Exceptionally clean! and rooms are pleasant to be in. Located above the big and very modern pub-bar-restaurant, but feels safe and noise is minimal (earplugs are provided). Awesome cleaning ladies! Sympathetic guests. I used it as a base to walk all beaches between Terrigal and Norah (lighthouse). Great bus communication to everywhere on the Central Coast. The best for me is Whale watching beach - Forresters Beach. I saw many, many Whales passing on their way south.

Internet is practically unavailable in the rooms at the end of the corridor (the ones from booking). For me, it was a big inconvenience as I do synchronised meditations with European countries - I had to sit on the corridor's floor at 4am 😝. Dearest The Lakes, in Jaycar you can buy wifi repeater, which only needs to be put on shelf and plugged into power point, no computer connection needed. There are different types, and prices are approx $70-200). Please consider. For long term travellers wifi is more relevant than tv.

I am homeless,an I had on my I'dentification card a local address, and I was told I couldn't stay at yr lovely hotel.. BUT because I booked my accomadation it on line..the awsome manager allowed me to stay for the night.. He carried my bag to my room and he was very professional and very caring.. The lbeatiful blonde lady behind the bar who greeted me come up to see if I was ok. and if I needed anything she started to cry for me because I'm 52 yrs old and no where to go..i told her not to cry for me as there are alot of people doing it hard out there and Im ok as I have hope an believe it will get better soon ...I wanted to really thank that lady she is a special kind of a person she didnt treat me like a number or look at me like I was a homeless bum nor did the manager they treated me like a real person and with respect and kindness .. I thankyou and yr excellent compassionate staff who made me feel so very welcome an comfortable... I wish I was allowed to stay in yr hotel but unfortunately rules are rules and I appricated that with respect..an I thank them for bending the rules for me for.the night. I would.recomend any one to stay at yr hotel I left with a smile if I could stay again I would best hotel I have ever.stayed.at and absoultly well presented threw out the dwelling clean and smells fresh yr staff take pride in there work and there work place present place to be at give yr selfs all a pat on the back and I'd it was me as boss I give you all a pay.rise ...💯👍😊

Very comfortable. Small but sufficient. Clean & fresh. Well appointed. Not noisy or disruptive. Staff were very amenbable & approachable. Liked having 24/7 independent access to building & room. Was ideal for the price. Location excellent. Walk to beaches, shops, restaurants, supermarkets etc

Minor issues . A bigger T.V if feasible, would be excellent, only cos my vision is waning! Perhaps also providing the relevant cords ie HMDI etc to use TV as laptop monitor.( If you could find a way to secure them perhaps from unfriendly fingers!?!) More tea/ coffee/ sweetner/milk/ salt & pepper/ sample provisions, serviettes etc ( which can be bought in bulk for businesses very affordably from factory outlets etc) whilst simultaneously are exceptionally handy when holidaying & trying to travel light & not have to fuss about the small things!

Regardless of the shared bathrooms, we were comfortable. Bathrooms were clean and close to the rooms. We have no complains.

Great value for money. Got a queen room for about $83 per night. It was really clean with a great location. Would definitely go back.

The food in the kitchen could do with a bit of work. I’m only writing this because you asked me what I didn’t like. So here goes. Buffalo wings were average. Using the tail of the wing is a no no in my books, should just use the mid wing or the drumett. Wings need to be fried then tosssd in the sauce. They seemed almost steamed . Not great. The soy dipping sauce in the calamari was super strong. Need to use light soy sauce , not the dark soy. Burger was pretty good. I do pub catering for a living so I am a little critical in that area. It was well priced though. Love the lakes paper you use. Nice touch and was presented well.

Hotel was right in centre of CBD, easy walk to foreshore and surrounding areas. Exceptional prices for accommodation even though bathroom is down the corridor. Big sized bedroom and bed. Bus route right outside, around the corner. Big restaurant bar area. Great food. Had Seniors Meal offers. Great steak, mash and vege $20.. Very comfortable place for solo female traveller. Has a nice vibe throughout the hotel. Best entry via doorway on main CBD street, not around corner otherwise you have a lot of stairs if you are disabled in any way, I made that mistake.

The door to upstairs accommodation very heavy to get open. No lift for person with disability, no help offered to take my luggage up, I managed to get upstairs eventually. Check-in for accommodation not prominent, stuck at end of the bar, had to ask where it was. Some minor refurbishments still going on in various places, not always a good look, but they looked nearly complete.

everything was fine

the only thing hat bothered me was stairs and carrying things up them and key got stuck in door at the bottom of stairs on Sunday morning when going up to my room to get bags and no one available till 9am they said lock had been playing up and had been replaced but obviously still not working I was very frustrated and late for my class that I was attending and hand was very sore trying to turn key as I have arthritis I will be attending central coast watercolor society again and will think about staying again maybe

Close to everything, lovely staff.

No microwave to heat up a kids bottle of milk in the family room, being a family room I would have thought there would be a microwave. Also a family room with a little fridge, I think being a family room should have the next size up from “bar fridge / mini fridge” Luckily my dad lives close so could walm bottles up.

The overnight stay in The Lakes Hotel couldn’t have been better, basic which matches price. The only staff member I can speak very highly of is the bottle shop attendant on the Sunday morning shift. If he didn’t appear I would have been locked out of my room for a minimum of one hour.

Left the door key in the room whilst going to the bathroom, locked out. Guest dialled an after hours number which did not answer.

The location is ideal, the bistro downstairs has fantastic food, very affordable. The staff go out of your way to help, thanks to Lisa and Tyler, and the lovely lady in the bistro who gave my kids colouring packs, thanks for the stay

Young delinquents causing trouble in the hotel area late at night, I did not appreciate the emergency warning at 6am with my kids
