The room was cozy and a little small, the staff friendly. Very well located, with access to the principal attaction to the city. A rooftop and a bar/restaurannt inside the hotel. Around the hotel, good restaurants, train station some steps away, banks, library and convention center. Near to the bus station to travel to other states.

The neigborhood has become dangerous, a lot of homeless and fights during the night. Police patrol was parked permanently in the block

Our room was nice, but a little bit small for two. The bed was comfortable.

The location wasn't the best in town. A lot of shady looking people on the street.

The best are the employees. They are super nice and helpful. The location is very comfortable either if you are on business or on holidays. The subway is just across the street and the museums are a few minutes walk on foot.

I liked the hotel a lot, but I had colleagues that stayed in places that cost the same and the rooms where much bigger and they had swimming pools in the rooftop. I think if you are offering a small-room option you should not charge as much as competitors that offer better installations. If you are planning to work while being there, the options are very limited. There is a super small desk, so I mostly worked sitting on my bed.

The staff were super friendly when I checked in and made me feel super comfortable. The room was really nice and clean and the bed was super comfy, despite being in the middle of Washington DC I was barely disturbed by noise, I was on the 8th floor tho. I wasn’t bothered during my whole stay which was nice and the amenities there were absolutely amazing. There’s also a cafe and restaurant in the lobby if you want food and there’s a Walgreens two seconds down the road. As a female solo traveller I felt really safe here.

If I had to comment, for the price I paid the room was a little small but perfect for just one small person with not much stuff

Very good location. China town - it is more name then the place where usually Chinese leave. It is regular Washington district, just some chinese restraunts around. Staff is awesome, very helpful and polite. Each morning andnight I asked for abottle of water, very kind of them. I received a can also to make boiled water (i love to dreank hot tea at nights). No cleaning during the stay, but i didnot need it. Walgreens nearby, close to the Wall, Capital one arena, the Capitol and metro.

The room is very small. I expected this, but did not expect that it is so all. Ok to stay for 2 if no luggage, if you have at leadt 1 case, it will be inconvenient.

Rooms are micro and small but cozy, for 2 people we actually didn't feel as cramped. LOVED the toiletry brand they use in the room! Bed was also very comfortable. Check-in was easy, staff super friendly, and the hotel is cute.

The location is Chinatown which is nice during the day but at night, there is a lot of noise from the people outside and the homeless/bums with sirens going off all night. We were on the 11th floor and you can still hear everything (so maybe that's why they give you earplugs). Our room was also very clean at check-in except for a small stain on the blanket/bed, which the staff promptly changed our room which had no issues. The bathroom is really close to the bed (because of the micro style room/size), and the door is a sliding door that doesn't lock. We didn't have any issues with this but others who want more privacy if/when travelling with others may not feel as comfortable with this.

The room was clean and modern. The room had an East Asian/Japanese vibe that I really liked. The lights integrated into the headboard were unique. I especially appreciated that were was no carpet in the room (cleaner). The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar was enjoyable after a day of running around (please see that attached photo of the view. Note the searchlight that is the 9/11 memorial from the pentagon.) The artwork in the lobby and hallways was interesting and unique. Metro stop at the corner of the block (red, green and yellow line). Many attractions (the DC Mall with all of the Smithsonian museums) within walking distance. The hotel was located in "Chinatown". Who knew that DC had a "Chinatown"?

I was a solo traveler that did not spend much time in the room so the very small room was not an issue, but it might be an issue for others. Note that there was not a refrigerator in the room. Another reviewer noted a nasty smell in the lobby. I also noted this at one point in my stay. The smell was transient and not present in my room. There were some unsavory characters on the sidewalk by the hotel. What do you expect in a major city? I did not feel unsafe but as a solo female traveler I would not be comfortable waking the streets in the arena after dark alone. Daytime was just fine.

You can walk to the museums in about 20 minutes, it's right across the street from a metro station, rooms are clean, front desk staff is great

It's basically a hostel (no microwave/fridge/coffeemaker in your room) although I have stayed in private rooms in hostels with bigger room sizes than this, the bathroom has a sliding door that leaves a gap (so you will hear and smell *everything* because the toilet is 2 feet away from the bed), the neighborhood is kind of scary (homeless people loitering around, people smoking everywhere, and my friend and I were yelled/cursed at by someone when they walked by us); however, 2 blocks down it becomes very nice

I loved the vast space to lounge paired with a smaller room. The room was perfectly adequate though and we were impressed with how comfortable the beds and especially pillows were.

We wish the rooftop and lower bar were open earlier. We came for events in the evening, as I'd imagine a lot of guests do. So if we have to be gone in the evening, it would have made more sense/been nice to be able to enjoy the lounge/bar areas for the afternoon time leading up to the evening events as well since I think that's the experience you pay for at the Motto.

The location is great, you can walk to the main destinations or take the metro with just a few minutes walk. Also there is a market just next to the hotel and great restaurants within walking distance. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable as well. Check in and check out was easy, the deposit was returned back immediately.

The room was small and the window was facing a wall just within a meter or two, so you feel like there is no window at all. Also a fridge in the room would be appreciated. I would prefer single use soaps as well.
