Quirk Hotel Charlottesville

Very comfortable bed & bedding

The thermostat would not go any lower than 68, which was way too warm in my opinion. I understand setting controls for cooling to 64, like many hotels do…but this felt extreme. It was especially frustrating to have such a comfortable bed & bedding but I had difficulty sleeping because the room was much too warm. My only other issue was how dim the lighting was in the bathroom. Again…you hit the mark with a lovely bathroom in so many ways, but it was so difficult to see when getting ready in the morning because the lighting was not nearly as adequate as most hotels.

Had a short one night stay to attend a concert in the Downtown Mall area. It's a quick 5-8 minute walk to the Mall area, and there are also restaurants all around the hotel. The valet service area in front of the hotel was a bit challenging and chaotic when we arrived, due to traffic on the main road and several guests arriving at the same time, but service was friendly. Check-in was easy and friendly as well. There was a free cocktail tasting for guests the night we were there, which was a nice touch. The king room was a nice size and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed a couple of drinks on the rooftop deck, which was lovely. Would definitely stay here again!

Limited space in front of hotel for valet service, but this was only an issue when several cars arrived at the same time to check-in.

2-queen Room was spacious, comfortable, beautifully furnished and well designed. I liked pocket door on bath, layout of room, and layout of guest rooms on each floor, which kept sounds of other guests to a minimum. Electric window shade for blackout was truly effective. Rooftop bar offered great views and friendly service.

Tiny whine: setting the provided bedside clocks/alarms to the correct local time is more mysterious than it should be.

It is an art gallery too! Art in the hallways, art in the lobby, and a full gallery in the lower level. The whole place is phenomenal. Make sure to visit Boboo, the attached speakeasy inspired bar. The bar tender is a true artist, makes all his flavorings and mixes on site and has a deep knowledge of distilled spirits! This isn’t the lobby bar, it’s in a separate side building but still part of the hotel complex.

Love the boutique of the hotel. Afternoon/evening front staff was superb. Loved their friendliness and helpfulness to answer questions and get information for us.

Daytime front staff was not helpful. Upon check in, asked if there was a nearby trashcan to dispose of a small piece of garbage, the front staff person stated all trash cans were full. Very unprofessional.

Gorgeous new hotel in the center of everything, amazing art work on walls and even an art gallery, fabulous lobby and rooftop bars, cafe on site with a lovely courtyard, wonderful food and cocktails—one of my favorite hotels ever!

I felt like the bathroom in the room could have been cleaner. It was too bad because everything else was perfect.

The hotel is beautiful, stylish and well maintained. The rooftop bar has a wonderful cocktail menu with a good GF pizza option. The art gallery is a nice touch!

Lack of self parking option but that’s understandable given the area.

The location is great. It's a short walk to the mall. The rooftop bar is really nice, I enjoyed sitting outside and taking in the view.

The building next door is noisy and has bright lights. The blackout shades don't really block all the light. It was difficult to sleep with light and noise all night.

The managers and staff completely loved our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Gus —- totally spoiled him! Our room was beautiful, spacious, and extremely clean. Loved the floor to ceiling windows in our deluxe king room and the electric window shades. The lobby lounge was ver comfortable and stylish for happy hour and the valet staff were very helpful and prompt. We also enjoyed a lovely Sunday brunch at the Pink Grouse before our departure. We will definitely visit this hotel again when we return to Charlottesville!

The roof top bar at the Quirk was wonderful!! What a beautiful view and the Hibiscus Mules are excellent!!!

Parking space in Charlottesville is a premium. The hotel does not have customers parking. Valet is $25/day But I must say the valet attendants were very prompt and friendly.
