guest window. They played extremely loud music. I had to go down and complain. The gentleman at the desk went out and to speak with them and the noise ended. I chose this hotel because of the amenities such a swimming pool however the pool was our order and I wish that they were notified me before check in

The staff was exceptional!! easy check in was able to receive a late check out. it ended up snowing my car is horrible in the snow. the staff late night crew came out saw I was having trouble getting out and pushed my car didn’t even ask for help. where else would someone do that🤷‍♀️ I was in awe. I sat employee of the year should go to them. think her name was Jess and the maintenance guy. 5 ⭐️

I couldn’t find the ice should of asked. the elevator made a scary noise and the t.v flickered but told them when checked out which was also very easy and helpful.

Location right off of Route 30 was perfect for us. The person who checked us in was friendly and efficient. Candlewood Suites is one of our go to hotels whenever we travel.

The ice maker in the room was very slow so we ended up getting ice (free for guests) from the little food pantry near the front desk. Not a huge inconvenience.

Apartment size fridge with ice maker in room was great. The kitchen area was good and well outfitted. The bed was comfortable. Good place for a 3 night stay, the location is near a grocery store, gas stations and restaurants.

Road construction made getting into the hotel difficult.
