We absolutely loved Flame and Raven very nice and sweet people love the room love the bed so comfortable kind of open our eyes up to new things cuz they were into recycling and like shampoos and stuff with no perfumes in them don't know where to buy stuff like that but it's an eye opener but like I said they were very nice people and I would recommend anyone to stay in their home next time we go and spend the night in Charlottesville will stay there again. P.S. Flame is a wonderful artist I wish I had the extra money to buy one of her masterpieces who knows maybe next time
Nothing everything was wonderful.

A wonderful place to stay. A lovely neighbourhood outside the main centre of Charlottesville but not too far away. The hosts are fantastic and are true dedicated environmentalists. I felt so good psychologically to be staying at such an eco friendly guest house who are professionals at saving water and looking after the environment. The gentleman host who gave me the induction was very funny too, not just funny but hilarious. The price is excellent and I would highly recommend this place especially to environmentalists
No TV, I love watching American TV

This guesthouse is a gem. I would highly recommend it. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood but very easy to drive downtown or to UVA. (I had my own car) The owners are amazing! They were able to let me check in early because of a change of event times. They are very responsive with questions about the area & customer service in general. Make sure to check out their website as part of your research. Breakfast is DIY - but they offer so many options. The items are organic, local and/or fair trade. There is one shared bathroom for the rooms, but I didn't have any issues waiting on it for use.
N/A - stay was perfect

This is a cosy and affordable alternative to a hotel whether you’re staying for a few days or need a crash pad between North and South when you’re on a long road trip. Raven and Flame are exemplary hosts. The breakfasts are DIY but the basic ingredients are top notch - coffee, tea, milk, fantastic fresh eggs, good quality bread and butter and jams, oats and fruits! It’s a 25 minute walk to the historic downtown and a $7.77 uber to anywhere!
Everything was great - as long as you understand this is a home and not a hotel so revise your expectations accordingly.

Owners were very friendly and accommodating, they really wanted us to feel welcomed and at home. Free parking right outside the front door! Local restaurants and breweries were wonderful! Being able to come and go freely was very nice. Breakfast options were all organic. We could cook on our terms and timeline, which was very important since we needed to depart very early. Organic fruit for the road was much appreciated. Common areas had lots of plants, art, and games. Very interesting, relaxed atmosphere, and very hospitable hosts! I even bought some unique artistic gifts made by the owner. We will definitely seek out this property in the future when we are in the area.
Just a personal preference, but the bed was too soft. We think the memory foam mattress was new, but not our preference. We like a firm mattress, and I was on my way to an outdoor adventure on the AT sleeping on the ground. It would be great to have the option of choosing a room based on the mattress in the future. Decor was like being at home. Facilities were very clean. Fluffy linens laundered in scent/fragrance-free detergent, much appreciated. Shower was hot and relaxing, but grout work and paint could use an update. We didn't have enough time to really engage with the owners. They seem to be wonderful people with creative minds, would have been nice to stay longer to know them better.

Flame and Raven are very friendly, explain everything and are very involved in making sure guests have a good stay. As a result of various delays on the road we didn't get to Charlottesville until 12:30 AM but they still met us when we got in and showed us around. The guesthouse is exactly that - their house, so the experience is different from staying in a hotel, but we liked it. Location is good, assuming you have your own car you are only a few minutes' drive from the center of Charlottesville.
It's a guesthouse, not a hotel, so you have to be aware of the fact that you're staying in someone else's house.

Raven and Flame were wonderful hosts - very friendly and easy-going. I ended up buying several pieces of artwork for a friend's wedding present, which was an added bonus. Parking was easy out front of the house. The location was close to the downtown area of Charlottesville and convenient to most places I was going. It is in an older, but safe neighborhood.
The room is in an older house, so voices carry up through the vent in the room. I ended up putting earplugs in to be able to sleep late, but this was an easy solution.

I liked the vibe of Fairhaven. You feel right at home. Flame has her art work and Jewelry for purchase which was super cool. It was a very trusting and open feel. You make your own breakfast just like at home. Tons of plants and the air feels clean and crisp. They compost, recycle, and are solar. I felt great staying here.
The only complaint I could share is the bed in Blue Ridge Room was very noisy so every time you readjusted in the bed it would wake you and your partner up.

we had the whole inn for our family which included me (grandmother), my daughter and son-in-law and their 2-yr old.Toddlers can be noisy but this was never an issue. Raven and Flame checked on s multiple times, and helped us to find things that we needed. it was private and had an easy access to a park next too which had 2 playgrounds and lots of open space. the location is so convenient to the pedestrian mall, Ix Art Park, Monticello and other C’ville attractions. stocked with lots of organic breakfast food, and I love the emphasis on environmental responsibility!
only one bathroom was a challenge at times but this was a very minor inconvenience.

owners extremely nice and interesting; very calm & welcoming place
only one bathroom shared by three guest rooms; AC set on a temp that was personally warm for me; unkempt yard —- All of those things were completely addressed by owners who were willing to change temperature setting & one bathroom was known at time of booking & yard work being done when we left. so, no negativity of either towards the establishment but rather just my personal note.
