location in a very cool area, where there are cool cafes and various stylish clothing stores) 3 shops for spiritual practices, a hostel with creative young people on the same street, in general, I advise you to visit for a couple of days + there are lockers in the rooms for valuables

the rooms are a little dirty, but I lived in 2 rooms, one of them was clean, it seems to me that you need to look at all the rooms to move in, because different people come across

- There was no bar fridge to store food/drinks. - Not much crockery for 4/5 people there was only 2 cups and 2 tea spoons. - There wasnt any parking which was quite an issue with availability on street parking especially it being the weekend.

Although we didn't get the original rooms we booked (with ensuites) we were accommodated in a terrace house with shared facilities that was an exceptional and unique stay. It is a backpackers, and we did stay there as a group/family, and there was no issues. The vibe was great. Staff was very helpful despite having problems with our original booking due to maintenance they looked after us well and we got a great deal.

No air-con and it was a 40 degree celcius day. Pool was a bit murky and didn't use it.

We had prebooked an Air BNB on King st. When we arrived the key to the property was not in place. The lack of help and communication with getting it sorted was extremely distressing. We were told to find alternative accommodation at 11pm in the rain. We found Summer House and walked with all our luggage. We were greeted by a really friendly and helpful person. They not only had a room, they placed us on the ground floor after informing them I could not go up and down stairs. The room was comfortable, clean and warm. The following morning we still had not heard from our other booking as they had promised to do by 8am. Again, the Summer House staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. When leaving I was assisted with Uber app and booking an Uber. WOW! What an incredibly positive experience. Highly recommend this place.

Our stay at Summer House Newtown was very pleasant! Check-in and out was super easy, the room had everything we needed (beds were comfy, had a fan if it was hot, there was a TV that we didn't get to use, the shower was GREAT!) and was super affordable! I travelled with a few others to stay overnight for a conference and it was the perfect place for our stay. Location-wise it was also great! Very central. Highly recommend - surpassed our expectations for sure.

The only thing we had an issue with was that the wifi was a little slow. We could access it with no issue but it was only worth using for very simple tasks.

Central location, convenient to public transport. Nice environment, & quiet. Wish I had more time to take advantage of facilities….pool etc. Everyone super friendly & relaxed.

As I am a once local Sydney resident + an experienced worldwide backpacker,+ an Information Professional, I would suggest the staff become better informed, regarding recommendations of cheap local transport options for budget travellers, apart from taxi & Uber……. eg. bus routes (maybe a poster on display? + a large basic wall map with railway stations marked + bus routes for various tourist destinations….. eg : beaches, city landmarks, ferry routes etc……. Maybe a wall noticeboard for travellers to leave helpfull comments & recommendations for fellow travellers??? *Just some suggestions for improvements to the already fantastic basis you have! Cheers!!!!!

The welcoming atmosphere and living greenery around. I liked the people and the room location. I like that they were able to meet my accessibility needs and that staff were there until late in the evening. I liked that there was a small park next door to have a quiet outdoor space. I also liked that you were provided with a doona and sheet, not a mink blanket or something like some hostels provide.

Sayed in the private room with shared bathroom and the room was really nice, it had a huge balcony and a smart tv :) The beds were reasonably comfy and the vibe of the place was really chill.. Its in a prime location just off King Street and the staff are great, I had an issue with losing something and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Staff..they went out of their way for guests ..they are a great bunch of people Atmosphere Safety level Location Pancakes on Sunday and free tea and coffee

The cover blanket was not warm enough..needs another blanket in winter some guests did not clean their kitchen stuff Paper towels in kitchen to help clean Water drinking fountain to fill up water flasks 😁

Friendly staff, they’re really helpful. On Sundays you can get veggies pancakes for free. The location is amazing just a few steps from king street and 5 minutes by walk from the train station, there’s a good kitchen with good shared zones. Has a really good relation price/quality.
