The location is fantastic! Across the street from central station and a tram stop directly in front of the door? Perfection for people without cars

The sheets were very thin and we can’t sleep well without some weight on us.

Honestly the property is kept clean and it’s in a great location, staff a friendly and guests are also nice to talk to

The bathrooms are a little outdated but maintained well and the hallways could use a new coat of paint (it just made the inside seem really dark) We also noticed the internal latch doesn’t work, however when we spoke to the staff they were very friendly and explained that the latches are outdated and it relies on the key card system which only the assigned guests or staff can access the room which was reliving, they were very clear and explained it well Myself and my friend stayed in a private room with ensuite and noticed it gets quiet cold at night (end of April) in the room and we had to rug up with extra jumpers under the blankets, we couldn’t find a thermostat if there was one (unsure if there was heating in the room)

Location is excellent - public transport to anywhere you want to go is out the front or a short walk away - including train to airport. They also had a good continental breakfast buffet for $12. - no need to spend time in the kitchen or go to more expensive cafe for breakfast.

The decor in the public areas is gaudy. Number of toilets and showers is inadequate for number of guests - sometimes had to wait a while to have a shower and go to toilet on level one. Laundry facilities inadequate for large number of guests and most of the washing machines were not working - only one dryer was working - and keycard tap payment only - not coins.

Excellent location. walkable 2 mins walk from the central station and a walkable distance to Paddy's Market - China town and George Street. Tram station right in front of Hostel. The rooms are clean and neat. Bathrooms /showers are clean too. Rates per night fluctuate, hence recommended to book in advance. The staff is very helpful.

I would suggest the hostel make provision for mobile charging points for each bed just over the bed with a small shelf to keep stuff. currently, the charging points are within the storage boxes deep inside which is cumbersome to use.

The location is really great. The kitchen is good but still need to anticipate it on certain hour bcs it can get crowded. They have locker room and we can put our luggage there for free. They also provide a day pass, if it’s time for check out but we still need to stay for a while.

There are two things. First, it seems like there was a study tours from a school, so it was really noisy and the bathroom got super dirty. Second, I wanted to extend my stay a day before my checked out date, and the staff told me that the room for all female is full. But, on my checked out date, I checked booking.com there are two beds available. However, I didn't regret to move bcs the kids were really noisy. And I still enjoyed my stay tmat YHA.

Quieter than expected. Close to public transport. Close to supermarket, food outlets etc.

It would be good if the laundry facilities had automatic laundry liquid delivery and the machines could be paid for via eftpos system. Like petrol pumps. It's not that easy to gather the coins required these days.

Location is great, you have easy access to all the attractions and to the public transport. Rooms and bathrooms are comfortable. The kitchen closes late at night so there is no problem to cook at 10 or 11pm. Common areas generally closes at 20.30 but you can still use the living room or the cinema.

Hostel is due for renovations (April-May 2024), understand that it will include the restrooms which were dated and underwhelming, this will benefit future guests | during the day, saw some cleaning people in the kitchen, but generally, cooking area felt neglected and abused (Tetris stacks of clean dishes left on drying rack, or, sink fully of dirty dishes, or, dirty cooktops and counters) |

Great location with a light rail stop and train station right outside. We had adjoining queen room and a 4 bunk room which was perfect for our family. Made it a cost effective way of staying in the city. Big rooms and loved the large lockers. The woman at the front desk was lovely.

The rooms could have been cleaner. There was stains on some of the sheets for the bunk beds, those went straight back downstairs. A bit of noise from roadworks late in the evening but didn’t stop us sleeping. Unfortunately the rooftop and pool area had been closed for refurbishment the day we arrived. We hasn’t been advised this was happening and it was a huge disappointment as it was definitely a reason I booked.

It is absolutely in the most strategic location, you everything you would like to see in a ray of 10 min travel. The tram sto right in front of the accommodation . it’s so easy to reach from the airport as it is only 2 min walk from the central station, near to Haymarket. The staff is really friendly and they also have a nice relax rooftop pool at the 9th floor. There is a cinema and big kitchen facility. You have a personalised key card that allow you in your room and dedicated are, so nobody can come to your room and take your belonging. They have a very safe security system that check everyone that access to accomodation is actually a customer of the YHA, and after 9pm you can only access with the swiping your card. You can meet any type of guest from the young backpacker, to some CEO from a renovate business company, a family till an elderly solo traveller.
