I arrive

I arrived at the property about 3 hours early at just a little after 12noon! I sent an email in advance to the hotel asking to be allowed to check in 3 hours early at no fee since I’d be checking out very early at 7am! When I arrived. I was allowed to check in at 12:15 pm! Mind you, MOST of the rooms on my floor were EMPTY! When I got my bill, I was charged $30 for checking in early but given no credit for checking out at 7am! Also Thi hotel added unexpectedly FEES and Several taxes to my final bill! Consolidation fees -and taxes on the consolidation fees???

Good location, clean, spacious, Starbucks and gift shops on the ground floor with complementary services available.

Bellhop was not forthcoming when we went in to the lobby with our suitcases. When checking out, the person that attended us did not say thank you, nor any pleasantries, which such a brand name hotel should be doing.

I loved everything about the Grand Hyatt Washington. The staff was friendly, attentive and savvy about attractions and restaurants nearby. Our room was clean, the location is a 12 minute walk from the White House and close to many attractions. At the restaurant inside our hotel, the staff Maher, Aster and Johnny were super courteous and warm. Also, Charles who works at the entrance of the hotel was amazing and helpful as well. I will definitely return to this hotel in the near future.

There is nothing I did not like. Everything was great.

on check out the front desk staff John Wheaton was rude, insisting that I have to pay for the 2nd person's breakfast where in fact every room reserved has 2 breakfasts included. i showed him the printed details of my reservation but he just stopped his erroneous argument only when I started calling you booking. com. he made it appear like he was giving us a favor taking off our supposed bill and he never apologized for his mistake.

My room was very far from the elevators, so very long walk in and out of the room For a hotel of this cost, there should be a faster, more express laundry service (even if they charge a lot of money for it), atleast for steaming of suits, etc. Most people travel for events and business meetings for just a day. So a full day laundry service makes no sense.

From the minute you walk into the facility, the building smells clean and looks clean. Staff was supper friendly and greeted myself and my family with a good morning or "have a good day". The location is walking distance to everything (museums, White House). The room also had an excellent view. The room was clean and comfortable (bed was soft). There were also a lot of accessibility features (low toilet, handle bars in the bathroom, low counter) which is get for helping my little one in the bathroom. The room was very spacious and clean as well.

I didn't like that my room was a distance from the elevators, but that wasn't a deal breaker. I also didn't like the cost and expensive prices for breakfast. Lastly, you have to pay $45 to park in the garage if you are parked over 10 hours. Because of this, we cut our stay short by a day.

The Grant Hyatt Washington location was wonderful! We walked to all of the restaurants and places we wanted to visit. THe White House is 10 minutes away by foot and the Capitol and Smithsonian is about a 25 minute walk. The Staff were always pleasant and Jose at the restraurant for breakfast was exceptional. The breakfast buffet was huge and the coffee was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable. I know this is personal preference, so we prefer a medium firm and not a super soft pillow top as we're last 40's and have back issues.

Food, valet, concierge, clean, room service.

On our last day, we were to take the Metro rail to Dules Airport. Our flight was for 8:30 a.m., metro opens at 5:00 a.m. We, mom, dad and 5 children, took our luggage downstairs, carried down the escalators (not working), and found a locked gate so no entry to metro. Concierge did not inform us of this the day before when we asked. Appearantly the hotel gate to the metro does not open until 7:00 a.m., not enough time to get to the airport. We quickly carried everything upstairs and secured 2 taxies, and made it to the airport in time. Just a note to be sure to know this detail about the metro for any guests wanting to make an early flight to Dulles using metro rail. Thank you!

Loved the location, that was ideal. It was clean and the rooms were comfortable. But the best part was the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone that worked there! Phillip (a manager) was so kind to our 4yo when she was struggling with checking her suitcase on our arrival, and Samantha (at check-in) was wonderful making sure our rooms were grouped together (traveling with students). Everyone was sure to inform us how to find the metro, Easter events, and more, just while we were standing and waiting for other group members in the lobby. We had so many great interactions and the entire group agreed we would stay there again without hesitation.

We enjoyed the hotel quite a bit and there wasn't anything that we did not like.

The location is great; just a short ride or walk from Union station. The atrium area of the hotel is stunning! Room was great in terms of space, connectivity and quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable.

This is the first time I've been charged $30 to check into a hotel at 1pm. And there was a resort fee that provided a whole page of services, none of which we'd be able to use. The A/C would shut off before the set temperature was reached. I had to get up twice during the night to wake it up by toggling the temperature. I had the temp set to 69° but the room temperature steadfastly remained 72° both times I checked during the night. The fan would also randomly switch between slow, medium, and gale force. Very strange. The breakfast buffet was comprehensive, but a lot of the food (bread and pastries) seemed dried-out, despite us getting there shortly after it opened. The pancakes were incredibly dry and flavorless.
