Hyatt Place North Charleston

I loved the location, the staff, and the property was very clean and super comfortable. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The breakfast was awesome and very filling. I was a front office manager in New York City, and I am very critical about properties when I go to stay, but this property was outstanding. The front office staff was always courteous and attentive to each guest. Thank you for such an amazing getaway. I will be back!

There was nothing not to like. The only thing I would hope is improved are the elevators. They are super slow, but they were clean as well.

We've stayed at this hotel several times, and they always are fantastic! They were able to accommodate last minute changes and gave us a very comfortable place to stay during our visit to friends.

The only issues we had the entire stay was a slow, malfunctioning elevator, and when we first arrived, there was a water main issue being actively repaired in front of the hotel which caused some initial water pressure issues; but it was quickly resolved, and the water pressure returned immediately.

The only thing we didn't like is the dog barking noise caused by other visitors and it takes quite some time for the staff to have it under control.

Beautiful and spacious room. Comfortable beds.

Having to step almost in bathtub to open bathroom door to get out of the bathroom. No microwave in room or accessible downstairs to heat up my leftovers.

The hotel is in a great location not too far from the beach maybe 15 to 20 min. Not too far from shops and restaurants. Wal mart is not far maybe 6 mins. The front desk staff was nice. The hotel was mostly clean except for some left over hair in the shower ☹️. The bed was comfortable.

Hair in the shower. Limited breakfast options. There was a smell in the hallway (smelled like a full baby diaper) when I first got there. But as soon as I got there I left out to meet my friends at the beach and it smelled better when I got back. The door didn't close all the way once it's closed. You have to push or pull it in to make sure its closed.

Room was clean, good size, and comfortable.

Hotel had only 2 luggage carts. Neither was available for over 1 hour prior to check out. Staff had to go and search for them. In the lobby, a sign should be installed stating that the carts have a 15 minute period time of use and need to be returned to the lobby when finished. Or a $5 dollar deposit should be given to the front desk for the cart. Upon returning to the lobby within a given time limit the deposit will be given back to the guest.

Almost everything! It was modern and clean. Our room was beautiful with all spaces well thought out and efficient. No space was wasted yet it wasn’t crowded and we could move in it freely. Beautiful lobby and breakfast area too!

Only one thing. Every time we came through the lobby all I could smell was bleach. Sometimes it was so strong it burned my eyes and nose. Perhaps changing to non-toxic cleaners and disinfectants? Fortunately, the rooms did not smell this way or we would not have been able to stay.

The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Everyone was ready to assist in answering any questions. When we arrived, the front desk eagerly welcomed us to the hotel. The coffee and variety of creamer in the morning was awesome!

We stayed for 4 days and they said that they would clean the room on the third day, which was okay, but when they cleaned on the 3rd day they did not do a deep clean by any means. Instead, they emptied the waste basket, put in some new soaps and towels, and didn't do a great job making the bed. I was hoping for more of a deep clean that 3rd day, or maybe even coming in and doing what little they did do on a daily basis instead. Also would have loved a more of a variety on the breakfast bar that included some local favorites, so you really felt that you were in the Charleston area.

The reception desk is simple and maybe not as sophisticated as one would expect from a Hyatt hotel.. The room was nice and big enough for a large bed and couch. The breakfast was okay: grits, eggs and breakfast meat, cereal (cheerios, fruit loops, granola, and rice krispies) and milk, orange and apple juice, sliced bread with toaster, tea/coffee, choice of green apples or bananas as fruit, yogurt, jam/jelly/honey. The pool was heated just enough and clean, but isn't very deep. The hotel is close to restaurants, stores, and gas stations, which is convenient. Overall, a good place to stay the night.

There wasn't enough hot water for all the guests in the morning, so I had to take a cold shower. When I informed the receptionist, she told me to try again in the evening, which wasn't possible since I stayed one night only. There's no view, as the hotel is in a commercial area along other hotels.

The room was very clean, and all the staff was great.

I didn't like that there was know microwave in the room.
