Hilton Garden Inn Madison Downtown, WI

a new property with good amenities and very helpful staff; location is good for UW campus and city center, all shorter walking distance; very efficient front desk, fast checkin/checkout, good-sized elevators, spacious rooms, good beds, convenient chargers for devices, spacious shower with good water flow; good breakfast buffet or a la cart, very good overall!

just minor stuff - it’s across tracks, so walking route to the property is somewhat restricted

The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The hotel is brand new and gorgeous. The rooms are set up well (love the small walk-in closet with shelves/drawers & a mirror that acts Iike a dressing room. The location is perfect - minutes from the Capital and the University and minutes from Lake Monona. One of the bike path “highways” is right behind the hotel. There are two Bcycle bike share stations near the hotel and a few Zipcars nearby too. We didn’t need a rental car. A perfect weekend.

Staff was very friendly and it was home away from home for us when we stayed while dropping our son at UW Madison. We have decided to book again in future whenever we visit our son. Special mention of Sandy who was one of the waitresses at breakfast. Amazing human being and provided an exceptional service.

Water quality was a problem; water was quite “hard” needs better treatment. You do not feel fresh after a bath due to this issue.

The staff was outstanding!!!!!! Very very helpful and accommodating because of our situation!!!! Very friendly staff!!! Very close to UW Health hospital. Very clean!!! Very quiet. Place was probably close to full capacity, but 0 noise. Great place for leisure and business travelers. I give it a 10 or 5 stars which ever you prefer.

Pillows are comfortable but soft. I like a firmer pillow. Which they were gonna look into getting some firmer pillows. Would still stay there again!!!!!

Towels were big, room Was extremely clean.

I didn't like the charge to park My car over night....and 2 I made sure when I rented my room there was breakfast Included. Such a hassle to get it, put me on the spot. Just give to me when I check in.

Front desk staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. So many hotel check-in experiences are standing there listening to an uninterested staff member barrage a recited script while having zero conversation and not allowing any questions. My check-in process here was the opposite. The gentleman was joyful, conversational, welcoming and helpful.

More instructions on how to exit parking at end of stay since many people leave cards in room. Had to park get inside to counter didn’t have card do waited for someone to open door. Waited in line to be told to press a button and they would manually let us out.
