Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach

The smallest issue was that the curtains didnt compleyely close and I couldn't as a light sleeper once the sun rose.

It was an old style (in a good way) hotel with large foyer which had a vintage mercedes parked in it. Staff were extremely caring, polite and professional. The building in old and in the process of huge renovations and so some favilities were unavailable like the restaurant. Noise is limited to after 7am but Ididn't hear anything. Spacious room with balcony and bath. It is in Brighton-le-sands which has lots of restarants, Supermarket, etc 2 minutes walk around the corner. The beach is opposite. The airport is very close and visible from the beach. I can't imagine how good it will be when the renovations are finally done.

Easy access from airport. Beautiful room. Had a lovely upgrade as it was my 60th birthday, but thought we were going to get botany bay views but did not, However the strawberries and balloons from the hotel was a beautiful touch,

The furniture on the balcony is very tacky and dirty. I also ordered two glasses of red wine from late night room service menu. When the glasses were brought to me I was told that at this time - 11pm they dont do glasses you will have to buy a bottle. The glasses each were only going to be $8 each but I then had to pay $45 for a bottle. You should have this listed on the menu,

I had a refurbished room which looked very nice. Great views. Plenty of breakfast options. Every medical condition and culture was considered. Very helpful staff. A lot of staff were of a non-caucasion background. As I prepared to concentrate on hearing them talk in an accent, I was very relieved to hear them speak perfect 'aussie'. :-)

The BED was TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE. It was very soft and had an extreme sag. This EXTREMELY AGGRAVATED MY BACK resulting in waking up with an extremely painful back with difficulty in any movement. The toilet was separated from the bathroom in a very tiny, tight , space. I suggest either combine the bath room and toilet room or reduce the sink/bench size, or, remove it.

The room was spotless. The decor is beautiful. We were obviously on a refurbushed level and it was just stunning...the colours, the carpet, the wall papers...absolutely beautiful. It was the nicest room with have stayed in and the price for that room we thought was great value. The place smells amazing with the beautiful scents in the air, reminds me of las vegas. Parking is easy and cheap. 15min from the city and lots of great eateries right at the doorstep.

Be even better when the refurbishments are complete. We were aware of potential noise from that....so cannot really complain.

Room and Location

No tea, coffee, milk 2nd day Went down to front desk and asked to provide + a bucket of ice Nothing had arrived after approx 40 minutes Phoned room service who arrived with it approx 15 minutes later without the Ice. Asked for the Ice to be delivered. Room service delivered Ice shortly after that Next another delivery approx 1 hour later with the Tea, coffee and Ice. This was perhaps the original request to front desk All a bit like Faulty Towers

the bed was extremely comfortable. breakfast was great and rooms were very generous in size

Every staff member was excellent. From check-in staff to the room service people, to breakfast room staff, to check-out service. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, efficient and kind. Even the two staff members clearing the plates in the breakfast room were the happiest, nicest people I have ever met! It made our stay wonderful. Room was spacious and beds and pillows were super comfortable. We were in the unrenovated section and can’t wait to come back when the hotel is complete - it will be spectacular.

I love the location, safety, surrounding shops and access to the city and airport.

I am an aged pensioner with a disability. I live in the far north coast. Before I booked I rang the hotel to ask if I could use the NSW stay voucher and. I was told yes I could. Upon arrival at the hotel I was told that I couldn’t use the .voucher as I hadn’t booked through the hotel. If I had been advised of that earlier I would have booked directly but when you live on a pension you have to watch every cent: e.g. I drove two hours to an airport for a cheaper flight. Your staff need to advise guests of this.

The location was amazing, and I was upgraded to a room with a sea view which was really special. I also enjoyed being able to watch the planes take off and land. I had a meal via room service and the food was delicious. In the morning I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was fully stocked with all you could want for breakfast. You can even make yourself a fresh juice or help yourself to a smoothie.

The bed was way too soft. The carpet was quite old and worn. The TV in the bedroom did not work well no cable channels as advertised and the movie selection also did not work. The verandah was good but had some green slime patches on it. But despite this I enjoyed it simply for the view.

Onsite parking easy entry for me as I am disabled and use a walker. New renovated room was wonderful and staff were excellent

The TV opposite the beds did not work that was inconvenient. Also the chair in the room did not fit under the bench which made it hard to get past. Our room had two double beds which we enjoyed but when this is the case there is only one bedside table but the power points are on the outer side of each bed which was inconvenient.
