Hyatt Regency Austin

Room 1416, it was lake side and a incredible view of Austin city lights! We also were right next to where the bats come out from the bridge, it was a birds eye view from our room our a short pleasant walk on the inner urban trail to a perfect gound level view where the bats fly out every evening at dusk! The food was great and convenient at the bar! We had some cold beer, ordered chips salsa and steak fajitas. The chips were not worth $12 but the steak fajitas were very good! We would definitely order the fajitas again! Parking was convenient, there is some kind of buss tour pick up and drop off in the front parking lot? Anyway I think because of that the parking at the entrance was desperate pay from the hotel. Turned out that the hotel has valet parking to their parking garage, it would be a 30% more cost over not using valet parking. All and all we can't wait for our next opportunity to stay there again, we would just love if we could stay in one of the rooms with a balcony!

It was all a great experience! No complaints except for one! The bar didn't have blue moon on tap! But we managed with Michelob ultra! Lol 😂

At checking in Pablo at the reception told us, after asking him if breakfast is included or not, that breakfast is complimentary. The next morning when we went to breakfast nobody knew anything about our complimentary breakfast. After telling them what we were told at checking in we received the complimentary breakfast that day only. I went down at front desk to speak with Pablo abd he seemed annoyed about it and denied having told me that breakfast is complimentary. I read the comments on booking and my case is not the only one like this.

The room was very clean and fresh feeling. The front desk staff was very nice. Liked the Pharmacopeia toiletries in the bathroom. Was able to cast my phone to the TV screen. Good location to walk to a variety of restaurants.

The food at the restaurant was average and overpriced. The cost to park in the garage was ridiculous when you could park right outside the door for 2/3 the cost. There could have been another chair in the room other than the desk chair. Everything was good, but nothing was "OMG Wow." Unless you are there to attend "Batfest, " you may want to choose another hotel or a different date to stay. Obviously, it was no fault of the hotel, but the music outside across the bridge was so loud we could hear and feel it in our room even with the TV on.

Overall the property was amazing & the staff was very pleasant & attentive.

The restaurant staff seemed not to pay very good attention to orders or their customers. My husband has a tomato food allergy & we reported it to the waitress, his food was still served with tomatoes. This simple mistake could have been a serious issue if we weren’t able to see the tomatoes & he would have accidentally ate it. We also spent a lot of time waiting during our visit to be attended to. The wait staff was many times hard to locate or gathered at the bar talking amongst each other not paying attention to the surroundings when we tried to get their attention. The restaurant manager was very friendly & apologetic about the food being served wrong.

We stayed here 3 nights. Hyatt Regency is a smart hotel just over the bridge from downtown. Our room was a good size with a big very comfortable bed. It’s an easy walk to get to all the fun, but far enough away to be relaxing too. The pool is smallish but has amazing views and plenty of beds, we managed to find a shady spot which was needed after a day under the hot Texas sun. The hotel has a very big reception area with plenty of places to relax and chill out and a nice patio overlooking the trail. We would definitely stay again if we were visiting Austin.

The breakfast seemed very overpriced at $26 per person, we didn’t try it and chose to eat elsewhere. But we may have done if it were more in the region of the $16 we were expecting. Even the on-site Starbucks seemed to have inflated their coffee prices at $6 a cup. The little shop was poorly stocked too although they did have very nice ice cream rubs.

I was charged $176 for a dinner that I did not order. The charge even appeared the day before I checked into the hotel . When I protested , the staff told me she will investigate this but the charge still remained . This makes no sense , why should I have to incur cost for something that the hotel messed up with . It was not until I pressed to see manager that the charges were removed .

The location of the hotel is great! My husband and I stay there at least two times every summer. It is right on the lake which is perfect. Our view this time was of the lake and it's beautiful. The room was great, but there were four wall outlets in the room that did not work.

Great location for walking around downtown Austin and bat viewing at Congress bridge and far enough away from 6th street so there wasn't too much noise outside. The hotel honored my request to be placed on a high floor (got 11) but not a river view or away from elevators (river view cost $12 extra per night). Pool was nice with a view of the skyline and a small hot tub area.

Quite expensive for room and parking. Pool was on the small side and was only 6 ft deep max. We selected on our room panel thing to have the room cleaned when we left at 10 am but when we got back at 9pm it hadn't been cleaned. Housekeeping didn't show up until before 10 am the next morning, right before we were going to check out.

The location is perfect for exploring the best bits of the city! Central, but perfect for observing the bats, buying cowboy boots up South Congress, seeing the Capitol building, walking loops round ladybird lake!

loved it ! Even used the pool this time- cleverly built overlooking the river, but higher than the path- so you have privacy and a lovely view!

The room was lovely and spacious. Wonderful shower and bath amenities. The location couldn't have been better. I could walk to everything on South Congress and along the river. The bat bridge was right there and it was SO COOL. Check the QR code posted on the fence down there to see what times the bats are expected to depart. The view was beautiful. nothing but river and trees and cityscapes.
