Fairfield Inn and Suites Charleston North/University Area

I liked how it was close to most of the fast food restaurants, & overall it was a very quiet hotel, except for a couple of minor things. The parking for guests was great, because you didn't have to worry about parking too far away from the entrance.

I didn't like the fact that you could hear every single vehicle that was going down the road, & one other guests tv, when the website said it was soundproof. Also, the 2 days we were there, not one time did housekeeping ask if we needed anything.

From the time we walked into the lobby, everything was nice and clean. Staff was friendly. Bed was super comfortable.

Literally the only thing we didn’t like about our stay was the breakfast. it was all pre-packaged food and it was nasty! It tasted so bad we wound up throwing it away and going out to buy breakfast.

The location is close to I-95. It is walking distance to multiple restaurants, short distance to military bases and a short drive to downtown Charleston. The hotel is not too large, so it's quick to get to your room. Since it's only 3 floors, the stairs are convenient. It has both a microwave and refrigerator in the room. The bathroom was cleaner than most other bathrooms in hotels that I've stayed in. There were also soft and hard pillows.

I was only there for one night as a "pit stop" on the way home, so I didn't really get the full experience to notice anything unpleasant.

Hot breakfasts were awesome. Really liked the variety to choose for breakfast. The hotel was small and cosy, with pool and hot tub. Quite fast to get to the city centre. There are plenty of shops to eat around. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Little bit missed everyday cleaning. Amenities are looking old, but very clean and tidy.

The staff was pleasant. We were greeted every time we entered or exited the building.

The building had a strange smell. Almost like it had been fumigated. Did not smell like disinfectants. Just a very strong, odd smell in the whole building.

The staff was awesome!! The 2 guys that worked Wednesday night (july14) was absolutely wonderful! Very friendly! Lobby was clean and fresh.

My room didn’t have an Ice maker and the fridge wasn’t that cold. The juice machine wasn’t working and that was a bummer; but over all was a good stay

Breakfast was poor. Just pre packaged breakfast sandwiches which are not very good. COVID is no excuse , especially in the south. Northern properties have scrambled eggs, etc.

I didn’t like the fact that the night worker at the front desk took the liberty to sign me up for no room service on his own.

It's far from the city centre but still nice location with restaurants and shops around.

The breakfast it's not best ,everything is prepackaged, not many fresh things to chose.
