Meriton Suites Campbell Street, Sydney

room was exactly as described, spacious, had good storage, washing facilities for ourselves & clothes, close to lite rail links, aircon & lift, wifi was great, they gave us 2 keys for motel which was excellent as some only give one which can be frustrating, good information supplied when we arrived staff were very helpful

Could have done with better sydney or local information & food options, the cafes listed in motel code link didnt seem up to date as we couldnt find it.... also we were in chinatown & while there was a sign in the foyer saying it was chinese new year we had no idea what the celebrations were. We probably should have approached the staff

The location of the hotel is very convenient, very close to city center (Town Hall) and Chinatown. The size of the room was very big (same as the photo, except the view). I liked having chromecast to watch things from my subscriptions.

Even a room on 19th floor is between buildings and has no good view. Most of the room windows are looking at each other, so I had to keep the curtains closed. The bathroom and the washing utilities were aged, but serving its purpose. After staying at the Meriton Suites in Melbourne, which was quite new and had good views, I make a comparison as expected.

Friendly and helpful staff. Loved the smell of the hotel. Enjoyed the Pool, spa and sauna. Kitchen was a bonus for cooking quick breakfast like egg and toast. The transportation was very easy. Light rail was just outside the hotel. So it was very convenient to just Hop on and hop off So many shops around and so many food to choose from. You cant go wrong staying at this hotel. Highly recommended.

I loved my stay but Just a minor issue when using the shower. Water easily overflows out to the bathroom floor. So floor mat easily gets soaked. Room doesn’t get daily service but staff were all helpful of what we have requested.

Room has good size for a long stay … stove, Nespresso, big fridge, ironing things, etc … The location is outstanding … many literally hundreds of places to eat right down there, asian food basically but not only … several convenient stores and supermarket also on a short walking distance and trams round the corner to move almost anywhere … Central train station and ICC are in a short walk (10 minutes) … perfect …

For a long stay bathroom cleaning in room service should be more frequent … however very gentle staff solved the issue … Maybe the same happens with coffee and teas whih had to be requested …

The location was great - lots of good food (we had Vietnamese, Korean and Thai) nearby and Cole's supermarket was just a 5min walk away. The light rail to Circular Quay or Moore Park was just around the corner! The kitchen facilities were sufficient for cooking a decent meal of steak and vegetables. We discovered a cute little takeaway coffee place tucked away in the back alley! We stayed for 11 nights and the room didn't feel claustrophobic. The housekeeping came 3x which was more than expected. The bed was firm and comfortable.

There was probably some kind of design flaw in the shower area, when showering, the water from the shower area will seep into the toilet and basin area. This caused some 'flooding' and was extremely annoying as we had to dry the floor with kitchen towels after showering to avoid slipping. The height of the showerhead is non adjustable and fixed rather high up and not friendly to people on the shorter side. A minor point for hygiene purposes - I wished the recycling in the garbage area would get picked up more frequently. It was only picked up once during our entire stay.

We arrived much earlier than expected (9am) and were absolutely delighted with being told by Hadi that our room was ready and that we could enter it straight away, so so happy as we were pretty tired from our 4am wake up to catch our train through to Sydney. Getting in early gave us the time wash our clothes, have a coffee and rest up before heading out to see the CITY. Whilst out sightseeing we returned to the room to find that the washing machine had blown it's bundle and didn't complete its cycle due to a drainage issue. I alerted the hotel of the issue and they politely said that the maintenance team had gone home but they would deal with it first thing in the morning. We received a knock on the door at 8.30am and it was the maintenance man to fix the washing machine. Luckily my husband and I are early risers so we left him to it and went to catch a boat to Manly. On our return, the washing machine had been replaced and our clothes had been re-washed and ready for the dryer, but as an added bonus they left a complimentary bottle of wine on the table, thanking us for our understanding and patience. This was our second stay at this hotel and we will stay there again. CENTRAL to everything. it is all at the doorstep.

Not realising that the booking I made, excluded room service - making of bed, replacing towels, loo paper etc. This taught me a lesson to read the finer print, I now know for next time. I'm guessing COVID is the blame for the changes and I totally understand WHY. Other then that no other gripes.

Very well located, just around the corner from the light rail on George St to the rest of the city and to the inner west. Close to Chinatown. Bed was very comfortable although why hotels have decided that quilts are a good idea is beyond me. Too cool with just the sheet over us but you need to run the air con to avoid waking up in a pool of sweat. No blankets on the property but a couple of extra sheets were happily provided by the staff and that worked well. Staff very responsive when we needed anything (important as there was only one room service while we were there).

The shower leaked terribly - no matter how carefully one closed the shower door! See note re only having quilts - too hot with, too cold without - so you end up running the aircon (although they did provide some extra sheets that worked well).

Convenient location close to tram and light rail. Accommodation met our expectations. The hotel was clean and modern. The room was well equipped, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were excellent.

Slippery tiles throughout the room, especially in the bathroom and shower. Hazardous for older occupants. Would recommend as a minimum, provision of an optional nonslip mat. TV remote was missing. Housekeeping man attended with 5 remotes, none of which worked. He attended the following morning with the proper remote. Only 2 coffee capsules provided for our 3-night stay. 4 additional capsules were provided. No tea towels. On enquiry we were told there were none and were sent an extra hand towel. A/C remote needed batteries. Didn't like your Question 4. below, about Athol Beach. Athol Beach is nowhere near the hotel. It is remote and requires some considerable effort to get to. I'm sure very few patrons would be aware of its location.

Well appointed and very clean room and lovely bed with very comfy pillows etc. I had a user error with my room key ( locked it so the key wouldn't work as I tried to reenter) The guy on reception was outstanding and came up to the room to help me get in. I was cranky and had gone up and down in the lift and I thought it was the key but he was so lovely , polite and helpful. He could have just recoded the key and sent me away but he didnt just do the minimum and went the extra mile. I was so tired and it actually made a big difference to me at the time. Outstanding service.

This is our second stay at the Meriton Suites Campbell Street and we chose to stay here again despite the slightly disappointing service because of the terrific location. The service has improved slightly, this time our studio was serviced after the 3rd night of our 5 night stay. However we requested fresh towels after the 2nd night - and returned to our apartment to find the new towels, but the used towels were still on the bathroom floor. Apart from this little hiccup we were happy with our stay - the studio apartment was well equipped and spacious and the bed was super comfortable. We did find the on-site parking very challenging - the vehicular lift is very small!!
