What a beautiful 2 night stay at the Star, we were upgraded and it really made it even more special. Super grateful for the amazing service & hospitality.

The only draw back is there's no main Lobby dining area/bar which would make it super convenient instead of seperate restaurants around the centre.

From the moment I walked through the doors, staff were offering me beverages. Every staff member I encountered were so lovely. Especially the man that took our bag up to our room. He was very friendly. The view from the room during the day and at night was stunning!

Trying to get into the casino from the hotel lobby elevator. They refused entry to my partner, saying he did not look like his photo id (he shaved before he came down, and he wears glasses daily). They questioned us and tried to say his ID was fake (we used the service NSW app, his license is current) and that we needed to provide a bank card as proof of identification. Very rough.

The complimentary room upgrade was exceptional! The room was exceptionally big, and there were enough showers for us all to shower at once without rushing. There were televisions in every room, allowing us to watch television programmes easily without having to go to the living room. There were many dining places near our hotel room, saving us the trouble to spend money on an Uber to dine at other places. The balcony of our room had a great view. Enjoyed it daily by drinking coffee there.

No immediate access to pool and gym because they are under renovation. Too troublesome to walk to Darling Hotel to use their pool. Cucina Porto restaurant did not want to let us into the restaurant because we didn't make a reservation. There were clearly tables not reserved in the restaurant, the waiter just did not want to let us in. My husband did a last-minute booking and we managed to get in, which proves my point that the waiter just did not want to let us in. Serving was also very slow.

Terrific modern room, spacious, quality furnishings and good amenities. Pretty clean room and very quiet. Nice views over city skyline and Darling Harbor. Free bottled drinking water with the room. Short (10 to 15 minutes) walk to Darling Harbor cafes and restaurants area. Close to maritime museum. Would stay here again.

Some minor maintenance issues in the room; blown light globe in one of the bathroom lights, broken door handle in the second bathroom, both small issues overall. Would have been a nice touch to have a mini bar in the room. Disappointed with the Casino bar situation: only the sports bar was open inside the Casino, all other bars were shut (was a Sunday evening approx 6pm), disappointed as we wanted to have a pre-dinner cocktail before going out to eat.

Loved the room and also that the Lyric Theatre was within the venue as we were there to see Wicked.

It's not that I didn't like it, it was a wonderful trip, but perhaps a discount on parking. I realise that VIP members can utilise that, however as a single parent I'm not able to commit to such a membership. I feel that a discount on parking for those who are staying overnight would be nice. Even a 10% off. Please don't get me wrong, the value was excellent in comparison to everything around the venue. But it's the only thing I can say I had an opinion on :)

Clean quiet modern rooms. Access to a variety of restaurants and snack foods. Quick room service for breakfast. Online ordering made it so easy. No cooking facilities or microwave in the 2 bedroom apartment we were in and no fridge only a refrigerated drawer. Valet parking a bonus and helpful staff. Unfortunately trying to raise housekeeping was difficult and tried concierge to get a message for 3 clean towels. Had to ring again after waiting and got through to housekeeping only to have only 2 towels delivered. At $633 a night with no harbour view there are some things that could have been made available. Couldn't even get a plug for the kitchen sink or a teatowel. Still had a great 2 nights being in the casino atmosphere and will be going back.

Seems to be a bit of a language barrier. Asked housekeeping about a few things and there was some difficulty in them understanding us.

The beds were very comfortable. The unit was amazing, very spacious. There were 2 adults and 2 children. we had plenty of room, and the staff brought up a role out bed so each of the kids had their own bed, which was great after being in a small room for 8 days with 2 small double beds and a 10hrs flight back to Australia so it was great to have plenty of space

The food we got from room service was very disappointing. The kids' nuggets and chips were better than the wague pasta, and the margarita pizza that my wife and I got the pizza sauce and pasta bolanase was extremely sweet

I was given an upgrade and it was a spectacular view from our balcony. The check-in process was fast and very professional. When we walked into the room, my friend was very impressed with the facilities. It was clean and high specs and I gave her the king bed to enjoy and she is only tiny so she rolled about in fun. The bathrooms were great for privacy and we thoroughly enjoyed having to just walk down a short way from Lyric Theatre and there was the check in. I will definitely use this accommodation should I come to Lyric Theatre and it was only a short ride on the Light Rail as well.

The only thing that I found was that I am average height and the seating was too low and the seating at the bench/table was a bit scary for my friend who is a bit on the short side.

I liked the location, ease of access to services such as restaurants on site, close by and plentiful public transport options. staff were nice. loved the pool and spa area. room service had a lot of nice options and was delivered fresh and hot.

There are 2 shower options in room - rainfall shower and hand held shower - both of which has extremely low pressure to the point it was hard to bathe properly. we got room service on night one at about 11pm. a bit disappointing to see the room service cart still outside our room at 5pm the next night. not a good look for a high end hotel. rooms were services daily but other than a quick straighten up of beds and I use that term “quick” and replenishment of towels/ toiletries that’s it. the beds were not re- made. they were straightened up a little. resembling the effort a small child or teen would make a bed.

Travelling as a group of four, (2 couples) we booked a 2 bedroom suite. 2 separate private rooms, 2 bathrooms, great lounge and balcony and full size kitchen/dinning combo. Plenty of space with a great view of the harbour and cbd. Really close to such a wide variety of activities and food entertainment. Great uber pickup location, with a variety of drivers always so close. Special Shout Out - David on the concierge desk. On our departure we were in the hotel drive, waiting for our airport transfer. David, was very friendly asking about our stay and really interacted well with some banter on our 3 night stay. It wasn't until we reached Sydney airport before I realised I had left my apple watch in the hotel room. I called the hotel asked to speak with David on the concierge desk, as I felt he could put a face to the name. David advised he would get straight on to it and advise me when done. When turning my phone back on after landing in Coffs Harbour. There was a message from David, with photos of my apple watch.Photos of it packaged up and sent express post with a tracking number. GREAT SERVICE. Can say without a doubt, now a customer for life. Thanks David.

The fridge was a cabinet draw set up, not sure how but I managed to press a setting when making a drink, changing from fridge to freezer mode. This would have been bad had we not noticed. As all the minibar drinks (glass bottles) could have froze. However managed to get away with a near miss.
