Lovely little hotel--great character in the remodelling, and very comfortable bed & clean room. I didn't need the ear plugs they had available (room next to me was empty, other guests were there for work, and early risers, so no late night noise, and a quiet town). The dinner I had from the attached pub was excellent. The courtyard area was really nice with lots of seating options & lovely hanging plants & containers, and they let me park my scooter inside the courtyard, near my room's door. The coffee provided in the room was tasty, and I thoroughly enjoyed it during a quiet morning sitting at one of the picnic tables in the courtyard before I had to leave. I enjoyed the stay, and intend to stay again when I can make time to get back to visit the museums and explore the area some more!

Would suggest some blinds for the back facing windows--or eye covers.... My room was lovely and comfortable, but the bathroom ventilation fan was either installed backwards, or it was about to fail--making noises a good bath ventilation fan should not.

Loved the room, loved the courtyard and garden area, the bed was comfortable and there was food on-site. Easy check in through the bar. Quiet at night. Very darling and sweet place to stay. I just loved it.

The bathroom was tiny, as others have mentioned, but I didn't really mind....just be aware. I would have loved an AC or bigger fan for at night...had to leave the windows open for air and that felt like I had no privacy. Not a whole lot going on in this town, and really, the motel was a bright spot in an otherwise dreary town.

Very charming updated vintage motor court motel. Lots of artisinal touches, including furniture, rugs, colors. Very clean, with friendly central courtyard including fire pit adirondack chairs for socializing. Pub on the premises had a good menu of burgers, pizza, locally brewed beer. Had an excellent burger and home sliced fresh sweet potato fries.

Check-in/check-out is very casual, taking place in the pub., although the owners are constructing a new check in office, which will be completed soon. The area in which the motel is located may appear a little sketchy to some, who like to stay on the beaten path.

The rooms were very nice and newly renovated along with kept very clean. There is an outdoor gas fireplace and fresh herbs and fruits n vegetables that your encouraged to enjoy. There is a lounge on the property which is actually where you check in. We were fortunate enough while checking in to meet the owner and I have to commend him for his work ethic and his attention to detail. He an absolutely genuine guy who also had great people skills (which is getting harder to come by these days). He went above above and beyond to insure we were set up to have a wonderful time and we did. I would highly recommend this place. The food was very good and Reasonably priced & the menu had plenty to offer.. I will definitely be back.

Exceptional Nothing at all. Everything was

Super friendly and professional folks making the best of the facility during construction. A whole lotta hard work and attention to detail was evident throughout the experience. They are pouring their hearts into this project and it shows. We showed up on what we thought would be a sleepy Tuesday and were happily surprised to find Taco Tuesday, trivia night, and $1 pints of beer! Excellent room rate as well. Room was very cute, updated and clean. Checkout is through the bar. Unusual but easy and quick.

We didn't find much to do in Raymond, not to say there aren't things to do for other travelers, but our stay was an excellent budget-saving waypoint between coastal points during high season. We were there during heavy construction -- the outdoor deck is going to look great soon -- but we weren't bothered by it and there was no noise or inconvenience.

We traveling through when we came upon the hwy was closed from ocean flooding There were only two hotels to choose from Glad we stayed here. The owners told us if the flooding gets worse they would take us to their home. Had a similar experience in Greece where mountain road was iced and our tour guide stayed at the bottom hotel The next morning he said he couldn’t come and get us he didn’t have a 4x4 the owners of this place didn’t do anything for us. We had to figure our own down the mountain.

The bed was comfortable & linen was clean. The shower had ample hot water. Fans were supplied for guest use. Open closet space to hang clothes. Kitchen items supplied to cook with. Functioning Freezer in large fridge. Parking directly outside the room. Great food next door where guests check in. Easy, quick check in at the bar. Helpful employees. Good location: EZ walk to food, mini mart & post office. I would definitely stay here again.

It was fully booked so I was not able to stay longer then my original reservation.

The Pitchwood is an imaginatively remodeled motel that is warm and inviting. There's a courtyard outside with planter boxes that make for a pleasant place to sit.

The room I used - 7 - would benefit from a small platform step outside the door to lessen the drop to the ground. It would be easy for someone to misjudge the distance and topple and a landing platform would reduce that risk.

We really enjoyed having a restaurant on site. The food and service was excellent!! The ambience was fun, with all the driftwood around. They did a great job with decorating. The lack of AC was easily offset by the fans, no problem there.

We had a little trouble with our lamp, but we know the new owners were renovating, so that was OK.

The units have been remodeled in a rustic/comfy style. My husband and I somehow got the bunkbed room which is designed for families. There is a lovely garden/patio area which is nicely kept up.

We are older so no way could we climb up to the top of the bunk bed. The lower bunkbeds are low so my husband had difficulty getting out of the bed. Thank goodness there was a ladder next to the bed that he could use like grab bars. We like to read and there needed to be better lighting for that. We also had to ask for an extension cord since there wasn't an outlet by one of the beds for a CPAP machine. We were next to the property's restaurant and bar and people were out until late chatting and talking by the facility fire pit which was just outside our door.
