Breakfast was superb! Loved the coffee machine and there was a fabulous selection of hot and cold foods. The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable - for example, giving us a room with a sea view after a mistake with our booking. Many thanks for the awesome 5 star service 👍

The free shuttle service could have operated more regularly to enable guests to get to and from the main centre as it is quite a walk from the hotel. It would have given us a bit more time to relax as we had to find local buses or walk (which we did a lot).

We were a family of 4 and we stayed in The White House Port Douglas for 3 nights during December of 2023. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with 1 bathroom, kitchen, Washer and Dryer. One bedroom had a double/queen bed and the other had 2 single beds. There was a decent size living room, a small breakfast table. Things that are good: - Location: It is located just 1 block from the 4 mile beach. This is super convenient. - The shower and the Wash closet are in two different rooms which was very helpful for 4 of us. - The apartment was clean and updated. - The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need if you need to prepare meals. We didn't use the kitchen much but there was everything. - We had different towels for the beach and different towels for shower which was super appreciated - The check-in was very convenient. You are given a code to the safe and you take the keys from the safe and check-in to the apartment. We were able to check-in without any hassles. We also went right after the Cyclone Jasper and most of the other apartments were vacant. - There is a car park for the apartment and as there were only 2 cars it was easy to find parking.

The only thing I didn't like is that we found 2 cockroaches during out stay. I hear they fly in the air and it is difficult to control them...

The view from our room was beautiful, water & mountains. The staff were lovely & always happy to help, house keeping was done daily, which was great as we always came back to fresh towels.

The bathroom is very small, and there is no fan, which isn't great when using the shower or going to the toilet. Shower curtains aren't great either. The hotel has central air conditioning which can't be turned off in the rooms so our room was always freezing unfortunately. Having a heater in rooms could be an option for people who don't like cold air conditioning on them at night time.

Sea views were great. Staff were very helpful in finding a great tour to book.

Breakfast didn't change and sometimes you had to wait a long time for food to be restocked and some was not restocked at all. The shuttle into Cairns city was dramatically reduced compared to our last visit. This was very disappointing as it was one of the reasons we booked this hotel. The shuttle only ran twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon, so we barely used as the times were not useful..

very friendly and helpful staff, i left a charger at home and the front desk staff offered me his until i could replace mine. wait staff in the restaurant at breakfast were also very friendly and efficient

it was a little further into the main part of Cairns than I would have liked. It is a good 30 minute walk each way. OK if you are used to walking but older people without a car would find it challenging.

Staff are outstanding and they made the stay excellent. They are always there to help in a friendly and polite manner. We were given extensions at both ends due to flight schedules. Breakfast buffet is perfect and there's a nice bar that is always open. We would definitely stay again.

The Holiday Inn is a little worn and needs money spent on room upgrades. Furniture is dated. I was shocked at the room prices in Cairns but like everything else (air fares, meals etc) there are no bargains to be had.

We were lucky to be able to leave our car in the car park while we were on Green Island for a couple of days. Otherwise there was also plenty of car spaces in the street. Always love the comfortable bed and selection of pillows.

Unfortunately, this time there was a lot of noise in the corridor outside our room until midnight. A shower/bath is not always safe for people who are unstable. The bath was very narrow.

Room was great. 2nd floor but had a good view of the mountains. Very clean. Beautiful toiletries in bathroom. Beds comfy. Maybe too soft but that is being picky. Great location.

Richard at reception was extremely helpful and friendly. He kindly upgraded us and arranged for a shuttle bus to the markets the next day. We always find the Holiday Inn very comfortable (especially the bed and pillows). The central location was handy to a varied selection of great restaurants and our room had an amazing view over the sea. The room was also a size.

Everything was great.
