Windsor Inn Hotel

The bed was really comfortable, the room came with a desk and everything you possibly need was there. Also the bathroom was really nice and clean. I could use their luggage storage for two bags without additional charge.

My room was in a yard, so many air conditioners from other rooms were facing it which caused some unpleasant noise. Furthermore, this yard also was an escape route, so there was light all night. The curtains could block that almost entirely, but I am sure the other rooms are still more convenient.

The hotel is very well located in a peaceful neigbourhood surrounded by many services (cafeterias, bars, restaurants and so on). You can walk to the National Mall and all its monuments and museums (30 min walk). If you don’t want to walk, the S2 bus would leave you there within 10 min. Employees are really well-mannered and humble. I forgot my charger adapter (I was travelling from the EU) and they borrowed me one during my whole stay. Appreciate that. They always try to help you. The everyday cleaning was OK. Blankets and towels were clean. Shampoo also included in case you are not carrying one with you.

At night there’s external light going through the windows (there are no blinds, at least in my room). First I was worried cause I thought I would not sleep, but then it was OK and it didn’represent a major problem to me. Just letting you guys know this.

The best thing about the hotel is its value for money. There are not many hotels in central DC at that price point; I saw three comparable hotels including the Windsor Inn when I was researching my stay. Other hotels in the vicinity are at least double the price. I made a request to be put up in the quietest part of the hotel, and this was taken into account: I was allocated the last room down the hallway on the top floor, which meant there were no guests above or to one side of my room. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The check-in and check-out process was really easy. I appreciated that my 150$ deposit paid upon checking in was refunded within an hour of me checking out.

There were some broken items in the room, such as the bedside lamp, some slats in the air conditioner, and one part of the blinds in the bathroom. I didn't mention it to the staff as I was very happy with the price point and could tolerate some broken things.

It's a great value hotel if you're travelling for a few days and just need a comfortable place to crash at the end of the day of walking and sightseeing. It's close to Dupont Circle (Metro, red line) with lots of good cafes and restaurants around, you can walk to the White House in less than 30 minutes or take a bus in 10 mins... The hotel itself is a bit dated and you can see that in some facilities, but still does the job brilliantly and is charming; plus you get very good service with excellent daily room cleaning. Couldn't imagine a better budget place to stay.

Patchy Wi-Fi coverage in the room, but that's probably because I stayed in a corner room. Good coverage in common areas.

Location is amazing. You live next to U Street corridor with restaurants and bars, but the hotel itself is on the quiet side street. It's a short distance to 2 metro stations and the Mall is not far away either – 25 minutes of brisk walk and you're next to the White House. Very convenient. The hotel itself is nice, and for the price it's a wonderful bargain. Sure, the rooms are tiny and they aren't brand new, but you will have to search hard to match the value offered. Just make sure you are okay with the tradeoffs e.g. lack of elevator. Last note. ICE MACHINE WAS A GODSEND. Really helps to alleviate the lack of a fridge to cool your drinks.

We could use a small fridge in the room. The ice machine makes some noises. The room is tiny. But c'mon, these are small inconveniences, def not deal breakers. Our only real beef was with the shower lacking any shelves or caddies. Picking the shampoo from the flor isn't that great.

The room was quite clean! I enjoyed the old-timey decorations and size of the room. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, doing their best to answer questions. I had friendly encounters during my entire stay. The bed was quite comfortable in the single room.

I would've liked some small kitchen facilities (a microwave or toaster; doesn't have to be a fridge) and a larger desk or sitting area.

The location is a little further from the downtown. But getting there and back is very convenient. Literally one bus. The room is beautiful, clean, unusual in size. The beds are very comfortable and wide. The sheet is clean and white and smells fresh. The bathroom is not big. There is shampoo, soap, several sets of towels. There is a TV in the room and fast wi-fi. Sleep quality is excellent

No carpet on the floor. At least a small carpet underfoot makes the impression positive. Hot water is actually warm. Maybe it's not a question for the hotel. Check-in from 2:00 pm, please

The hotel provides a good location for a good price. There is a bus stop very close and metro stations a little bit further. The room was decent and the staff was friendly and efficient. Overall a reasonable place.

The beds could have been a little bit bigger, the room was large enough. The bathroom was a bit damp. The room was a bit on the cold side and the heating did not seem to be adjustable (there was a thermostat, but it didn't do anything). Lastly, there was quite some noise from the street, amplified by the AC unit hanging out of the window (in winter!).

Room was clean and ensuite was adequate for one person. location was OK with local bus service a short distance away. Staff were friendly and helpful. An upper level room was better than the basement. Was able to leave bags at hotel before booking in time.

Noisy ensuite fan and AC. Smallness of room didn't worry me as I didn't spend much time there. Not much of an impression at front and blocked views from room.

This was a great hotel for my quick turnaround stay. I’m not sure if it had any amenities because I only used the room to sleep there. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very cozy. It was a pretty small room but I’m one person so I didn’t care that much. Everything was really clean, the staff was really nice and accommodating, the lobby is really cute and cozy.

I’m cheap so I was it was less than I paid but that’s a me problem.
