The Darcy Hotel, Washington DC

Didn’t realize an additional $30 fee would be added to the nightly rate for “amenity fee”. Though we didn’t use or receive any amenity.

What I loved the most were the very friendly staff. They were very helpful to suggest great places to eat nearby and the location of my destination.

Parking was a bit awkward. There was no valet parking at the time. But only because COVID protocols were in place.

The hotel is very elegant and clean. Grocery stores, restaurants and bars are all within walking distance. Exceptionally kind receptionist(s). We appreciated that upon check-in we were specifically asked about what kind of room we'd prefer (upper/downer floor, quiet one, main road facing, etc.). We loved how spacious the room we were given was. The bar is great with good selection of drinks and snacks and a decent happy hour offer. Nelson is a very fun guy too, we loved the evenings, he was on duty. As a bonus point, I'd like to mention that we forgot a personal item in the hotel room that we noticed well after check-out, by which time we had already left DC. The front desk kindly offered us to send it after us to our residential address in Europe. We only needed to create a shipping label and set a pick up time. They took care of the packing and handed the parcel to the delivery person. We got it back safe and sound within a few days, so once again we'd like to say special thanks for it. :)

One of the nights we had dinner at the hotel's restaurant. The food and cocktails were really nice. However, as we sat in the patio, twice we were harassed by homeless people asking for money (there is an outdoor camp about 300 ft away). No one came from the hotel/restaurant to send them away. Also, food/drink service should be seriously improved, as waiters/waitresses were very inattentive. Even though, there were only a handful of guests that night, multiple times we felt forgotten about: long waiting times between dishes, our drinks were long gone and nobody came to refill/take our next orders, card payment took 15-20 minutes, etc... On top of this all, we were badly bitten by mosquitos coming from the patio's surrounding bushes.

The hotel is very nice, lobby has a good vibe, the hotel seems like a nice place catering to a mixture of people some coming alone for buisness and some coming for vacation with the whole family.The staff does a very good job helping everybody with thier specific needs. The room was relatively big, the bed was very comftable (one of the bset I have ever slept on in a hotel bedroom) the shower is big. The hotel bar is open every day and has very good cocktails and desserts with service being on a very high level. The location of the hotel is pretty good about 15 minutes walk from the white house.

Staff was very helpful, especially on providing us with a baby bed and a microwave to take care of our baby.

My breathtaking oversized king bedroom and fabulous shower room were wonderful. Crisp white cotton sheets and 4 pillows..all to myself, whats not to love!! Heavy room darkening curtains..slept great! The decor was modern, and fresh. I felt like a rockstar should be staying here.! The staff were very polite and helpful, professional. The location is a short walk to 14th street which had many wonderful restaurants.

I selected the hotel because it had a bar & restaurant, however due to Covid they are not open until mid August. I was so disappointed. Please check when you book with the hotel.Additionally, there is an additional amenities charge for "gin tasting" (my rockstar days are over!), fitness center and bikes...none of which I arrived in time to do. I feel this charge should be built into the hotel rates and not added as an automatic extra charge.Parking is limited, please call the hotel direct if this is important to you. They accommodated me, after my 10hr drive, but I am not sure others guests checking in were so lucky.

I loved everything about our room and location!

Parking was ridiculously expensive for a sketchy parking garage under the hotel. Our car was squeezed in so tight that we could barely get out of our car.

Clean, modern hotel in a safe neighborhood. Close to metro stop and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were extremely comfortable. Had a great night sleep every night. We were there for four nights. Every day at 5:30, they serve their signature cocktail, the Darcy Double in the lobby. The bar and restaurant were still closed due to Covid but the complimentary drink was a nice touch. There is also an attached Blueberry Lane coffee shop that was handy for breakfast.

Can’t think of a thing I didn’t like.

i loved how clean it is , and the room was big. Don in the reception was great! he was very welcoming and kind and helpful!!

everything would’ve been perfect but there was a homeless camp across the street of the hotel. they come approach us sometimes if we are standing outside the hotel. and one day there was a drunk homeless person standing right infront of the hotel talking to us.. no one from the hotel tried to let them leave the hotel premises, which is not a great image for the hotel. as solo female travelers, it feels unsafe to be honest. i just hope they figure this problem out. at least not allow them on hotel premises or entrance for the comfort of fhe guests.

-the valet was amazing -your whole staff was friendly welcoming & quick -the whole hotel is decorated BEAUTIFULLY! I loved every little detail the room felt so retro & groovy 😂 & modern!!! -the robes, coffee maker , the pull out mirror, the brand and quality of the soap, lotion,& body wash, tv, and bed 10/10 completely exceptional!!!

- paying over $300 for a king room, it was way smaller than I wanted the pictures are a little exaggerated which I understand hotels do, with it being summertime and a Thursday during Pride weekend and the location I get rates are higher but paying that much I expected a little more room -price of valet parking although your drivers were amazing
