The location is great, very close to the Stanmore train station and a few minutes walk to Enmore road with loads of cafes, bars, restaurants. The kitchen was huge and had everything you'd need to cook. There was a nice area to sit above the kitchen with nice plants and a view of the city. The sink and fridge in our room was really handy. Cathy on the reception desk was really friendly and let us check in early.

Our room was very hot and stuffy and the fan didn't do much to help. There are a few older guests who were staying there at the same time as us who seemed to be staying long term and acted like they owned the place. It's not really a social backpacker vibe hostel. I wasn't allowed to use the kitchen while it was being cleaned at 12:30 for half an hour. Seems weird to close the kitchen for cleaning at what I would consider lunch time..!

The location and room were great for what you pay for.

I couldn't work out how to turn on the fridge and also it would have been good to have some plain glasses to drink from. The bathrooms were a bit old but clean and perhaps there could be a better solution for the bath mat....get rid of the towel on the floor as it just gets wet.

This place was above expectation. The double room was more than adequate in size for what we required. The room was on the back deck, 3 stairs to enter. Had a bar fridge & TV. Bathroom was just around the corner and again good size and clean. Shower was huge. Security to enter the place and the room was fantastic. It was a tag. Good view of the city as well. Quiet neighbourhood and less then 500m to the train.

The only downside is it is right in a flight path so you can't miss the planes.

We loved the property! It was very well located just five minutes from a train station and the staff were amazing, even helped us with free laundry! We loved the outdoor dining area and how homely the place felt, couldn’t be happier with our stay :)

The only thing to mention at all was that the wifi connection was a bit slow but that is genuinely all we have as feedback! The stay was amazing.

I liked the cleanliness of the motel and phone manner was exceptional. Loved the comfy bed. And location is great 😊

Parking on street. If you arrive after hours parking is first in first served then it's hunting up and down the street 🙄

*EXCEPTIONAL STAY* Me and my partner took the single room (Shared bathroom) We've stayed in 4 different hotels in Australia the last couple months, 4 of which in Sydney and one in Adelaide. This was the cheapest one, and the only one without private bathroom. Yet, the place was gorgeous, the balcony / living room was so lively and felt a bit like home, which was wonderful after 3 months of sleeping in a tent and so far from home. Staff - amazing. The day we checked out we had a flight, and one of the staff members allowed us to leave all of our luggage in the luggage room, (even though we checked out at 10am and our flight was at night) brought us a key to enter the hotel at night and told us to leave it in the box when we leave. Totally recommend + Great VFM.

Everyone was so friendly, Kathy the lady at reception offered me a quieter room compared to the one I booked and actually showed me around !! Unheard of from hostels, but not this one! Super close to newtown and only a couple of stops from the main city so perfect location!

15 minute timers in bathrooms, tho its understandable for environmental issues ofc

Price point, fairly clean for a YHA. Kathy was really nice and changed our room when she found out my partner struggled to walk the stairs, which she didn't have to do at all. Place was quite which was a really nice change.

Pillows and being an old building, it didn't have air-conditioning, so on a hot day would be unpleasant, but was not a massive issue when we had stayed

cambridge lodge was the perfect place to stay! great location, greater facilities, and such friendly staff! couldn’t ask for anything better, and Cathy especially was so helpful, welcoming and went over and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Thanks Cathy and the rest of the staff for such a great week xxx

The front desk staff was amazing. She was lovely and kind, made me feel very welcome. The hostel is in a great location, quiet at night, I slept so well. I found a parking right out front of the door. Great value for money. The only thing I think needs improvement is the bathrooms. I would definitely book it again next time I come to Sydney.
