Kimpton George Hotel, an IHG Hotel

The decor was beautiful! It was a treat to come “home” to this hotel, decorated in a stylish George Washington theme, after exploring the city all day. The beds were comfortable—nice pillows and sheets. The room we were in was larger that we’d expected, with a good-sized bathroom. The lobby was gorgeous and welcoming. The staff was friendly and helpful. There’s a charming Irish pub around the corner where we ate dinner with our kids and a Corner Bakery on the other side of the building. We loved our stay!

We only wished the tv had Netflix or Pay per View. Maybe it did and we just didn’t see it.

Rooms were thoughtfully designed with all the things that make an extended stay more comfortable. I appreciated the room layout (having the bed around the corner from the door, so light doesn't shine right on sleeping guests through the peep hole and door cracks), the fact there were towel hooks in the right places for reaching easily from the shower, the power outlets in the bedside lamps, the magnifying mirror in the bathroom, as well as the complimentary coffee. Rooms were quiet and comfortable.

I loved the novelty of the hotel. I loved the uniqueness. The kids loved the decorative pillows. The employees were wonderful. They were very friendly and informative. Valet parking was great. We appreciated the access to wifi.

Honestly, everything was really great. If I were to find one thing, it would say, it would have been nice to have extra bedding in the room to be able to sleep on the longe chair. Having the lounge chair in the room was wonderful.

Everything! Very clean! The bed is super comfy! The bedding is clean and smells fantastic! Room is pretty spacious ( we are family with 3 kids and a dog) , very clean restroom and shower! Everything in this hotel was very very good! Would love to stay there again!

The restaurant closes at 9pm in saturday and closed on sunday

Smaller boutique hotel within walking distance of the Capitol and Mall. Friendly and helpful staff

Most rooms don’t have any kind of view since it’s a low rise surrounded by other buildings. The area around the hotel is full of government buildings so there’s little street activity and a good walk from most restaurants.

The staff were the best thing about this hotel. Each person we encountered was very kind, quick to help, and extremely helpful. The staff here are almost worth booking this hotel on its own. The location is also great. It's just a couple blocks from the Capitol building. The fact that we were able to bring our dog at no extra cost was also a plus. The staff also offered our dog treats on several occasions, which was nice too. And the hotel is still doing brown bag breakfasts because of covid (I personally appreciate the extra precautions), but despite that the breakfast was impressive considering the limitations. We were given two pastries each, greek yogurt with granola and honey, a bowl of nice fruit, and OJ.

The room looked just a bit dated, but we weren't planning on staying in the hotel room the entire time so that didn't matter so much to me. For the price of this hotel, I would've loved to see dairy creamer options for the in-room coffee. And not a con for this, but for folks who will be bringing a car to the hotel - if you don't want to pay valet parking costs there is a parking garage across the street for a fraction of the valet cost. However, when we got back late at night we did see that the garage appears to close at some point, so we ended up doing free street parking for the night.

We rode the train from the airport so the location was handy. All of the staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable

There was a strong odor of natural gas throughout the hotel that lasted a day or two. We informed the staff and it eventually cleared up but it was concerning and gave all of us headaches

safe and great location , not far from restaurants, bars, and things to do. staff is super friendly and helpful. didnt try the restaurant but would love to come back and try it out! the room was clean and comfortable. love how there is a tub and shower. modern and unique look.

I like how hospitable the staff were. Their main priority was to help the guests, I could tell that they love what they do. In addition, the house keeper was excellent with making the room clean. The valet was great also. In conclusion, everything was exceptional.

the bathroom door was a sliding door and it would frequently get stuck. the parking was listed at $55 per day and the charge at checkout was $64.90 per day.
