Hampton Inn Wheeling

Employees were very friendly and they were awesome to my fur baby. It was his 1st trip since we adopted Dexter. He was amazing 👏.

Not really much. Rooms were a little narrow and just feel like there should be some kind of discount when your fur baby is well behaved. Was told when asked about weight for a dog, was told 75 pounds but would be ok as long as he wasn't a Marmaduke lol. Well after taking by boy outside, we came in to see a huge great Dane. He started barking and it was the first time my dog even made a sound. No... not sure if that dog was staying but he was huge. All in all this hotel really is awesome, especially if traveling with your fur baby. 😍

The property is STELLAR. "JACK" was wonderful at check-in, very accommodating, as we arrived in the area earlier and provided an early check in AND swapped out 2 Queen room for a lovely King! Time for a short nap after a late Super Bowl evening the night before. For those who travel on a Monday, They have a nice Managers dinner complete with beer and wine! (However, we had dinner plans in town) They have a shuttle service that will take you 5 miles, so if you're going to the Casino, they'll take you and bring you back! We indulged in their Aquatic center both Monday night and Tuesday morning, using the pool, both the indoor and the outdoor hot tubs, & the steam rooms. They have a nice breakfast, varied from hot and cold items, and array of hot tea hot coffee and juice. Check out is NOON, which allowed for sleeping in and a leisurely breakfast. "Taylor" was equally efficient at checkout wishing us a Happy Valentines Day" and making some good suggestions for our next visit. We'll be back!

Not*A*Thing

We were in town for a concert and had the best time! Upon check in the front desk clerk told us about the shuttle that would take us and pick us back up which was great since drinks were involved. He gave us several suggestions for bars to visit beforehand either right at the hotel or down by the Capitol Theatre. We chose to visit the "awesome dive bar" he suggested right across the road which was the 19th Hole. We had a blast before the concert and ended up there after the concert too. We would not have chosen this place had he not suggested it. We had a awesome weekend!

Walking in for check in being greeted by Steve and Hassan with warm smiles and a friendly hello. The pool being open and new garage door entry to the outside area. The breakfast and entire facility were amongst the best experiences.

The rain forest experience in the pool area was not working and not marked or flagged off, needs to be repaired or upgraded to something new. The garage doors need to be closed earlier in the evening for the fall due to cold/cool air and mosquitoes.

I used Booking.com to first book this room but when we got to the hotel they were unable to find our booking information. They called another Hampton Inn near by to see if maybe we were booked there instead. When that did not pan out Hampton Inn Wheeling went ahead and booked a room at an even better rate that we got from Booking.com.

Booking.com really dropped the ball on this. Their rate was higher than the walk-in rate of the hotel and this additional stress booking.com caused me at the end of a long drive wasn't very nice. However, all is well that ends well.

Rooms were very clean. Beds comfy. Mini fridge & microwave stowed away in cabinet under the tv.Desk area & some extra seating w/side tables that could be used while eating in room.Robes for guest use in closets! Aquatic center with pool, hot tub & steam rooms were great to relax in. Outdoor patio seating, fire pit, and even a grill to use if a guest wanted to fire it up & bbq. Convenient location. GREAT breakfast included!! Friendly staff. & items in shopette were very reasonably priced. * loved the photos of local sights adjacent to room numbers outside of rooms. Nice touch!

The floor of the steam rooms were a little slippery. Could use some additional lighting in steam rooms.

Nestled into Wheeling’s backdrop of rocky climbs and mature trees, nature’s theme continues to the rocky interior, warm fireplace, comfortable foyer and friendly faces of staff happy to welcome you. The large saltwater aquarium is a wow factor and even Nemo came out of the coral to greet us! The room was immaculate and easy on the senses. A courtesy shuttle took us to dinner and picked us up. The bed was perfect and pillows too. Pillows, just right, are imperative for a good nights sleep and room temperature was spot on. No noisy AC unit! Perfect! Breakfast...quite the Buffet spread! If you walk away hungry it’s your own fault and for the Vegan, there was freshly made oatmeal and cereals, fresh fruit and juice, choice of teas and coffee. Sorry, no milk alternative. Upon departure we mentioned our cross country drive west and would we be able to find another stay like this one. “Honestly Ma’am, there is no other place like this one”. So far, that’s the truth and the honored awards that sit across the mantle of the fireplace prove it!

There was nothing I did not like

I was here for a memorial service and brought quite a few pastries with me. Once I got there and asked about refrigeration, Taylor and Tim took control and put them all on ice for me. Then, Saturday morning, I went down to the front desk and asked about reclaiming the pastries and, without hesitation (I don't remember her name), helped me. I am very pleased and will be back.

We were just passing through, and this hotel was perfect for getting some rest before moving on. Very clean. Good breakfast: eggs, waffles, sausage, potatoes, and more. Air conditioning worked perfectly on a hot July day. Beds were comfortable, and everyone was so nice. The pool area looked great, but we were too tired to swim. We simply enjoyed a great room at a great price.

The staff at the front desk was wonderful. We happen to be there on a Monday night and had a free dinner at the hotel. It was very very good and the pork chops were freshly cooked on the outside grill. It was a nice little perk.

The breakfast was just a standard hotel breakfast, but it just wasn't as good as it could have been. The sheets although nice and fresh it could have been a little softer.
