The location of the hotel is perfect for anyone wishing to be close both to the CBD and Sydney's many attractions. Hyde Park, the Anzac Memorial, St Mary's Cathedral, the Australian Museum and the Art Gallery of New South Wales are all close by and it's only a walk or short ride on public transport to the Queen Victoria Building, Town Hall, Circular Quay (for the ferries), The Rocks, Harbour Bridge and Opera House. I'd definitely recommend getting an Opal card (which is rechargeable) to facilitate travelling around the city incl. its ferries. Museum station is only five mins walk from the hotel, so it's incredibly handy to transfer from/to the airport by train. The room booked (a mini queen) was very clean and had everything needed for a short stay - it was quiet, had a comfortable bed, Nespresso machine, kettle and tea selection, a mini fridge and a good shower. Staff here were super friendly, welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. This hotel is certainly one I'd stay in again on another visit to Sydney.

There is no hotel dining/breakfast available but this was not an issue as there are plenty of cafes and restaurants very close by and in fact they offer a 10% discount for hotel guests at two of them. Standard check-out is 10am, which I knew about when I booked but is a little early if you have the whole day ahead of you. However, they will happily store luggage until later at no extra cost, so it's not a problem.

Check in was very quick even at 23:30 night! Thank you Syd from the reception! Laundry was done on the 2nd day also was super well cleaned! So thank you guys for that too! It costs 38AUD for separate colour washing & 28 if you want it to be washed together. Complimentary tea & coffee were given in each room! That’s very nice! Housekeeping can be done anytime from 10:00–16:00. I recommend you letting the housekeepers clean early so that way you won’t be bothered later. Location wise it’s very convenient too…5-10 min walk to the central train station, you can take the metro train to the airport terminals. Then 5-10 min walk to Chinatown as well! Very good!

Definitely it’s not worth 170$USD a night to stay in this hotel…sink drain is quite slow to absorb water. Bedding & towels all have tiny dust particles on them; you can clearly see it when you shine light on it then wipe it & there they are. Microwave is located on the 2nd floor inside the closet…it might not be a good choice to put a microwave in the closet in case if it catches fire then there goes the whole floor.

The room was perfect for me, just what I needed for my solo holiday, I felt very safe given I was staying alone, bed was very comfy, bathroom was great with all the amenities (even a hairdryer!). Staff were very accomodating and super friendly. Location was excellent, super central, I just walked everywhere but you're also so close to bus stops, and Central station, and of course the CBD. Very happy with my stay and will likely return if I travel back to Sydney.

There wasn't much about the room I didn't like - the only thing was that with the shower, the water seemed to go everywhere on the bathroom floor (as in, the shower screen didn't really stop water from spilling out) but it wasn't a big deal for me!

That is was pet friendly and super comfortable. All of the staff were amazing.

The lift

We had tickets to go see "Sister act" which was in Campbell Street, Sydney & Veriu Central was just around the corner in walking distance. We couldn't have been any closer & in close proximity to Central railway station, which was perfect. We got a text message from Veriu while in the show, to let us know that happy hour was between 5 & 6pm. The show finished at 4.30pm so we arrived in time for happy hour. It was my birthday on the next day & the male receptionist, gave us exceptional service & looked after us very well. Also, we arrived at 12 noon & was offered early check-in & we had a late check-out the next morning. We had a great overnight stay at Veriu Hotel & will definitely be back.

I can't think of a thing that I didn't like, as our stay at Veriu definitely ticked all the boxes for a great overnight stay.

The staff were friendly. I appreciated their welcome and information provided. The room itself was very nice and cosy. Good location near the Central station. I would stay here again.

Be prepared for street noise. Sirens cars people. You're in the middle of the city and it's an older building so you aren't in a high rise 20 floors up. Bring earplugs. If you have any mobility challenges I would not suggest you stay here. They have a lift but as with many other reviews the lift broke while I was there. Actually I got stuck inside and when I got out and returned the out of order sign was on and I need to go up and down with my suitcase 4 flights. You must be prepared and fit enough to climb the stairs to stay. There is no room service so you must also be able to come down and find food.

The staff were friendly and attentive. Although small, my room was neat, tidy and equipped with mini fridge, complimentary coffee and tea, hair dryer, toiletries, safe, tv with Netflix. It even had small balcony. Bathroom was clean. Located within walking distance to Chinatown, public transport, and dining options. They have free wifi.

The lift was out of order for the duration of my stay, but the hotel did call me in advance to advise me of the works being undertaken. I was on the third floor. The corridors and rooms are narrow and poky, as it's an old building, and may not be the most accessible if one experiences challenges with mobility. The micro double room has limited storage for clothes and personal items, so one has to be mindful of this. At night, I could hear all the traffic noise from the street below and some rattling noise within the building throughout the night, it was a good thing I had a pair of earplugs to help me get my sleep.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The location was conventionally located with easy walking distance to transport and great restaurants.

These are very minor things and didn’t take away from my stay, but thought it worth mentioning. The kitchenette didn’t have anything in the room the clean your own dishes. The power outlets were weirdly located (as if the room had originally been styled a different way). There was no instructions in the room on how to use the dual TVs, I could never get the one in the bedroom space to work.

Classy check in desk which is open 24 hrs that also acts as a bar area. The room was neat and tidy with 2 single beds. The bathroom had a giant overhead rain shower with really great hot water. The staff were really friendly and helpful. One of them told me about becoming a member of the Veriu club and it would allow me late check out which I was very grateful for.

It has old timber floor boards on level one that creak and make noise when walking along the hallway. There is carpet over it but it’s still a bit noisy.

The room was very trendy with beautiful features and gorgeous curtains. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite which was excellent. The hotel was close to restaurants and bars. Handy to Central Station and an easy walk to SCG.

The bathroom was a bit cramped with no storage. We didn't have an iron or ironing board so had to access a room on the floor with spare irons and boards. It was very noisy at night on the 1st Floor. We couldn't access normal TV in the bedroom. The king bed was two single beds joined and it was very uncomfortable in the middle
