Silkari Suites at Chatswood

I do not appreciate paying $200 deposit and not getting the money back for several days. Not acceptable to me. Money should be returned immediately on departure or interest paid at overdraft rate. Until this policy changes I will not stay there again

The rooms are nice and spacious, and the bed is very comfortable. The rooms are 'apartment style', with a full-size fridge, microwave, oven, dishwasher and a washer/dryer. It's also nice to have the little extra things like a bathrobe and slippers. A nice bonus was the complementary barista coffee in the mornings.

None of the rooms have baths. Maybe most people don't care, but I like a nice bubble bath when I'm staying in a hotel. It turns out Chatswood isn't the best area if you want to stay out anywhere past 9pm. Also note the hotel doesn't have its own restaurant, which is becoming more and more common nowadays (unfortunately). But there are several breakfast spots in the area.

It was clean spacious and close to transport shops and restaurants

The first room they gave us had carpets shampooed that day and still wet. Ridiculous to allocate a room with wet carpet but they changed our room after we complained. The bad thing that made it worse was I am in a wheelchair and it was a disabled room and bathroom as we were only there one night I was able to manage it but would have been really bad if for any longer or I was a paraplegic - A lot of these hotels in Australia have a long way to go with understanding of people with disabilities.

My second time staying this year. Great location, only minutes walk to public transport. Many restaurants, cafes and a supermarket all close by. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. On site parking is very convenient. Free coffee in the mornings in the foyer is a nice touch.

I was on the first floor corner room. So there was a bit more noise until later in the evening when traffic and pedestrians eased off. It also had small windows in the sleeping and living areas overlooking the main entry. There were blinds but light still gets in around the edges.

Great accomodation for families. Close to shops and excellent location to activities in Sydney etc. Great to have a washer dryer combo machine, and the kitchen was well equipped. 2 bathrooms was great with family. Living room worked well even with an extra bed for 1 child.

Need block out blind on the living room windows. When lights on in rooms, there is no privacy without blockout. Also, it would have been better when having an extra bed for a child to sleep on. Every night I could hear noise from the room above. It sounded like someone vaccuming their floors or something. Only small details that wont stop me from booking again so long as pricing does increase.

Great layout and use of space and good amount of separation for a studio! We were very impressed by how efficiently it was planned out, rather than walls just being flat in the hall they used them for drawers and space for the microwave. Very creative. The sound proofing was excellent, we never heard another guest or traffic despite facing Archer Street.

We never could get the place cool. When we rang the front desk we told them that despite the room was on 20 and cool aircon it was still hot. They said that it didn’t get cooler than 20…but it still felt heaps warmer so I’m not convinced it was actually working. They were very kind to offer a fan, which helped some, but we woke up uncomfortable multiple times in the night soaked in sweat. Not at all what you would hope when you pay >$200 for a room.

We loved that the apartment had EVERYTHING we needed. Room was serviced daily. Check in was smooth and the staff were always helpful and friendly. We were close to any type of cuisine and the public transport was within easy walking distance as were supermarkets. You could actually cook a full meal in the apartment if you wanted to! It had everything that was required! Cleanliness was impeccable. Nil complaints. We'd stay again in a heartbeat.

The room was clean and had all creature comforts one would need for an apartment. All furnitire was well kept and inviting to use. Plenty of room, shower pressure was good, the shampoo, conditioner and body wash smelled great. Short walk to train station and easy access to parking. Check in and check out was a quick process. I also liked that check out time was 11am.

Right next to a school so if you are staying mid week it can be a little noisy. No nice views from windows.

The room we had was very spacious. The 2 bedroom apartment style room with a kitchen. We had the room with the ensuite which was lovely. It was myself, wife, 2 kids and another adult so bedding wasn't an issue. Enough Room for all to sleep in. Room was clean upon first entry and the location was great especially in Chatswood. Lots of shops and things to do around the area. Free complimentary coffee every morning which was lovely especially to start the day before the day trip ahead. Front desk was attentive and helpful so no issues there. Will definitely come back for sure and stay at Silkari again in the near future.

Went to check out the roof top and when we were about to go outside, we noticed a cockroach the size of my pinky finger crawling along the carpet and into one of the rooms. Perhaps every weekly or fortnightly, need to have pest controllers to manage these things.

Central location in the shopping district, parking included and easily accessible, attentive staff (front desk attended 24 hrs), staff very helpful with queries and air conditioning malfunction. Staff were really polite and pleasant (even working on Christmas Day!). Room was large and comfortable. Complimentary coffee barista each morning which was a nice touch! All perfect for our visit. Thank you.

Air conditioning was faulty twice but staff were excellent. When we called the front desk someone came up immediately and fixed the issue (a connection problem at the wall with the controller).
