We were on a road trip around nsw. We stayed in resorts, apartments accross from beaches, pubs and even one caravan park. The Royal hotel exceeded expectations for $90 a night. We had a 50inch tv that you could sign in on your netflix account, frre wifi, a fridge, your own bathroom, a small balcony and the room was roomy. It was also in the center of town. I have given it a 10 for all it offers for this proce, but just remember it is a pub, but I loved it, and I would stay again. The food in the hotel is great value for money as well, my husband had the t bone for $20 and he said it was tender and just about the best he has ever had. Breakfast is at a reasonable price also. There is a common kitchen so you can do your own breakfast if you want. If you are on a budget or you like staying in pubs or you like staying right in town, this is the place for you. I have paid more at other places and have gotten way less for my money.

The hotel was established in 1859, so it is a tourist attraction in itself. It is inexpensive and in a great location in the center, also less than a 10 minute walk from the coach and train station. A real bonus is that the rooms have a kettle and a fridge. They also leave tea and plenty of soap and towels in the room. I also had been wondering where I can buy milk for the tea when I discovered the hotel left some in my fridge. I had breakfast in the hotel restaurant. It was very good.

The food was amazing at the bistro. Food came out quick and was delicious. The staff there were amazing and bent over backwards to welcome us super friendly.

The room had a leak when a massive storm hit. Notified staff. A few intoxicated locals had us worrying about our car parked by the pub (one getting arrested by police on the bonnet scratching it) and getting back to our room after a late dinner. Although the security there did a wonderful job making us feel safe as we entered

I provided my own breakfast and dined at a restaurant that was not in the hotel.. I parked on the street, in front of the hotel, which was fine except that there was a frost overnight and I had to wait until the ice on the car melted. I would stay at these premises again. Value for money, central location and the staff I encountered were helpful and friendly.

My own fault, but lugging my rather large suitcase up the 44 stairs (I counted them) to the room on the second floor was a bit of a challenge, a was coming down the stairs when I checked out.

The hotel is being done up but that did not impact my stay. The team that looked after us was excellent in every way, particularly the restaurant. You can tell that the place has been run down but they are on the way back. The price for the room was great.

The walk up the stairs, but that's my knees problem not there's. When the renovations are complete I would hope there is more lighting in the bathroom

Did not have breakfast

We were disappointed there was nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom or to hang up our clothes. We were in room 21. We are both in our 70's and found it very difficult to get up and down the steep stairs. It might be an idea to ask people if that amount of stairs would be a problem before a room is allocated.

The location is quite central and convenient. There is a nice park across the road. The check in manager Nathan was very friendly and helpful with the information of parking and meals. The restaurant offers simple yet nice meals. The breakfast was great quality and amazing. The facilities are basic but the linens are fresh and crispy. The bed is comfortable. The hot shower in my room was nice it did take a couple of minutes to warm up. The facilities need some updates, but the service was good. The hotel is great value for money. I’d love to come back.

The facilities are dated

Breakfast excellent. Close to everything. I went to library, cinema, art gallery, museum and swimming pool by walking.

I wanted very much to visit Parkes during the Elvis Festival and found this impossible. Shame. Hoping to get to do this 2025.

Basic room. Very clean. Tea, coffee, fridge, milk supplied. Shower in room. Great dining room. Right in middle of town. Would most definitely stay again.

Toilet outside room which was fine, but a sign saying where it was would be good.
