Marriott's Manor Club at Ford's Colony

The young man who checked us in offered a complete overview of the resort. He was very kind and made eye contact with my son with special needs and myself throughout the conversation. The room was exceptionally clean and met all of our needs. We were in the Colonial Commons building and enjoyed the sound of the splash pads throughout the night. There are designated smoking spaces for those who need them.

Restaurant closed at an early hour, however, this is not unusual since the pandemic began. No other complaints!

Overall I loved my stay here, especially for off-season rates, and would stay again. We had a beautiful two bedroom apartment which was very large and well appointed, quiet with a great view of the golf course. Particularly appreciated the washer/ dryer and electric fireplace in the snowy weather. Kitchen had everything we needed. Felt at home.

I felt for the size of the resort that the amenities were underwhelming. I enjoyed swimming outside in the heated pool but three tiny little pools for the amount of apartments means that in the summer it would be very crowded. The HVAC system in the room was dated and couldn't keep a consistent temperature. It was also very loud. Finally, there was no housekeeping for a five day stay. Taking your own trash out in a four star resort is a bit much.

Location is good! Great efficient staff at the reception desk. Clean, comfortable beds. I had the pleasure to meet M. Javon Edwards who was very helpful in selecting some restaurants.

Exactly as I was expecting and hoping for!

Marriott Ford's Colony is a beautiful place with a private drive to houses, golf course, and a lovely resort in the back. There are many buildings with rooms to stay, but when you get in your room, it seems so private and away from everything. They have many amenities and we were pleasantly surprised by the free laundry machines right on our floor. It was so convenient for our travel needs. Also a new putt putt course was installed as well as a splash pad near the pool. The putt putt course is difficult and not designed for children. A bucket of free balls is available for guests each morning for practice on the driving range. The facility is built around a lovely golf course in a wooded setting. We especially love the location. It is a residential area, but only minutes from shopping and restaurants. Also, it is located only minutes from our daughter and grandchildren. It is our go to spot in Williamsburg.

Loved how all the amenities were close by. Loved that we could walk to other areas and join in with other guest at the pool. The DJ was awesome. It was not far from food and shopping. The food at the pool was fantastic!!!

I thought the room was going to be larger but it felt more like a hotel room. It was to occupy 4 people with th he sofa bed but that was all in the same room. Blessed that it was just 2 of us because there would have been no privacy. Even though it considered still Summer, I wanted to enjoy the outdoor fireplace but it was not operable.

Right off the bat, they treated us like we were family. Everyone was very attentive and not just friendly, but they actually stayed and talked with you and truly was interested in what we were talking about. The facilities were exceptionally good and clean.

The only thing we did not like was that it was very hard to get to. The GPS kept taking us to gated communities where we couldn't go through. The way to the entrance wasn't marked very well. After a few tries, we finally found our way to the entrance. Best thing to do instead of putting in the address is to input Fords Colony Drive. The resort told me that they are trying to rectify this.

We stayed at resort for our daughter’s wedding which was also located on the property. The off season rates were FANTASTIC!! We stayed in a two bedroom villa that was shared with my parents. We also got one bedroom suite for our daughter and used it to get ready. LOTS of space and the decor made for INCREDIBLE pictures!! Our guests were thrilled with their accommodations and all the amenities that came with the facilities. We were able to gather at the heated pool, hot tub, and nearby restaurants. The staff was amazing and there were many activities that were communicated to us each day via text. Our experience was WELL beyond our expectations!! A little slice of heaven!!

Nothing...it was perfect!

The room was FANTASTIC. sparkling clean on arrival and VERY spacious. I was anticipating a simple room with a kitchenette -- I HAD A FULL KITCHEN and it was GLORIOUS. The tub was HUGE. The place smelled great. Grounds were beautiful. We could see them doing maintenance and cleaning, and building new stuff, so the property is definitely well maintained. Bonus: There was a literal washer and dryer in our room. I just can't get over it. They thought of EVERYTHING.

Selection in the convenience store could've been better. Directions could DEFINITELY have been better, the poor instacart delivery guy couldn't find us even with help from the front desk; additional signage would've helped. And then the one downside of all that maintenance: things were constantly closed (the pool, bistro, etc) -- it would've been nice for those amenities to have consistent hours. instead we frequently got texts "oh sorry this is closed early today!"

Beautiful resort. Very comfortable and luxurious. Impressive service and the room was more than I thought it would be with a huge jacuzzi tub and a real coffee maker ...even a toaster and washer / dryer in the room.

The "free gift" they attempt to provide is tied to a time share presentation and its not clear what that is going to be. I get it but it was a little off putting that a pleasant conversation was actually a sales pitch right when I checked in. Otherwise the staff was lovely, kind and helpful.

Villa was equipped nicely, furniture was mostly comfortable. Requested a unit near the elevator which was granted. The pool and pool area were very nice. Staff was helpful and very polite.

There was no room service in the name of Covid -even for vaccinated people. We were there for four nights cooking and eating. Dishes piled up, dining table became dirty, no offer of clean towels, coffee replacement for machine or clean sheets for the bed. We were expecting delivery of medical equipment due to arrive on the day of our departure. We requested a late checkout and we’re told 11:00AM is the best they could do. Strange since on our second day there we met a family who was given a 2:00 PM late checkout. These issues turned what could have been a great trip into a - “it was okay” trip. Disappointing.
