Candlewood Suites I-26 @ Northwoods Mall, an IHG Hotel

The rooms were updated and comfortable. There was also plenty of parking. I only parked in the spaces right in front of the hotel, but the parking lot seemed to be decently lit (very important for families or those traveling solo). The staff were all very welcoming and willing to answer our questions. Great customer service! The location is also great! There were several restaurants, the mall, and other retail stores all within a short distance. It was also not far from I-26 so it was easy to travel to various places in Charleston.

Honestly, there isn't much I did not like. I would have personally preferred queen-sized beds. Also, I would suggest providing some sort of bag to bring down soiled towels in exchange for clean towels.

The room was awesome! The hotel doesn't provide breakfast, but it was easy enough to go to the store and grab something. The room was clean and extremely comfortable. Also, I loved that they had full sized shampoo, conditioner, and soap in the shower.

The only niggle naggle was that both the shampoo and conditioner bottles seemed to have shampoo in them. But, that is a small complaint versus an excellent stay.

The beds were very comfortable. The room was a little outdated but nice for the price. The staff was friendly. Love that the location was near the mall and that we didn't have to drive far for food or the grocery store.

Woke up at 3am to use the bathroom and noticed a roach crawling on the nightstand.

Was pleased to see that they have been freshening this place up since my last stay 4 months ago. New carpeting. Fresh paint. New furniture. New drapes. Even the elevator has been updated...

Not much to complain about.

The staff here are tremendous!! Special thanks to Trevor and all the front desk folks for making my stay pleasurable. They were marvelously responsive and kind. Thank you for all of your help!

The female staffers were very friendly and kind. The room was clean, and comfortable. It was nice having a kitchenette for extended stay. It was nice being across the way from the mall.

The day I was checking out I had a maid try and come in my room abruptly at 8 am. I had a long night and didn’t sleep well, I was finally asleep. I opened the door and she was halfway down the hall and apologized. Then the same thing happened again around 10 am, this time a different maid was at the door saying she was told to clean the room. I told her I was checking out later I didn’t need it cleaned but she kept saying she was told to. I ended up closing the door. Then about 30 minutes later you phone rang and and make receptionist asked if I was checking out or staying! I told him I was checking out at the time I told the receptionist the night before, 1230. ( I had requested a late check out)

The staff was friendly and responsive to our needs and requests. If there was a problem the immediately tried to correct it.

The elevator was not friendly. I got hit by the doors closing several times. The didn't always retract immediately.

The rooms could have been cleaner- stains (spilled liquid or pet stains) on the carpet and build up in the corners of the floor. Beds were comfortable and kitchen setup was great. Excellent location near the mall and plenty of restaurants. Only took us 17 minutes to get to the market district to do our tours.

Unfortunately, the room above us must had a bunch of kids because they kept running and stomping till 1-2 am each night and it kept us up.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.. My second day was not pleasant my kids came down for my son birthday and the room wasn’t ready the host said she didn’t have any rooms available because people extended there stay and other people had reservations and I told her I have reservations also and she stated I couldn’t pay because no rooms was available I had to leave and come back to check on the room after letting the supervisor no what happen she said it was a room getting clean now if the host would’ve ask the staff from the beginning about what rooms are available I could’ve enjoy our family outing and not run back to the hotel to check on the rooms availability.

The host was rude when I was checking in she didn’t care about us booking a room on time and if we had a place to stay... I told her I had a reservation and she said that don’t guarantee your booking.. That was poor customer service and disrespectful...

I liked how well-lit the parking lot was at night. We checked-in fairly late (12am) the receptionist greeted us with such a good mood and asked how our drive was, and even recommended some good breakfast places.

Only thing that caught my eye was our curtains they were a little dirty,bother than that I’ll definitely be staying here again when we return to the area.
