The room was very comfortable and spacious with arm chairs to relax in and read. The bed was absolutely fabulous - so comfortable and warm. And the room was kept immaculately clean by the staff. I also appreciated the policy of environmental care with suggestions to re-use bath towels where possible. I did enjoy sitting in the garden bar whether it be just reading or chatting to friends or indulging in food and drink from the bar.

The waste of energy - each time I returned to my room after it had been cleaned many lights were still on where as I was in the practice of switching all the lights off every time I left the room. Thie may be an unconscious oversight by the staff who having needed the lights on during cleaning simply forgot to switch them off after finishing. Perhaps if there is no other reason to keep the lights on in unattended rooms the staff could be reminded to save power and switch lights out after cleaning is finishes!

Very nicely renovated rooms, comfortable and well equipped. Loved the outdoor eating areas and poolside bar. We'll definitely come back and make more use of these. Excellent dinner, food and service were outstanding.

Breakfast!!! What on earth are you trying to do serving breakfast in the hotel lobby. There was perhaps 2 actual tables available and the rest was lounge suites and sofas. The breakfast buffet was limited and it just felt very awkward eating while watching people check out. Why can't you just open the main dining area for breakfast?

Everything! The concept of the Retro is brilliant, offers a point of difference, comfort but also elegant, and the rooms and hotel facilities have been tastefully renovated. We enjoyed a martini in the garden around a fire pit, then a complimentary guest drink in the Bella Vista bar followed by dinner in the Peacock Room. We could have been dining in a luxury hotel in a major city. The food was excellent and affordable European inspired, the décor was interesting and glamorous and the service was friendly. The rooms were a great size, velvet armchairs comfortable and an extension of the glamour in the Peacock room. The finer details made us feel special and welcomed. We stayed in a signature room and enjoyed daily complimentary fruit, snacks and non alcoholic drinks. The room and bathroom were clean and bright. The bed very comfortable. We were delighted to enjoy some delicious welcome cookies when we arrived with a cup of tea. Complimentary gowns, slippers, yoga mat enhanced further our guest experience. The Oriana is also central to the town, restaurants, pubs, cafes and the golf course across the road. We walked everyday. We will be back in Spring or Autumn.

Check in was efficient, helpful and friendly - I got a free drink voucher and chocolate chip cookie on arrival. They provide real milk for in-room tea and coffee and have non-dairy options as well as skim etc. When I got to my room the air con was on and there was soft jazz music playing. Instructions for the TV and air conditioner were clear. You can park directly in front of your room and it’s all flat, so unloading the car is easy. It is on a main road but the rooms are at the back and I didn’t hear any road noise. The room itself has tons of natural light, is a good size and well appointed - I was travelling for work so really appreciated the desk with comfy chair and sunshine coming in the window as I worked all afternoon. Complimentary toiletries were good quality and smelled amazing. They had a selection of pillows of different firmnesses which I appreciated as someone with a bad back. I didn’t try their room service or on-site restaurant only because I already had dinner plans but the menu looked really good and seemed to showcase local produce. Free WiFi was fast and stable.

No real criticism (this place was really lovely) besides maybe having a few more power-points in the room. My room had a double power-point at the desk, another on one side of the bed and a single in the bathroom so it was fine, but one or two more would have been perfect.

The room was perfect, little extras like a fresh flower in a vase, fruit in a fruit bowl, bottle of water and a glass next to the bed, gorgeous soaps and shampoo, a really nice place to stay. Every evening on my return from work, the heater was on in the room, the lights were on and the TV was playing jazz in the background. A real beautiful and thoughtful touch. The housekeeping staff do an amazing job at keeping the rooms clean and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable with a padded underlay to make you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud.

There was nothing that disappointed me in my stay.

The Oriana has been renovated in a modern retro style, beautifully retaining its original mid-century style. Our room was clean, fresh and inviting and we really liked the small but very effective bathroom heater that warmed the bedroom too and the little touches like the retro-style outdoor chairs and table and complimentary welcome drinks and apples. The staff were friendly and the restaurant, The Peacock Room, was exceptional fine dining - and super convenient being on-site. The Oriana also has a large swimming pool and outdoor dining area with casual eatery complete with pizza oven. The location is also great, being close to Orange's cafes and the heart of town. We just had a regular room with queen-size bed which was a little small but we were out everyday so we didn't need a larger suite.

My favourite motel on a long road trip, it combines the convenience of a motel (easy parking, all units on the ground floor, communal facilities) with some of the fun of a hotel - a really good on-site restaurant and bar, cool lounge area, quality bed/shower and toiletries, good breakfast, and free drink on reception. I recommend booking their restaurant ahead of time - it does get quite busy!

Not their fault, but beware Apple Maps which had the entrance on the rear side of the property for some reason! The location is walkable into town but a little further than I'd realised, but that's probably why it makes sense to eat (and drink) on site! Otherwise, a perfect stay and I only wished I had a couple more days.

Well maintained and very clean. Easy access and nothing was too much trouble. Has everything you need for a lovely stay. Staff were lovely.

My only complaint was the parking on weekends. We came back from a night out and couldn’t find a parking spot. I feel if you’re paying for your room you should have a dedicated parking spot. All spots at night are taken up by visitors using the dining facilities. There should be separate parking for dining guests.

The bar and restaurant are absolutely outstanding. The food is fabulous, simply fabulous. It’s really only geared for adults though (which is a reason we chose the location). There are family rooms but I think if you took pre-teens, you’d have to take them out to eat. Most of the staff are simply outstanding; friendly, helpful and just easy. Tina, Tim and Jordan in particular. Rooms are spacious and the pool is gorgeous - clean, clear and in sun so always a good temperature. The motel vibe lets you park outside your room which is always helpful.

Rooms are maybe needing a little bit of tlc. Rooms directly above reception are noisy and very hot. (They are above kitchen/bar) We were allocated one but on arrival I immediately asked for a change, which thankfully they could do. I paid a bit extra for a better room in a different location. The aircon though is a bit inadequate, room was still hot, especially overnight. We had a bit of an issue with our toilet which was reported but took a couple of days to get fixed properly and the shower grouting/silicone needs a bit of work. Because there is a strongly coloured feature wall in the room, plus subdued lighting, it is dark. I’m fairly short sighted and struggled with it. Garden dining area is not open all the time and even when open, if it’s quiet they tend to close it early.

All was of a high standard.

The room #49 needs some attention to a vibrating motor noise that was radiating through a joint wall. Not sure if it was the air con or the laundry machines in room below. This usually continued to 11:>11:30pm at night. I discussed w staff member the first morning and was informed that the laundry machinery was to cease operating at 9:00pm. So this issue needs further investigating to resolve.
